REAL NAME: Sara Griffith
AGE: 25

BACKGROUND: Sara was a legacy, the daughter of the super hero The Cavalier.  Growing up her only true desire was to follow in her father's footsteps, to become his successor.  Her father Brian had other ideas, however, and struggled with her for years to insure she received a proper education and devoted her life to a less dangerous profession, going so far as stopping her from becoming a young heroine with the London Knights back in '91.

But Sara was and is a very determined woman and by the time she was twenty four she had become Valiant whether her father approved or not.  Brian realized he had lost and turned instead to helping her daughter however he could.

Sara proved to be a fair hero; while she was brave and a team player within The Vindicators she had sustained injuries on several ocassions either through bad luck or carelessness.  But she had finally felt as if she had come into her own.

Then, as they say, disaster struck.

Years ago the London Knights had one major case, battling a sorcerer named Maag.  They defeated Maag, sending him tumbling back through what they thought was some sort of time portal, but before he disappeared he had cursed them all, a curse that took more than a decade to be complete.  The curse robbed Valiant and the others of their powers, making them normal humans.

Sara refused to quit.  Instead she explored her options.  She did not have the training to become a martial artist/detective vigilante and knew it would take years to acquire those skills, and experimental technologies to give her powers seldom worked and often had dangerous side effects.  That left employing her engineering talents.  Using parts of the suits of armor worn by a cadre of mercenaries, aided by a reluctant Brian Griffith, Sara fahioned a customized suit of armor.  The armor did not work out as expected, however, and Sara resorted to a medical solution cooked up by the Kinkaids involving injections of her father's DNA.  With these treatments she has regained her powers.

POWERS: Sara has two powers.  The first is her ability to fly at high sub sonic speeds.  Her body is adapted to this; her eyes, throat and skin are able to handle the stress of high velocity winds, low pressure and both frigid temperatures from high altitude and from the heat of friction.  Her lungs are able to take in and process oxygen much more efficiently than a normal human's, allowing her to breath at altitudes that would kill most people.

Sara's other power is the ability to create force fields.  With these fields she can protect herself with a sheath around her body, or use them to protect a much wider area (her largest force field covered 10,000 square feet).  But the larger the force field the less effective it becomes.  She has developed a series of tricks with the fields.  She can carry several tons, or use them as grappling hands or as battering rams.  The strength of the force fields drop with the amount of area they have to cover.  At the widest stretch they are able to stop high calibre bullets.  Covering her body they can stop more but they do not stop intertia; if she were hit with an artillery shell, for example,  Valiant would suffer from the concussive knockback and could easily be stunned.  For this reason she relies as much on mobility as she does his field.  Also, the more she uses the field in offense the weaker her defensive field becomes.

Sara is an excellent aerialist and can perform complex maneuvers in mid-air.

PERSONALITY: Sara knows that she has a lot to live up to; her father is the man who trained Lionheart, one of the greatest heroes in Great Britain's history.  It is for this reason why she left the UK to strike out on her own as a hero.  Great Britain does not need her, not with Lionheart in the UK and The Morrigan in Ireland.  Australia has virtually no paranormal crime and neither does Canada.  But the United States is rife with it, and here is a place where she can prove herself a hero without being under her father's shadow.

APPEARANCE: Sarah is an attractive woman with short, rich brown hair.  As Valiant her costume consists of a suit of armor that superficially resembles chainmail but is in reality a high tensile plastic/kevlar weave.  The armor is dark green with white piping, while her boots and leather gloves are white.  Over the armor she wears a white surcoat  with green piping that reaches to her knees with the print of the red dragon of Wales on the chest.  It is tied to her waist by a white "utility belt".

POWERS/SKILLS: Sarah has had basic hand to hand lessons taught to her by her father, but she is far from being an expert.  She has begun training harder in the past few months in the event her powers fail her again.

Sarah has a degree in engineering from Cal Tech, and is a fair hand at both mechanical and electrical engineering.  Her father was also an experienced engineer and he taught her numerous things while growing up.

EQUIPMENT: Sara's armor provides her with a measure of protection.  She has included a pair of gauntlets to protect her wrists and forearms that contain special compartments for narrow and useful items such as credit cards.

Sarah wears a "utility belt".  Below are the items:

Electrician's kit; consisting of a very small soldering device as well as numerous small tools
First aid kit: A very small first aid kit with bandages, disinfectant, etc.
Monocular/Magnifying Glass: Can also be attached to her goggles to take full advantage of her IR/UV options
Plastic Cuffs: Several plastic hand cuffs which are also used by police officers today
Swiss Army Knife
Stainless Steel Cigarette Lighter
Gas Mask
Third Generation Pocket Comp/Global Positioning System
Flash Light

Sara also wears a pair of goggles that allow one to see infra-red and have low-light capability.  Their other feature is to act as glare-protection against flash attacks.  She may also use other equipment as the needs arise.

As a major stockholder in her father's company, the recipient of a generous trust and a holder in over a dozen patents of varying value, Sara does not have to work.
