Real Name: Takisha Shimura

Known Family: Mirasho Shimura/Lady Thunder (Mother), Michael ??/Vortex (Biological Father) Yashiro Shimura (Adoptive Father)

Age: 15

Height: 5’4”

Weight: 120 pounds

Eyes: Sky Blue

Hair: White (dyed black)

Physical Description: Takisha is a Japanese American with physical traits peculiar to neither. He is particularly slight in size, although sinewy thanks to the constant training his mother subjects him to, and disguises his bleached white hair and nearly iridescent eyes with dye and glasses. His skin is paler than his mother’s but not as truly ‘white’ as his father’s. Otherwise Taki is a pleasant enough teenager with a slight nose but a strong mouth inherited from his biological father.

History: While working alongside the Dragon Dawn, a non-public Japanese espionage team, Vortex had a short affair with the Asian weather manipulator Lady Thunder. The romantic fling only lasted as long as the mission and the two parted ways. She never revealed to the American fighter pilot and super-hero that she was pregnant with his child. Takisha was four when his mother married the now defunct team’s non-powered field commander Yashiro.

Like his mother, Taki was a slight child and was picked on terribly in school, not only for his size but his odd eye color and light hair. To compensate for his hair and eyes was easy enough, and his size became less of a hindrance as he learned various forms of martial arts from his retired super soldier parents. When Taki was 12 his powers began to develop, a mixture of his mother’s elemental manipulative powers and his biological father’s unique form of telekinesis.

Unfortunately, a public display of his abilities while trying to assist in a fire at his school drew the attention of former enemies of his parents. Not realizing their cover was compensated, Mirasho and Yashiro were targeted by a volley of heavy artillery while driving to pick Takisha up from school. Takisha was attacked but managed to escape, flying to his parents. When he arrived his father was dead and his mother severely injured. Having no where else to turn Mirasho contacted Vortex, explained the situation, and asked for him to provide asylum for Taki in the states. Taki reluctantly left to the west with the man whom he was told was his ‘Uncle’ and through him learned of the Dynamics.

Powers: Tsunami’s telekinetic abilities resemble Vortex’s in function, able to manipulate air currents for flight and manipulating objects. Although Taki may have a greater amount of pure power than his biological father he has very limited fine ability. Where Vortex could use his powers to pull a rifle from an opponent’s grasp Tsunami would be restricted to bowling the gunman over with a wide spread blast. His flight more resembles sporadic jumping and launching than the levitation displayed by Vortex. He can fly at a faster rate, but cannot hover or move at limited speeds. His landings are often quite acrobatic.

But the largest variance is the visual difference in the two. Vortex’s ability was virtually invisible, but Taki’s seems rooted in his mother’s weather powers, manifesting water vapor as rolling clouds which trail behind him as he flies or surround his targets as he assails them. The cloud formations, and Taki himself, are ablaze with blue electrical discharges that are of nearly infinitesimal voltage but can be quite brilliant. Taki can focus his energies to discharge a mild electrical jolt by contact to a grounded target, but building up the charge requires full concentration for several minutes and is only as strong as a jolt from a household outlet. He cannot summon this while in combat, but can ‘store one up’ if there is sufficient time beforehand. The only true weather manipulative powers he’s inherited from his mother is the ability to influence the path of naturally occurring lightning strikes. Although devastating it is rarely usable as the lightning needs to be in his direct vicinity.

Skills: Taki is an accomplished martial artist, speaks fluent Japanese and English, and has the educational equivalent of a 12th grader thanks to superior schooling. Although he has no license he is capable of driving a car with moderate skill, and is proficient with motorcycles, particularly off road.

Personality: Taki was always on the edge of being a spoiled child, but his physical shortcomings managed to keep his attitude in check. He always felt compelled to try harder to keep up with the larger kids and try to detract from his obvious unique appearance. He has a fondness for motor cross racing that has taken a back seat to playing with his new found powers the past few years. Taki believes the move to the United States is temporary, but his mother intends for him to remain away from the island of his birth forever, for his own protection.
