Haunted House?
I live in South Carolina, which most of you know is known for its history. A lot of its more interesting history comes from the time around the Civil War. Because of the very old houses, swamps, and buildings around, the entire state seems to have the reputation for being haunted; which in my opinion is entirely possible. I once lived in a very old plantation house, it has everything a usual plantation would have- the barns, the fields, the horses, the cellar/ basement, as well as the slave quarters. As children my sisters and I weren't allowed to go any where near the old barns, the cellar, and especially not the slave quarters. Let me fill you in on some of the history of the plantation. It was built in 1735, and some time during the Civil War was taken over and used as a hospital for the Yankees (no offense) Anyway to make a long story short, a lot of people died there and it is a very creepy place to be in. I don't like it at all!! One of our experiences include the repeated sighting of a small child in very strange places- a broom closet, hiding in a corner of the kitchen, etc. We believe the little boy is in the records of the house as one that died of pneumonia in one of the upstairs bedrooms, which coincidentally has a bed in it that continuously moves itself across the room when we try to move it somewhere else. The floor holds the evidence in this case, when we first moved in my dad had the floors completely refinished, all the scars sanded out of the floor, waxed, the whole kit and caboodle. We tried to move the bed, it moved back leaving deep
scratch marks in the floor. My grandmother stayed with us the only time she has ever come to SC. She vows she will never come back. She stayed in the room with the moving bed, the next morning when she came down stairs she asked who had come into the room and patted her head, no one knew what she was talking about, true to her word she has never come back. Another often seen apparition seems to be a woman who is dressed in one of those very old ball gowns, you know the ones with the hoop skirts, petticoats, etc. She comes running down the stairs at times and goes straight into the kitchen. For what I wonder? A midnight snack? I no longer live in that house, but that doesn't stop me from wondering if the new owners see the things that my family had once seen in that house. Hmmmmmm......... Gives one something to think about, huh?

Black Figure
I have had many encounters over my life expand of 19 years, and have many weird things show up in my pictures I’ve took over the years, but the one that stands out in my mind and still scares me to this day was the black figure in my doorway. I was 13 years old, and it was late at night, I have never had a problem with going to sleep (its the best thing I do lol) but that night I couldn't sleep for nothing, so I changed positions and turned on my back, (where the bed was you can see the hallway wall if your laying in the bed...this comes into play later), well I opened my eyes and in the doorway stood a fairly tall, thin person, even though it was black you could still see threw him, he had a slight glow around him as well, (You gotta understand I never had a chance to meet my pawpaw he died before I was even thought of but I’ve seen pictures and this man in the doorway had the SAME body as my paw paw!!!!) The black figure was tall and thin, Well right as I saw it I got scared as h^#l, like any normal person would do, I was breathing heavy, I could feel my heart fixing to pound out of my chest, After what seemed like FOREVER finally I said "Please go away I have to get up for school in the mornin" And right after I said it, I seen a shadow on the hallway wall going back towards the kitchen.... The next mornin still very much shaken after what had happened I asked my mom if she was up anytime last night and she said "no" and I told her what had happened... well she laughed, I knew right away it wasn't daddy, he was in the living room like every night Snoring in his LazyBoy recliner. And to this day I sleep with my bedroom door SHUT!!!!
Thank you for your time and reading my story!!!

It's Okay
This may seem like an odd story but it is totally true. I think it was either on July 18, or 19 2005. Anyways, I had gone to bed and I was laying in bed awake. All of a sudden I saw my deceased Grandmother sitting at the edge of my bed near my feet. I don't know why but I just started crying for like no reason at all. She started rubbing my leg and a shiver ran up my spine. I started having a ton of flash backs, it was crazy. She started saying "It's okay, It is going to be okay," over and over again. I didn't really think of her as much of a ghost, more like an angel, for we were close when she was still alive. She died when I was 9. Her mother had passed away just a couple of months before. Also my grandma died the day before my sister’s birthday (Dec. 11). My sister was sick for her birthday that year.
Anyways getting back to the story: so I was crying and she kept saying that it was okay over and over again. I lay there for about 2 hours like that. And she stayed there beside my bed. She just sort of vanished like her business there was done. Eventually I felt my head and I was burning up so I went to the washroom and got a couple of cold cloths. I put them on my face and I eventually fell asleep.
The next day I was perfectly fine. I wasn't sick or anything. I didn't tell anyone until I told my dad a couple of days later. He was a little freaked out by it too. Now every time I think of what happened that night I feel all chilly and and warm at the same time for I love her, and I don't mind if she visits me once and a while. JUST NOT ALL THE TIME! IT'S KINDA FREAKY! Now once in a while when I'm feeling sad I hope she may come back and soothe me to sleep again. It doesn't bother me that much that I saw her. I LOVE HER AND I WANT HER TO KNOW THAT. I guess I've missed her so much, I sort of want to see her.
Something else about my Grandma: I had always thought she would haunt her own house, but her house was burned down by this guy about a year after she died , so I guess she decided to move a bit up the street to my house. LOL
Well that’s all for now. I have some more freaky stories but I'll share them with you a little later on. Promise.

Ringing In A Goodbye
One day I was at school when my mom came by and stopped in the doorway. I went to the door and she told me I was going to have to stay for lunch because my grandpa was in the hospital with a split aorta if you know what that is. Anyways she had to go to London with him that night and I stayed home. The next morning I left for school a little early because I was walking. ( My sis was getting a ride) When I was about 5 min away from school I heard a really loud bell ringing. When I got to school it continued to ring. It didn't stop for a few more minutes. It was weird because it wasn't the fire bell, it was more like the normal recess bell really extended. No one really talked about it that much longer so I sorta forgot about it until the end of the day. When I got home I found out my grandpa had died at around 8:00 that morning. I had missed my mom’s phone call by just a few minutes. And that whole day I had thought he was still alive. What freaked me out though was the fact that the bell rang at the time my mom called. I think my grandpa rang that bell for me to let me no he was gone, even though I didn't realize it until much later. Anyways I'd just like to say thanks grandpa for telling me, and even though it has almost been a year I'd like to say "GOODBYE" to you too.

A Ghost Message
One day me and my cousins were at a party. Then when we came home to our surprise we had 30 messages. When we listened to them all of them were the same. They all said, "Leave my house at once or suffer the consequences!" When we heard that we immediately ran outside. I told them that I would go inside. I walked in, the message machine said there was 60 more messages. 2 months later we moved to a house in L.A. I found out that a man and a woman moved in the house and then they started to get messages too. But when they got their messages it said. "Will they ever come back?" In a scary toned voice. After that I never spoke to them again.

Get Out of Here!
About a year and a half ago, me, my sister, and our best friend just came back from our cities public pool. We were staying at our grandma’s house and Joanna (our best friend), wanted to go home and change clothes. She lived up a hill from my grandma, so we went with her. When she tried opening her front door, it was locked. So she looked in her driveway to see if the family van was there, but it wasn’t. So we decided to wait for her parents and her brother and stepbrother. We sat on a love swing that was on her porch (which was located right underneath her kitchen window). All of a sudden we hear the water running and it sounded like someone was washing dishes. After that, we hear a boy crying, and it sounded like Joanna’s lil bro, Michale. So Joanna pounded on the front door yelling "Justin" (Justin’s her older stepbrother) Anyway, she was yelling "Justin let us in!" They have a dog that always sits on their window sill. So when we saw the dog he was staring at the kitchen like someone was in there. All of a sudden the phone rings once, then the answering machine came on and a mans voice yelled at us saying "get out of here, get out of here now!!!" Well, we listened to the voice and we took off down the hill straight to my grandma’s house. We told her what happened and she said that it was probably Joanna’s brothers scaring us. So we went back up to her house right as the van pulled up with EVERYONE IN IT. We told them what happened and of course they didn’t believe us and every time Joanna’s brothers see us they tease us saying "found your ghost yet?"

A Strange Visit
I don’t know if this was an experience but I do believe in ghosts and restless spirits of the dead. One night this summer in July, I was in my grandmother's house watching t.v. with her in New York City. She was sitting on the couch across from me and from where I sat, I could see the dinning room, the hallway that led to the entrance of the apartment and the doorway that led to the kitchen. Her little mixed chihuahua/poodle was napping on her lap. It was almost midnight and a commercial came on. I got this strangest feeling in the pit of my stomach and goose bumps broke out on my arm. At first I thought it was the air conditioner that was making me cold but suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I see a shadow in the shape of a man walk from the hallway of the entrance to the apartment, across the dinning room into the kitchen. At that instant, my grandma's little dog woke up, jumped out of my grandma's lap and started growling at that area where I saw the shadow go. My grandma
called her back but she continued to growl (she growls when people she doesn’t know come over to see my grandmother or me). Finally, she whines and then jumps back into my grandmothers lap. The goose bumps went away and so did that strange feeling. I told my grandmother what I saw and felt and she laughed and joked, "maybe we had a visitor."
The next day I was at work when my phone started ringing. (We weren't supposed to use the phone at work)so I took a bathroom break and checked my phone. I had a voice message from my other grandmother that lived across town, telling me that my aunt called her from Virginia and told her that my cousin Jason was killed by a drunk driver the night before. When we were younger, my cousin and I were very close and the last time I saw him was 5 years ago and he was already tall and all grown up. I am 19 now. I believe that it was my cousin and in his way, he was saying goodbye.

Rattling Picture Frame
My family and I recently spent a summer in St. Augustine, Florida. We were there for the Fourth of July. After a long night of fireworks, I was hoping to catch some sleep in our cozy hotel room. Around 8:00, though, I heard a consisting rattling. I opened to find the painting hanging on the wall besides my bed rattling, and what a racket it made! Of course, since I usually tell anyone who tries to wake me up too early, I angrily yelled "Shut up!" The rattling stopped. Alright, I know, it sounds creepy, a thirteen year old telling a rattling picture frame 'shut up' and the painting actually listens. I was surprised too. After I yelled at the painting, I became fully awake ( and thanks to my yelling, so was my brother). We both turned to look at the painting and watched in half fear, half amusement as the rattling started up again! It stopped about 30 seconds later. We left that day, early in the morning. It was only after that, that I learned about how haunted St. Augustine was.

Playful Friends
We grew up in Dallas. 4 kids and 2 wonderfully open minded and fun parents. Of the kids... there were 3 girls and one boy. We were taught the art of communicating with the spirit world at a young age. Through the means of a seance. We did so and thought it was great fun and interesting. My mom’s side of the family were very spiritual. Well.... in our teen years we attracted several... I guess you would call them... poltergeist. We lived with them (or they with us) for about 5-6 years. We were never really afraid of them. They loved to play tricks. They would move things, hide them and then make them re-appear in the strangest positions and places. They would pop things right out of your hands sometimes. We thought of them as part of the family, really, but always kept our wits about just in case one would take it a bit too far. They gradually left us as we grew up.... Although I sometimes feel them near...

Was She There?
One night my cousin Courtney & I were in the living room in her apartment where an old lady was killed. So we were watching Gilligan’s Island when the t.v. just went off and we went to my aunt Michelle’s room and asked her if her t.v. went out and it did not. So that night my cousin Katie, Courtney & I were going to sleep in the living room when the kitchen light went on & the refrigerator door opened. We screamed and ran into the other room to get the phone and we called my aunt while on the phone it went dead (it had been on the charger all night). All of the lights went out and we grabbed the flashlight and then we saw someone in the baby’s rocking chair, rocking back and forth. Well then she disappeared. Then that night when my aunt Michelle and my uncle Mike got home she locked the door, the chair, the regular door lock & the bolt door lock. She then pulled on the door to make sure that it was all the way shut and indeed it was. But the next morning the door was open with the chain still on there and the door bolt still locked, the regular door lock still locked and we were so scared. From then on other freaky things happened. Like one night after three years after my aunt moved into Essex, Maryland we were all fast asleep and my aunt then had a baby 4 years before she moved into the house. So then I went into the kitchen to get something to drink and the same lady was standing behind my uncle who had then woken up 5 minutes after I did and I told him she was behind him he then turned around and saw nothing. That night my cousin Courtney woke up grabbed my baby cousin by the arms squeezed him and then my aunt screamed and told her to let go she said "NO" in an old lady’s voice then dropped my baby cousin and woke back up crying. Since then weird things have been happening. Then 7 years later she moved and split up with my uncle Mike nothing has happened yet!

Private Kund
My Grandpa died on May 12, 2000. It was 2 days before my birthday so we had the choice to sell his house or keep it. So we kept it. He was a pack rat, so we just cleared his house out. Me and my mother one day were cleaning out his bed room when all of a sudden I dropped this glass thing and broke it and I was like froze, I did not blink or nothing. And there was my grandfather standing there with his rifle in his danish army suit. My mother was like what’s wrong and I would not move so she kind of got scared. But he was trying to tell me to keep the peace between my dad and his 2 sisters cause they were going at each others throats so I did keep the peace all this time.

Little Girl
Last weekend when we were having Sunday lunch at my in-laws house, I was sitting at the side of the table where I could see the hallway. This house is almost two hundred years old and was brought down a river to where it sits now. My daughter’s boyfriend’s parents were there and had brought their grand daughter with them. She is two. My father in-law was at the head of the table with his back to the hallway, so we were always looking at him to talk to him. I kept seeing a little girl in a yellow dress running down the hall. I got a creepy feeling because the grand daughter was asleep on the couch. I am researching the history of the house. Maybe more later.

Blanket Yanker
My grandma’s house is located in south Texas (El Valle) near the border from Texas to Mexico. As you may know south Texas is full of wilderness with different types of animals and plants. So ok my grandma’s house has three rooms, one that was added recently. It’s still ugly and old with cracks and waiting that one day it might fall down. Ok so before the other room was added there was just two rooms, living room, kitchen and a bathroom. Me and my sister and cousins would sleep at my grandma’s house. Me and my cousin Margarita of course being the oldest we wanted to sleep in the middle room. So we did and the rest of the girls slept in the living room. As we fell asleep about two, three hours later I felt someone yank my blanket. At first I thought it was my cousin but she got up too she asked me if I yanked the blanket I told her no I thought you did. She said no and we looked toward our feet and the blanket was not there. But we did see a strange face of a man. So I ran to turn on the light and saw the blanket on the floor crumbled up. We were stunned and immediately ran to living room and slept with the others. Ever since then I cannot sleep in rooms that are in the middle.

Ghost Dog Hauntings?
My best friend lives right down the street from me in a one story house. His mom is very into paranormal stuff and says that many of the other homes they have lived in over the years had strange things happen in them. Some of the things they’ve encountered were objects going missing then reappearing days later, drawers flying open and cold spots that would mysteriously come and go. In June, 2004 my friend and I decided to do a little ghost hunting…in his house. I brought my 35mm camera along with my camera phone. According to my friend and his family, the majority of the activity happens around midnight, so we decided to conduct our investigation then. At midnight, everyone gathered in the living room and turned every single light source off in the house…needless to say it was eerily pitch black. We started out walking through each and every room in the house, using the camera phone to take pictures (so we would know if we were getting any results right away)…we hadn’t gotten to the kitchen or my moms friends bedroom yet…and hadn’t gotten anything out of the ordinary…yet. There were five of us all bunched together, walking through the hall, heading towards the kitchen. Half way through the kitchen I walked through a cold spot on the floor. It was a small area and reached to about my knees and then just disappeared. On the other side of the kitchen was his mother’s bedroom doorway. I decided to take a picture with my 35mm camera, using the flash only for lighting…when I took the picture, everyone gasped and jumped back. I didn’t see anything because I was looking through my view finder at the time, but everyone else swore they saw something lying in the doorway. Next thing I knew, my camera began acting crazy and unfortunately I had to open the camera to fix the problem…which led to me exposing the film. We then decided to turn all the lights back on and take a break for a while. I soon found out that right before I took my picture of the doorway, my friend’s mom snapped one with the camera phone, getting an eerie image of what appears to be a dog. You can clearly see its eyes, ears, snout, and the shape of its head. What’s so bizarre about this picture is that a couple weeks prior to capturing this picture, my friends dog Yoshi, died of antifreeze poisoning. He was a Labrador retriever. And what makes this picture even more bizarre is that Yoshi died in the very doorway where we took the picture of the apparent dog. We also got another picture that night but have been unable to make out what it is…seems to be an orb in motion…possibly a face in the background?

Was That You?
When I was 16 my best friend moved into a house that was really big. One night I stayed the night there and it was already dark. Just my best friend and his 1 year old nephew and I were there. I needed to go to the bathroom, before I left the restroom I washed my hands and then I hear Someone walking down the hallway which was pretty long and all of a sudden I hear this deep tone like "mmmmmuuuuuu." I looked at the door while still washing my hands and I hear someone running back down the hallway the sound did not come from behind from the window it came directly from the door. After that I opened the door, looked into the kitchen and the lights were all off just the way I went into the bathroom. I had this feeling something was in the kitchen somewhere in that dark kitchen something was looking right at me so I ran into the room where my best friend and his nephew were at down at the other side of the hallway and I told him "Yeah real funny trying to scare me." and he said "Man that wasn't me I thought it was you." and I said "No I thought it was you because I heard someone walk to the door "he said "Yeah I did walk to the door but I didn’t make that ugly moaning sound, I thought it was you." so after a few minutes of arguing about it we both promised on GOD that it wasn't either one of us and then we got the chills. I can still remember how it sounded and to think this was just the beginning of other events that happened in that house for the next two years things got worse than that. That was when I was 16 I'm soon to be 27 and every now and then I bring up to my best friend who still is and we still get the chills. I'll tell you even more scary happenings in that house in the near future.

Did He Follow Me?
My ex Husband Shot and killed Himself 4 years ago. The day before Mother's Day. I sobbed and cried when I heard this, as we were still very close Friends. About a week after His death, things started happening in my house I could not explain. I would hear noises I could not figure out what they were. (At this time I was living in Big Sandy,TN.) I was lying on the couch one night watching a movie, with my little dog at my feet. She is a long-legged Fiest in breed, a hunting dog, as in squirrels rabbits, etc. All of a sudden she started growling a deep low growl, and when I looked at her, she was looking up at the ceiling over the tv in the corner. A chill went over me as I saw the terrible expression on her face. She was shaking so bad, she was moving the couch. I kept looking up at the place where she was staring, and saw nothing. Determined not to let this get to me, I tried to quiet her to no avail. Finally I picked her up and started walking to my bedroom to go to bed, as I was at the point of pure fear. It felt just like every demon in Hell was after me, but I didn't run, and I wanted to badly, thinking something was going to grab me, it took all the effort I had not to run. We went to bed, and finally my Son came home. He was 18 at the time, and I sure was glad He came home when He did. After that something else started happening. I had a shelf up on my wall in the hallway, with a small collection of ~Beanie Babies~ on it. One of the Beanies was a bird with a long snout, very cute, and it sat in the middle of some others on the shelf. I happened to find this little bird on the floor one day, and I thought maybe My Son being 6ft 3in at the time had probably bumped the shelf and accidentally knocked it off. After that everyday or every night I would find this bird on the floor. NO others, just this particular one. Then I started thinking...ok, what’s going on here. Then My older sister had come for a weekend visit and I told her of the weird things going on, and she looked at me and said...maybe Ron (my dead husband) was there with me. Needless to say, it scared me badly. Why me? We had been divorced for some years and He never remarried. But had many Family and friends. Then I met my Boyfriend whom I have lived with now for about 3 years. We lived at Fort Pillow apts in Henning, TN. Where He is from. That’s when things got worse. I woke up one morning to see a Man standing in my bedroom doorway looking at me. I had time enough to see He had long black hair like Ron's. Ron was a Cherokee Indian, with the long black hair and beautiful olive skin. As soon as I saw this Man, He vanished. The next time was some weeks later. I was awakened to see the same man standing at the foot of my bed. He was once again just looking at me, but this time, as soon as I saw Him, He ~floated~ out of my room so fast it looked like a blur. That scared me even worse. Every time I would see Him, my Boyfriend was always gone to work already, and it was broad daylight. About a month past, and I was once again lying in bed, just dozing before getting up. I had my eyes closed, and felt someone caressing my face and hair, I could even feel the breath from Him on my ear and face, this time I jumped up and flew out of my room, into the living room. My boyfriend would laugh. As He does not believe in ghosts, and He would listen and just smile at me. The last and most terrifying thing that happened to me was one night during the winter. I was asleep and woke up as I felt my little dog jump up on the bed, as she is very cold natured she has always slept under the covers with me, since she was a puppy. I lifted the covers up without opening my eyes and told her to get under with me. She did, I thought. I rolled over facing the side of the bed she had crawled up on, and stretched my foot out to feel her warmth, she was NOT there. He had gotten in bed with me I know, but I could not see Him. I jumped out of the bed, ran into the living room, and there was my dog asleep on the couch with my Boyfriend, where He had fallen asleep watching tv. We have since bought Our own house and land in Ripley,TN. as of June and finally have gotten moved in the last of July, and so far nothing has happened. I truly hope He has not followed me here and will be at Peace one of these days. I'll never forget Him as I truly loved Him and always will. But He scared me so badly, I wish to never see Him again!...Thank You for reading my ghost story.. :]

The Man
This is my story: On my birthday about 4 years ago I was havin a sleep over and it was late and we were in the livin room watchin tv then 4 no apparent reason I just looked up. When I did I saw a man standing there. AND ALL HE WAS DOIN WAS JUST STANDING THERE STARING AT ME!! Then all he did was walk away into the kitchen. I got up because I thought it was my dad and when I went into the kitchen no one was in there. A freaky thing was was that when you walk up the stairs they squeak and when you walk through the kitchen you can hear the foot prints. But I didn’t hear neither one!! And when I went to go check to see if anyone was awake they weren’t. Everyone was asleep!! I told my mom the next day and she just said that I was probably just tired. Well about 2 years later my mom said that it was late and she was home by herself. She was reading a book and she looked up and saw the man peaking around the corner staring at her. She looked away and looked right back and he was gone. She got up to see if the door was unlocked or the window was open but the doors and windows were all locked!! When she told me about it we came to find out that we described the same man and both times we saw him he was standing in the same spot! Now it’s August and I’m goin into the 9th grade. Well just a few days ago my mom had went out and it was just me and my little brother here. He was in my moms room asleep and I was sitting in the chair in the living room watching tv. Well I started talking on the phone with my boyfriend and once again it was late. Our house gets kind of cold so I was under a blanket. Then THE BLANKET STARTED MOVING UP AND DOWN LIKE SOMEONE RUBBING MY LEG!! I was so scared I made my boyfriend stay on the phone with me and I just sat there frozen. Well it stopped after about 2 minutes and I woke my brother up and made him come into the living room until my mom got home. I told her and she believed me but didn’t really take it seriously. Well I just hope he goes away. I know a lot of people don’t believe in ghosts but most of you who have typed your story and send it to this site know they're real. Everyone who doesn’t will see one day that they are real!!

Ironing Board Terror
Finally we have found a site that seems like it will understand the strange happenings of that day. Chloe and I are best friends. We went round my house one summers day and all was well. We went into my porch to get an ice pop from the freezer. It was such a calm, hot day, without any breeze so we deserved a lolly. As we entered the porch (where the freezer is-random lol) the ironing board that had been leaned against the wall started shaking furiously! It then toppled forward, and just before it touched the ground, it shot straight up again against the wall. It took a while to stop shaking, but we took a lot longer. It was so scary and we will never forget it. We didn't end up having any lollies but ran to tell our parents. Of course (parents being parents) they said we were talking nonsense. "There's no such thing as ghosts"... isn't there.......

Richard
One night I was lying on the couch asleep and I started having a bad dream. I don’t remember the dream completely but I will tell you what I do remember. I was in my bedroom only it wasn’t my bedroom, it was my brothers room at our old house. I was watching TV and talking on the phone with my friend Jennifer. I heard someone walk in my room. I looked over and it was this man just standing there. I think I knew who he was but I didn’t like him, because when he started walking towards me I dropped the phone and started screaming “No, no” over again. Well my mom woke me up and told me I was screaming. She sat with me a few minutes and then asked me who Richard was. I didn’t know what she was talking about. She said that I kept screaming "NO Richard" over and over again really loud. While she was telling me this the phone rang, my mom went and got it and said it was for me. When I got on the phone, I heard my friend Jennifer crying. She said she woke up hearing the phone ring and when she picked it up she heard me screaming and then it hung up. I never told my friend about my dream or anything else weird that has happened to me.

I'm A Believer
One night when I was 16 I was watching my brother (who was 6) and my sister (who was twelve) and her two friends. My brother and I went to bed about midnight. My sister and her two friends were watchin tv when I went to bed. I woke up about 1:30 and I didn’t hear anything so I went downstairs just to check on them. When I went down there the two friends were asleep but my sister wasn’t around. I checked all over the place and couldn’t find her. I went and checked my room and ended up wakin up my brother (he won’t sleep in his room). We were all looking for him and I was about to call the cops when one of the friends said they found her. I followed her voice into my brother’s bedroom and my brother was standing in front of the closet crying. I walked past him and saw my sister in the closet just staring at the opposite end of the closet crying saying “Please, please don’t hurt her” over and over again about 3 times. I shook her and she just jumped, got up and walked out of the room. I made the two friends go to bed and then my brother and I went into my sister’s room. I asked her what happened and she said that they were telling ghost stories and she told them about the time my brother I saw a ghost in my brothers room when my grandma was babysitting. She said the other two girls dared her to go into the room and she did. She never believed my brother and I until that night.

I was 16 at the time so it was 3 years ago. I was in my brother’s bathroom (I had to go through his room to get into the bathroom) brushing my teeth. I heard a man’s voice in his closet. It just kept whispering. I couldn’t move so I just stood there listening. It whispered for about 2 minutes and I couldn’t figure out what he was saying. I started to cry cause I had no way to get out of the bathroom without walking right in front of his closet. After about 2 minutes of talking my brother woke up screaming, not worrying about the voice anymore I ran to get my brother out of bed and when I picked him up he looked at me with such horror in his face and said "He wants you, get out”. We both ran out of the bedroom and told my mother but she did not believe us. My brother still has that room but he sleeps with me every night and neither one of us uses that bathroom anymore. More things have happened to both of us since then, I will tell you about them another time.

Evil Twin
One weekend when I was sixteen my mother went out of town and left my 3 sisters, my brother and I at home with our grandmother. We lived in a house with a long hallway. At the end of the hallway was my sister’s room (they all 3 shared). The last door on the left was the bathroom and the room before that was my brother’s room. The first night that my mother was gone I was laying on the couch watching TV and my grandma was trying to get the kids in bed. But my sisters would not pick up their toys and my brother would not stop crying because he did not wanna go to bed. My grandma finally got tired of trying so she asked me to get them in bed. I walked down the hall and past my brother’s room and saw him sitting on the bed crying so I just went ahead and went to the girls’ room to get them into bed first. (The bathroom door was shut) After I got the girls into bed I was walking out of their room and was in front of the bathroom when the door opened and my brother came walking out, but I could still hear him crying from his bedroom. I grabbed my brother’s hand and we went to his room and stood in the doorway. We was “my brother" sitting on the bed crying and when he saw us he started laughing in a man’s voice. My brother and I just stood there, we couldn’t move or scream for what seemed like forever but finally I picked up my brother and ran into the living room where my grandma was and told her there was a ghost in his room. She went in there and didn’t see anything and neither did my brother and I.

Ghost In Da Woods
One day me and my mate Lucy was walking through what was known to be the most haunted woods in Crawley. We were sitting there at 12'oclock at night seeing if it was true. We got so bored we decided to play a game. Lucy had brought her mirror and said 'wanna play candyman' so I said yeah might as well then once we did her mirror went weird and a face appeared. We jumped and screamed until we fell down then we got up. It was pitch black, all of a sudden a white figure strolled past a set of trees. We thought it was just our eyes playing tricks on us but then Lucy complained of someone hitting her shoulder from behind so we turned round and standing right in front of us was the ghost. We ran out of the woods to tell someone.

My Ghostly Experience
I used to do a cleaning job for an older woman whom was an alcoholic, I felt sorry for her and did her house cleaning for her weekly. One week I didn't go to do her cleaning so the next week thought I'd call in to visit her. I drove to her road and started driving down her street towards her house, it was 10.00a.m., suddenly a voice in my head told me it was too late and that I should pick up my daughter from the babysitter, another voice told me to go and see her, at the last minute I decided to call in to see her another day and went to pick up my daughter. That day all I thought about was this old lady, that evening her daughter in law phoned me to say that she had passed away, committed suicide, reckoned it had happened around 10.00a.m. that morning. That really spooked me and does to this very day.

There Are Such Things As Ghosts
Well, it all began Saturday night at my friends sleepover party. We tried to contact the dead, and it definitely worked! Anyway, we were upstairs in the dining room with a lot of candles lit and the point of the game was that we were supposed to be playing was to talk about someone you knew that died. After everyone was done talking about a relative or a friend that died we were supposed to wait and see if we get a sign from that person or not. If you get a sign from the person you were trying to contact, that means that that person will watch over you and protect you from now on. I have always believed in ghosts and the supernatural but I wasn’t sure this would work. Well, to my surprise, it did!!! Sunday morning when I got home, I found a box sitting on my bed. It was a box I have never seen in my life before. When I opened it, it was pictures of the person I was trying to contact! The weirdest thing was that no one I knew took these pictures. I was freaked out but at least I knew I would be being watched over until the day I die.

Voices Calling
Hi, my name is Ian Babin, and I live in Louisiana. On several occasions, I have been hiking alone in the woods behind my house (they are gone now, but this happens out of the woods, too) and I have heard voices whispering my name. Right in my ear. I have never run a quarter mile as fast as I did the first time it happened, and if I never hear or see anything ghostly again, I never will. But, I kept going out into the woods afterwards, and the same thing kept happening. Eventually, I just ignored the voices, and they didn't bother me again on that trip. Now, every once in awhile, I'll be outside, and I'll hear someone CALLING my name from the area where the woods used to be, and I'll kind of smile and wonder what it is that's calling for me.

Creepy Lady
When I was 4 my entire family was in the living room of our house watching a movie when I got thirsty. I got up and went to the kitchen to get a drink of water. Between the kitchen and the living room there was a doorway that led to the rooms in the house. It was in this area as I was drinking my water that I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned to see what it was, mind you my entire family was on the sofa bed and I was in the kitchen. What I saw was the transparent form of a lady gliding down the hall. I knew she wasn’t part of the family. She was going toward the room where my mom and I slept. I don’t know why I wasn’t afraid but I picked a knife up off the counter and threw it and it passed right through her. My mother always said don’ let the boogeyman get you. Perhaps she should have said the boogeywoman. This entire event took place in the Del Paso Heights area of Sacramento, California.

Ghost On The Freeway
One early morning in 1993, the time was a little bit after 1:00 am, I was driving an ill friend to his house to drop him off. I began to venture back home, this was in San Diego, California near the La Jolla area on a freeway called the 52 near to the freeway 5. I had just exited off the freeway 5 and merged onto the 52 freeway going eastbound. Shortly after that about a mile and a half I was in the far left lane and I saw a transparent woman running across the freeway and all dressed up in what appeared to be white clothing carrying a purse and wearing heels, she had long flowing hair with the wind blowing through it. It looked as if she was wearing clothes from the 1970's era. She appeared to be running into the center divide completely across the freeway which had hedges and there wasn't a vehicle or any vehicles parked in that area whatsoever. She was dressed up and had a white transparency ghost like appearance about her, because you could see right through her, and I remember she appeared immediately in front of me and then she ran into the tree hedges and disappeared. As I was driving I saw that the wind was blowing very hard because the trees were moving so abruptly. I had a strange sense of feeling at that time, and just realized that I had seen a ghost for the very first time in my life.

Ghost Story In Texas
Hello, I've been reading your website for about 2 hours now and just had to write to you. My boyfriend and I just bought a home and have moved out of his parents home in which we were living with them for the last 1 1/2 years. His father which is Full blood Native American built there home by hand by himself when Tom was a very young child of 5 they moved into the home. I became very ill and his mother is a nurse and wanted us to move in with them so she could care for me and our family, Their house is so haunted I don't even know where to start.
The room that Tom and I took seems to be the worst room, the ghost would get upset with us if we turn off the TV and went to bed before 10 pm, it would make noises, and when I would raise my head to look around they would stop and start right back up again when ever my head hit the pillows. While I was in the middle of my illness, Tom woke up and said there was a person sitting on my side of the bed, bent over ( right where i woluld sit to put my shoes on). He said he leaned over to see if I was getting sick and needed help, and when he did he felt me lying beside him asleep. He looked back up and the person was still there ( this was right after his grandfather had pasted away). The same night his sister saw the same man in the living room changing the channels on the big Tv in there around 3 am. And a couple of months later Tom's brother seen the ghost in bed on my side again sleeping with Tom, Tom was off that day and his brother asked Tom where I was, he told him I had left for work a long time ago, he said he just seen me asleep in bed with a bandana on my head. Tom told him I didn't wear them to bed, what he saw was not me but the ghost.
Our sons would not stay in that room unless one of us was home at the time, the ghost would mess with them and their friends. Everyone in the family knows the house has a ghost, they are seen by everyone. They don't seem to want to hurt anyone, they just want to be heard sometimes, and they like to hide things also, I dont know how many remotes have come up missing in that house. I just hope they all stayed at his parent's house and did not move with us. But I do think I will miss them just a little bit.
Thanks for letting me Talk about this,
Karie from Princeton, Texas

The New Building
Hi, my name is Vheron, and I'm from the Philippines. Ever since I was young I could see spirits surrounding me at school, mall, parks everywhere...Now I'm at my 3rd year at High school, at the said school there is a new building that is being built. It is a new fastfood center, everyone has been passing rumours about seeing a ghost of a student lurking in the second floor. Last November 26, 2004 we had a youth camp in our school and as everyone was sleeping I slipped out of the gym and brought a camera with me and went to the building. It was really dark in there and you couldn't see anyhting...as I was walking I feel goosebumps slowly creeping through me. As I walk inside the Building I haven't seen anything I was focusing my cam in this space where there are tables and chairs I saw someone very solid sitting in the dark, my only mistake is that I moved my cam when I focused it back it was gone. I switch the lights on and I was the only one there...I tried to locate where the spirit went but some of the teachers notice the lights in the building was on and went in the building...after that experience I watched the video and there you could really see the image of that person...When I showed it to my friends they swore never to go to that building and have ghost huntings...

He Likes To Watch
I have had several "encounters" or unexplainable things happen to me but the one that stands out the most is...one night around 5:00 or 6:00 pm I was sitting on the edge of my bed talking to my friend on the phone. I had the feeling that someone was looking at me, so I looked up and standing in my doorway was a young boy about age 15 or 16 just staring at me. He was not "see through" or illuminated by a white light...he was just like you or I. I asked him pretty rudely if I could help him (I thought it was one of my brother's friends, and it was pretty rude of him to just stand there staring at me). He just turned and walked toward my brothers room which was kiddie corner to mine. I told my friend to hold on a second because I thought this guy was standing off to the side and was going to pop out and scare me so I was going to surprise him first but when I jumped out of my door (looking like an idiot I might add) no one was there. I opened my brother's bedroom door but his room was dark. I turned on the light..no one. I went out to the living room and asked my mom who was here. She said just her, my brother and myself. I told her what happened but of course she didn't believe me.....until she had her own experience. If you were in the living room sitting by the far wall that is adjacent to the street you can see out into the kitchen and into the family room. Every once in awhile while sitting on the couch that faces the family room you can see someone peering out from behind the wall looking out at you. My son has told me several times he see's an older gentleman in a wheelchair (which could be my grandfather who passed away in 1992). When younger he would actually have a full conversation with someone but when asked who he was talking to he would say "Casper, can't you see him?" We no longer live in this house which I am very thankful for as so many things happened and I would have to take a day off of work to type them.

Help! Do We Have A Visitor?
I am new to this. I am a mother of three teenage boys. I have been trying to research to find out if we have a ghost. We moved into a home built in 1938. It is a two story home. We had only been living in the house a few months when my middle son (14 at the time) kept complaining about some one in his room. I checked with everyone and of course no one was admitting to being in there. In Oct 03, my middle son came down the stairs and told me it was very cold in his room. I went upstairs to check but felt nothing out of the ordinary. Two weeks later my youngest son (13 at the time) came running down the stairs. He was very frightened. He told me a woman wearing "weird" clothes was trying to talk to him. We have all experienced doors physically opening in front of our eyes, lights turn on, or off. Things get misplaced then rediscovered in an area that it shouldn't be in. My now 15yr old, and 17 yr old are telling me they hear voices. If any readers have suggestions please e-mail me at a-sterling@sbcglobal.net.
Thank you.

Let Me Out!
It all started at Missy's house. Missy says she has had many encounters with the paranormal. But this is only one story.
Missy's story:
When I first moved into my house, I thought there was definitely some strange things about the house. But I had never thought of my house as being haunted. One day I was upstairs in the room that I shared with my older sister, Heather, I was watching t.v. My t.v. sits in a little box that looks like a t.v. cabinet built into my closet so I can see into it. But anyway, I was watching t.v. and this white thing started forming to the right side of the t.v. As I sat there, stunned, it turned into what looked like a pale human face with no body. I ran downstairs as fast as I could. Of course, when I told my parents, they said it was just my imagination.
Then I met Erica, my best friend. About a year after knowing her, I got in trouble for something, so I had to go to my room. I turned on my t.v. It stayed on for about two seconds, then turned off. I looked in the closet to find that the cord was unplugged. That's when the really scary things started happening. One day, when Erica and I were up in my room, we thought we heard what sounded like a little doll's voice coming from the closet. It said, "Let me out, let me out". We thought maybe it was a coincidence. But then, the day after that, me and my little sister Kristine were home alone. First we heard clicking sounds coming from the kitchen, and our dog Precious ran out there and started barking and growling at nothing in particular. Then we heard a voice upstairs. It was screaming, "Let me out!!! Let me out!!!" Me and Kristine were really freaked out. Then, after that, I was playing with a toy wand that Kristine had, and I was hitting it on a balloon. Then it broke into three pieces in mid-air. Most of the strange happenings were comig from my closet. So I opened the closet door. Scary things have started happening on a regular basis now. Pictures my family swears they never took, moving pillows, and invisible forces jumping on my bed. Erica says strange things have been happening at her house since I opened the closet door. I think the ghost moved to Erica's house, after all, we only live across the street from each other.
Erica's story:
One day, when I got home from school, my Grandma's medicine bottle was sitting on the counter (I live with my Grandparents), and when she got home she said she hadn't even gotten her medicine out that day. Then, the night after that, I was getting ready to go to bed when I thought I smelled baby powder in my room. Then, when I was in bed, I felt something touching my head, and a few minutes later a game I had turned on all by itself, like someone had pressed the button on it.
Now, all we can do is pray that the ghosts go away and stay away.

Strange Happenings
I had just moved in to a new house in Colorado. I still live there today, in fact I'm writing this in that very house. Well anyway, my family loved the house, and thought it was beautiful, but after some strange happenings, the house felt very different to us. The first one happened in the kitchen. My mom was looking in the drawer where we keep the dog treats and she couldn't find them, she took everything out of the drawer and still couldn't find it, my mom was the only one home. She went to go do some other stuff and came back fifteen minutes later and looked in the same drawer to get the dog bowls and found the dog treats right there in the drawer. My mom said she felt shivers going up her spine after she saw it. Another time my dad was heating his coffee in the microwave and while it was heating he went to the bathroom. He came back and found his coffee steaming hot and on the counter. He asked my whole family if they had set it there but none of us had. Another time my mom was making dinner and got out the peas, She went to ask my dad if he could help make dinner and they both came back to find the peas back in the fridge. I had an experience myself, I was getting my clothes that I was going to wear out and laid them on the floor, I went to go get a belt I wanted to wear downstairs and when I came back my clothes were gone. I looked in the drawer where I got them out and they were folded up perfectly and in the drawer. Then the really creepy stuff happened. I was putting on some makeup and in the mirror I saw a young boy making a face at me then yelling na na na na boo boo you can't catch me. I ran out of my room and ever since I've been scared to look in the mirror. My parents also had seen the boy and an older man which seemed to be the father. We were getting very scared and asked the boy and his father to leave us alone, but they didn't. Our dogs would bark at things that weren't there, and we'd look at where they were looking and a shadow would run off. We had are house blessed and none of that stuff ever happened again. Even though all that stuff happened we just couldn't leave the house we had gotten to attached to it. That is why I'm still there today, right now.

Strange Things
It was Feb. 28, it was my grandfather's birthday. We went to my grangfather's house and celebrated his birthday there...after we ate.....we went to my grandmother's room and watched t.v. (namely "scariest places on earth...channel 24..AXN)...while me and my cousins were wathching the t.v. suddenly turned off but the remote control was on the bed of my grandfather....then suddenly we wondered...maybe it was our grandfather visiting us and trying to see if we are having a good time at his birthday......then again....the lights turned off and we all run through the dining room....we were like shouting/screaming on top of our voices and then it was like there was no electricity because all of the lights turned down and we just kept quiet and we tried not to be scared....not so creepy...NOT!...that was so scary what if things could get any worse than that....well just watch out and be careful because you don't know what might happen.

Christmas Ghost
Hey, this is my story it might not really scare you but if you were there you would be very scared because I was. It was a Chistmas night and my sister and the family went to the grocery store to get some egg nog (of course non alcoholic).
So anyways back to the story, I was sitting there on the couch with my cat and he just started to get mad. I didn't understand so I didn't think nothing of it so I ignored it. I heard my cat and it sounded like he was hissing so I got up and looked around, nobody was there and just then at the side of my eye I saw a black figure in the mirror. I was about to scream when it just disappeared. I was so scared I could not even talk, the image was in my head. My family came home and they said that I was pale and I was sweating and breathing very fast. For about a week the thing kept on bugging me and I finaly told my mom and she told me that the same thing had happend to my brother just about 1 year ago but she said he was worse. To Be Continued....................................

Margaux's Gift
My sister Margaux has always had the gift of communicating with spirits. Two years ago, she moved into my apartment during college and began seeing things. I never noticed anything in my apartment but one night, she was in her room and called me in. She said she had a terrible headache all of a sudden and that the Tv had turned to static and she could see a face in it. We ran out of the room and went into the kitchen. She looked pale and sweaty. Margaux told me she had seen a dark figure in the hallway about the same time. This really freaked me out so I suggested that we go to my friend's apartment that was 2 floors below us. The next day, I moved out of that apartment and went to another building two blocks away.

Roommate
I can't remember it clearly cause it was long ago, but I do remember most of my first encounter with a ghost. It started when me, my mom, my stepdad, and my sister moved into our new house....nothing fantastic about the house it was a regular house one story 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. Although the house seemed normal there was one thing that scared me.....was how old the house was. This small quiet house was about 150 years old, so imagine how scared I was to go into that spooky old house. So let me get to the creepy part. It was a Saturday night in the month of Halloween, I was in my room reading one of those goosebumps books when I heard the water running in my bathroom and along with some one humming a quiet tune....I thought it could be my stepbrother that just moved into our house. I went into the bathroom to find the lights out and no one, so I didn't give it much thought. That night I remember my mom telling me about 20 years ago a girl the same age as mine slept in the same room I had and had died about a month ago, after hearing this I went to bed only to wake up 1 hour later to see a white figure standing in my room!!!! It looked like a girl, like the girl that my mom told me about!!!! She stood there for 2 minutes and then vanished. From that day on I knew I had a room mate.

The Boy On The Edge Of My Bed
Hi, I'm Kristen and I got a strange story to tell. I'm almost 13 now, but this happened a few years ago. So we moved out of our house and into a rental house. The rental house was at least 5 years old, and there were 2 families that lived there before us. The very first people that lived there was the mom, dad, little sister, and the older brother about my age at the time. The second person that lived there was my dad's good friend by the name of Bob, and the third was of course us: My mom, dad, little brother, and me. So anyways I got to choose my room and of course it was the haunted one. I always use to see figures and hear talking and crying, usually crying though. Every time something like this would happen I would end up screaming as loud as can be, and my parents would come running in, and I would tell them what happened and they wouldn't believe me about the things I was seeing and hearing because they didn't believe in ghosts at the time. One night I was having trouble sleeping, and I finally fell asleep until I woke up to crying and I looked where it was coming from and there was a little boy sitting there at the end of my bed, and at first I thought it was my little brother then I noticed that my brother wasn't as big as he was, and I screamed as loud as possible until my parents came running in, and I told them what happened and they just told me that I was dreaming, but I wasn't. I remember another time when I woke up to the same cry I would usually wake up to, and there was the same boy I saw at the end of my bed, but this time he sitting in my closet. So I remember most of everything that happened, but I can't remember all, but my parents remember everything. So we finally moved out and into our new house. When we moved, my dad told his friend Bob ( the guy that lived there before us) about all the things that happened to me, and he said "Oh, I forgot to tell you this, but the family that lived there before me the little boy of the family had died in your daughters room from cancer". So now my parents feel bad about not believing me. So that's my story that I will never forget.

Ouija Scare
One night me and my friend jessica were on the Ouija Board contacting our grandmother. I was about to ask a question when my stereo suddenly came on, but before it started playing something, I turned it off and we ran outside my room. Then, we went back in and when we sat down I started seeing my grandmother's face on Jessica and it would not go away until I got scared and said to turn on the light. Then, my grandma tapped me on the shoulder two times and flicked the lights on and off. We were so scared that we said good bye and put it away.

Angel Pub
I am only 12 but a MASSIVE believer in ghosts ... BIG TIME!!!!!!!!! Anyways, I have 3 horses and on a Wednesday night we ALWAYS go to the pub (the lowes arms). We thought we should have a change anyway. so we went to the angel pub. It was great, the food was fantastic with everything going!! So, I went to the toilet to wash my hands as I had just been to the farm. So I went in and decided to go on the toilet so I wouldn't have to go in during my meal. There were 3 toilets and 3 of us went in. Me, mum and my friend from the farm. I went in the middle toilet but, the door was closed but I just pushed the door open and didn't think anything of it. I came out and waited for my meal. During that time my friend Chloe's mum Anita was telling us about the place how it is extremely old and EXTREMELY haunted! She said the middle toilet of the girls' toilets was haunted man!!! AS my mum (Sam) said that was the toilet I went in!! Anita said the door was always closed. As it was when I went in. She also told us a story about the week before how a barmaid went in to the toilets alone to put her make up on. Anyway, she was doing her left eye of make up when the middle door of the toilets FLEW open and she heard a man laughing!!!! Well lets just say she didn't go back in to do her right eye of make up!! Anita also said that when ever you go in to the toilets the middle door is permenantly closed not locked, just closed. So me and my friend being dare devils went in to the toilets and the middle door was closed but just said it could have been the previous person. We went in and opened the door we then went out. The door was jammed open so the wind or latches could not open it. We went in a few minutes later and no one had gone in there. The door was closed. Just on its own. So Anita being a good friend of Pete the owner of the pub, said that he had had ghost investigators in and a file on what had happened. So .... I read it out to every one because every one was too scared to read it themselves. So off I went. There were claims that the pub years ago was used as stables to keep horses (a woman also said she saw a brown horse) the pub was a SLAUGHTER HOUSE!!!!! People had saw a man who had been battered almost to death, blind folded tied up and left in a corner for ever. A woman who had had her throat sliced open and was left there. And a young boy with shoulder length blonde hair and bright blue eyes who seemed to be saying : help me escape from him he's coming to get me!!!! So we were nearly crying with what I read and what they heard. At the back of the book was 2 photos of orbs that have been spotted!!!!!! I was scared as was everyone else but all I wanted to do was stay and see them because that's the sort of person I am. My ghostly dream is to communicate with a ghost and become friends with a ghost and find what it's like and how they do the things they do.

Haunted Trailer
A few years ago after my retirement, I purchased a 5th wheel trailer, that had been previously owned, but in excellent condition. There were many places my wife and I wanted to see and I had always wanted to hook up my trailer and just go. A few weeks after we bought it, off we went. The first night we stayed in it was when I realized something wasn't right about that trailer. My wife was up reading, as I was drifting off to sleep. All of a sudden I hear her saying, what was that?! I asked her what she was talking about and before she could reply, I heard it. This horrible scratching sound, coming from the bathroom. By the time I could work myself out of bed, it had stopped. It sounded like a person in our bathroom, scratching on the inside of the door. I knew there couldn't be anyone in there, but the wife and I both heard it and I had to look. I opened the door a little and the door flew open with a burst of frigid air. For the rest of the night, we heard scratchings a few more times.
The next day we started off and spent a full day traveling. We stopped for breaks a few times and was in and out of the trailer during the day, using it when we stopped to fix our meals. By the time we stopped for the night it was getting dark, we were later than we wanted to be, but got delayed by some road construction and then a nasty accident involving a big rig. Once we got situated and were ready to open up the trailer, my wife opened the door and gave a little screech! She came back out and told me to go in there and look. I stopped what I was doing, remembering the problems we had the night before, not sure what it could be now. Well when I stepped up in there, I could smell this horrible stench. Best I could describe it is just death. Then it took me a minute to figure out what I was seeing. It looked like a body, layed out in the door way of the bathroom. After a bit I realized I was seeing our bedding, all rolled up like. Now I admit I can get a little crazy behind the wheel still, but there's no way you are going to get me to believe that I had driven so badly to cause the bedding to fly off and land where it did, as well as the bathroom door to come open. I went back outside and my wife was sitting in the pick up looking very pale. I asked if she was okay and she told me she would not sleep in that trailer. I have to admit, I was pretty relieved she was saying that, because I didn't want to stay in there either. I went in and grabbed some clothes and a few toiletries, trying to avoid looking at the blankets. At least the smell wasn't as strong. The nearest motel was another hour down the road, but at that point I would have driven further to get out of there. The next day we headed home. Sold the trailer. The next one we bought, we didn't have any more troubles.

Holiday Ghost
In spirit of the holidays, I'll tell you about something that goes on in my family around the holidays. My cousin brad was killed by a drunk driver over 12 years ago. He was 10 at the time of his death. A few months after he died it was Thanksgiving and the family was all together at my grandparents place. We believe Brad was there too. Strange things started going on. The TV was turning on and off. My Grandma had us turn it off, and then a little while later it would be on again. We did this about 6 or 7 times throughout the day. People kept complaining of being poked, and hair being pulled (One of the many things Brad used to do when he was alive to mess with us). Pretty soon, all we could talk about was Brad. It hadn't been long since his death and we all still cried about him a lot and that day was no exception. With all the strange things that were going on, we all figured it was Brad. Another thing that happened that day... Brad and I and our other cousin all got to move from the kid table to the grownup table the year before. Well, at the spot where Brad had eaten the year before, my Dad was sitting. About halfway through the meal, my Dad started choking, his drink had gone down the wrong pipe. He said he couldn't explain what had happened, but he believed Brad was there with us and was trying to take the spot Dad was sitting in. Dad never would say just what had happened. Ever since that first Thanksgiving after Brad's death, every holiday he seems to come around.

Haunting in Long Beach
When I was about 7, my family moved from Rockaway Beach, NY to Long Beach NY. We moved into a small beach bungalow that had two bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room and front foyer (which was converted into bedrooms for my older and younger brothers). Well, the very first day we went to this house, I pushed open the fence (a standard metal fence), the gate flew back, hit me in the forehead and I fell flat on my back bleeding. We should have known. After sometime of living here, we would hear strange noises in the attic, and we would see shadows on the ceilings...we knew it had to be something ghostly, since we had NO trees or bushes, to make the shadows (we lived in a beach town, and our yard was sand). So many things happened, so forgive me if I sound scattered. Our bathroom had a separate standup shower with a glass door. Well, I stepped into it, because my brother dared me too and the door latched by itself. He pulled and pulled and couldn't open it!
I was in there screaming to get out and banging on the door. And then like nothing, it just unlatched. Like something you see or hear about in a movie. To this day, I DO NOT take showers (only baths). I rarely ever get sick. I mean maybe once every few years...I'll get a cold. The ENTIRE time we lived in this house I stayed sick. I was back and forth to the ER, strep throat, flu, ear infections, headaches, severe vomiting, etc... I even passed out on our front steps once. It was crazy. Then other things started happening. The noises in the attic increased. Things were starting to happen to our family. Our car was stolen, my mother tried to kill herself, we uncovered what appeared to be a "tar pit" in our basement, which was also strange, the door to the basement was on my parents floor under the carpet. Then the really scary stuff started happening.... My uncle was staying with us, and he was sleeping in my bedroom (he was sick) and my sister and I slept in the living room. Well, he called to my mother to tell the girls to stay out of the room. My mother said there wasn't anyone in there, and he described a little girl standing beside the dresser. My mother never mentioned it again, thinking he was just sick and maybe seeing things. Well a few weeks later, my sister was sick, and she had to sleep on the couch so my parents could watch her. Well, she told my mom, "look at the little girl over there" Over there was the corner of the room, where we had a decorative floor mirror. The little girl was standing beside the mirror holding a balloon, and smiling. That really freaked my mother out, because my sister described the SAME little girl that my uncle did. Then more things started happening to us...and fast... My parents were constantly fighting (physically and verbally) Our car was stolen (I may have mentioned that) The noises were increasing, and our lives seemed desperate, not peaceful. Well one night, I was sent to the
corner for talking during the movie (HUGE NO NO!). Well, when I was in the corner, I heard one of the books fall off my closet shelf, I looked up, and the books were flying off the shelf, one by one. Not spilling, like you'd think, they were being plucked off one by one. I screamed and my dad came running in and he saw it, and a few weeks later, we moved out. I think we lived there for a year or so. We moved to a new house, and it was like we felt the peace. No more fighting or arguing or violence or shadows!

Things In My House
One morning when I was at my house, I was barely waking up when I heard someone call my name. When I got up to see who was there, there was no one because I live by myself. I had thought it was my mom. Then later that night I was in the living room watching TV when I saw my refrigerator door open. Then I heard noises up in my room and I went to check what was there. The bathtub in the bathroom was overflowing. Then my TV turned off by itself. The next day I went to the library to find out the history of my house. A lady had died by drowning in the bathtub. The next day I moved out, because later that night what freaked me the most was that a white figure of an old lady came into my room and then slowly drifted away.

The Ex-Husband
My name is Angela and I live with my ex-husband's sister Jane and my 2 sons and her 3 sons. Jane and I get along great, we both hated her brother for leaving me and kids. Paul, my ex, committed suicide on 4/22/04 and his body was not found until 5/10/04. We had him cremated, as he wished. Now here's the FREAKY part, Jane picked up his ashes and brought them to our house. After her mom got home, which was a couple of hours later, she took his ashes to her house. She said that she was glad because she was getting a weird feeling having them in the house. Later that night after Jane got home from school, we were sitting in the kitchen talking to a couple of friends, and we all heard a strange noise coming from my bedroom. We went and opened the door and my TV was turning on and off by itself. One of my friends unplugged the TV and it still kept doing it. Jane yelled "PAUL STOP IT NOW!!" and it did stop. Then it felt like someone pushed me into the door as they
were leaving the room, but noone went past me. I think I did something to make him mad.

The Twin Alice
I have lived in my present house for about nine months now. It's the perfect house(structure wise) and I love it. There is only two problems, there is a train track about 100ft away and its haunted. Here is the story. When I first moved in there 01-04 I was five months pregant with my second son. My husband was away for work and would not be back until July of 04, after the baby would be born (4-4-04. So, it was just me and my six year old. Which was cool, cause I am used to staying by myself and it has never bothered me. I've never got scared and I have never believed in ghost until now. As many of you women know sleeping while your are pregnant is a very challenging job, its not comfortable and you have to get up about every hour to go to the bathroom, so I spent alot of late nights up by myself, in my room, thinking with the lights off. Often time I would hear noises that sounded like a small animal or child running through the hall, which I just justified
as it being an old house, old furnace, and the fact that we lived so close to a train track would naturaly make the house creek and crack more. No big deal. Then I would begin to be awakened by flickering lights from around the house( not my actual lights, just a beams of light flickering) I justified that as the train going by and blocking the steet light. Again no big deal. As time went on, about two months of living in the house things started to get a little creepier. Two of my cabbage patch dolls from my collection went missing, two weeks later one showed up the other never did. I woke in the middle of the night cause I thought my son was up watching TV in his room cause I heard laughing and when I went in there nothing was on and he was sound asleep, but he had all his covers on him and was huddled up like he was freezing to death. So I let him sleep with me. After he began to sleep with me night after night he said he got better sleep cause the firefighters
weren't always looking in his windows. That totally freaked me out, but my son does have a vivid imagination and if there is a ghost in the house it wasn't hurting us. So things continued and in April I had my second son, while in the hospital a nurses aid that I had not met yet came in for me to fill out my papers to get the babies S.S. card and birth certificate, I did and when she looked at the address she remarked that her great grandmother and her twin sister grew up in that same house. (the town I'm from is really small). I didn't have much to say, she went on and ironically she never came in the room again, I didn't see her at all in the hospital. I didn't think much of that cause it was the day before I was going to leave anyways. So, three months went by and I received nothing in the mail about the birth certificates or S.S. cards. When I called the department of vital statics they said they have no record of the birth that had been sent in and the hospital was
supposed to send that stuff in, when I called the hospital they had no record of me signing the papers. Then I started to wonder so I went to the library to archive. As I was looking through old newspapers from the late 1800's on micrfinch, I discovered that on the property that my house now sits on used to be an old house where two twin girls lived with there mother(a widow). Well, one night a fire broke out in the house and only one twin was saved. Her name was Alice and she was six years old. I found this out about two weeks before my husband came home and after he came home it all seemed to stop, we have had no paranormal occurances. I don't know if it's because she knows now that I know the story and that is what she wanted, or the fact that there is a male in the home which would not make the homelife seem so much like her's since her mother was a widow. Anyways, that is my story and Alice has made a believer of ghost out of me.

Shasta Ghost
I live in Northern California, around the Shasta area, been here my whole life. It was a few years after my wife and I got married and we moved into a nice 2 story place. It was a pretty old place, but the previous owners had made lots of renovations and put in a pool in the back and everything. We'd been living there for at least 6 months before anything weird happened. One night we were sleeping and my wife just flips out. After she calmed down she told me that something had been messing with her foot. She said it felt like a dog, like licking, almost biting on it. I assumed she had just had a very vivid dream looked around the room to make her feel better. A couple months later my wife had the flu and was off work at home when she called me at work. She was hysterical, saying something about a banging noise coming from upstairs. At first I thought maybe somebody was trying to break in and told her to call the police and she told me no, it wasn't that, she just wanted me to come home. Now my wife is usually a level headed very smart lady and so I was really getting worried. She sounded delusional. I asked her if she had a fever and she just started crying and hung up on me. Luckily a couple hours later it was time to head home so once I got home I pulled in the drive and found her sitting in her car out front. She told me she was too scared to be inside. I went in and looked around and got her to come in with me. She told me she had heard somebody walking around upstairs, then banging noises, then a scream. She said it was so faint, and it happened so fast, but she's positive that's what it was. Probably a few weeks later it was Christmas and we had my brother and his family over. His kids are 11 and 8, both boys. They had come in from playing in the snow outside and went upstairs to watch TV in the spare room. They weren't up there 10 minutes when we heard a bang and then screaming and both boys came flying down the stairs like something was after them. The looks on their faces just chilled me to the bone. The younger one wouldn't talk, he was just crying and the older one said that they were sitting there watching TV when they heard somebody walking around in the other bedroom, then in the hall. When the footsteps got to their door they said it just stopped. They couldn't see anybody there. He said then it got really cold in there and they could hear like a growling noise, and then the door slammed shut. The oldest got the door open and before they made it out the door he said it felt like somebody just shoved him and his brother out the door. Since then, when they come over, those boys refuse to go upstairs. I admit, I've occasionally heard like footsteps upstairs in the night and sometimes it gets really cold, especially in the hallway and in that room, but really, the only thing I've had happen to me is one day I was working in the garage with all the doors open, it was a nice spring day. I heard barking behind me, like it was coming from the backyard. I went out there and looked, thinking somebody's dog had gotten back there, but didn't see anything. A few minutes later I would swear that I could hear a dog panting, right beside me, but there was nothing there. My wife refuses to go in the spare room and we keep it closed most of the time. It's basically a storage room. If I ever have to go in there for anything I have to say, it is kind of creepy.

The Watcher
Years and years ago when I was just a young girl I would see some strange shadow come into my room and stand at the foot of my bed. It would happen so often I really started to hate when bedtime came around. It would stand there so long, just watching me. Finally I told my mom about it and she got upset and said she'd seen it too and she was sorry that I had to go through that. I'm now 30 years old and haven't had any other kind of ghostly experiences.

Indian Hospital
I am native and I live near a town called Cardston. A few months back they set up security cameras at the old hospital (which is now a women’s shelter).
Anyways when they were reviewing the tape the strangest thing happened. On the camera were two native children playing on the floor when all of a sudden two "spirit" children come walking right out of the wall and towards the children. There have also been stories about the laundry room which used to be the morgue....

Bloody Mary
Me and my cousin were reading about bloody mary. We went into my room and did the chosen ritual in the dark. Later that evening we saw bloody mary in the mirror shrieking at us. It was terrifying. I hope you agree!

La Llorona
Once in Guatemala I was walking with my two cousins when I tied my shoes and they decided to ditch me. So I started walking home and I was like I’m gonna hide from them, since they ditched me. So I hid in a river that was like almost right behind my house. So I sat on a rock and they where scared to go there so I knew they weren’t gonna go there especially if it was dark. So I sat there for a little while, no one was around, they were at a party up the hill, except my grama. So then I hear some one scream and cry, and it sounded like a lady. So I turned to see what it was and a hand grabbed me and the lady had like a horse face or something. So after I like froze for like 5 minutes, then I ran to the house and told my grama. She said that it was the Llorona that I saw and that it usually popped out if you are alone or if you are a kid.

An Unwanted Visitor
Me and my best friend Danielle were at her house alone. We decided to be a little daring and go into her living room look into the mirror and say bloody mary as many times until we heard something. We went into her kitchen and her dog’s bone that the dog was chewing shot across the floor and the chair moved. Then as we were getting nervous we heard a drip in her upstairs bathroom then shortly after we left to go watch my sister. On the way, there were shadows and different unexplainable things following us. I never believed in the story, as many people didn't, but I guess I’m a believer now because I saw her face!

My Great Grandfather
I have always believed in spirits ghosts etc. This encounter with my Great Grandfather happened when I was about 8 years old or so but I didn't realize it was real until I was almost 18 years old. My older brother and I were at a friend’s house and just sitting around joking and laughing when the topic of ghosts and haunted places came up my brother and I both started talking about a night when we were young.
The night we spoke of was really cold and we were at our Grandmothers house in Virginia, we were visiting for Spring Break, we had gone to bed in the attic which also served as a room for us. We both thought the other was asleep so we didn't make any noise, we both heard foot steps coming up the stairs and thought it was our father, who it was, was sorta shocking, it was our Great Grandfather I don't know how I knew it was him because I had never met him or seen a picture of him, he had been dead for several years, I just knew it was him, we also smelled pipe tobacco and no one else in the house smoked a pipe. He then came into the room and looked out the window towards the river and then came over to my bed and looked at me, then he moved over to where my brother was lying and looked at him, then he just sorta disappeared I guess. Now what was so weird about that night is that I thought I had dreamed it and so did my brother, when we started talking and comparing notes we realized that we were both awake that night and we had experienced the exact same thing that night. If I did not believe then I certainly did after my brother and I talked.

Guardian Angels
I have alot of stories, but more are " guardian angel " types, rather than ghosts.
When I was 3 months old exactly, I was rushed to the hospital. It was March 20. ( Which happens to be my current boyfriend's birthday .. weird ) lol.. Anyway. I was rushed to the hospital because I was having constant seizures. They kept me in the hospital over night, and monitored me very very closely. I was soon diagnosed with Spinal Meningitis. I ended up staying for a couple months. I spent my first Easter in there. Everyone prayed for me and my grandpa even took time out of his job, parked his street sweeper and sat there and looked over me. Horrible news came to the family. I had a 20% chance of living. Basically none, without side effects. Im 13 years old now, alive and well. I had no brain defects, nothing. In fact, I'm in gifted classes. lol. Anyway .. My great grandma.. I never got to meet her.. she died a year before I was born. My grandpa always tells me " Your granny would have loved you so much! " I think she was my guardian angel.
When I was about 5 I believe, My other great grandma died. We were very close. She had me reading stories by the time I was 3. I loved her so much. I remember strongly, where she was in the hospital.. ( I was like 4 ) .. and she was so pale, and she had a bag filled with oxygen next to her. That haunts me still. And I best remember her for her ruby red lipstick and matching ruby red nail polish. When she died, I received alot of books from her. She had ordered them for me, and they came after her death. I have them all.. There are like 20. All are in perfect condition. I miss her very much. Anyway.. one night, I went to sleep. I woke up..about 3 am. 3am. is the time in the night, when I wake up when something bad happens. ALWAYS. Its like a 6th sense. But I woke up, and I needed to use the bathroom. I woke up.. and on my dresser.. was my ruby red lipstick.. opened, with the lid off. No one uses that lipstick ever. Its kept in a little makeup box. I have no female siblings, and my brother was too young to be doing anything at the time. I looked in the mirror. I had a lip print on my forehead. Someone used the lipstick, and kissed my forehead. I went back to sleep.. after being very scared. When I woke up.. the lipstick print was gone.. It wasn't smeared onto my pillows or anything. The lipstick was still on my desk, with its cap off. I asked my mom if she had kissed me goodnight, and used my lipstick.. and she said I was silly for asking that. She only wears maroon, and can't get to me in my bed, from my pigsty of a room anyway. I think it was my Mamadorris ( my great grandma ) watching over me, letting me know everything was okay.
My close friend Jessica and I were at the House of 7 Gables on a field trip. Isaiah, my other best friend was in there as well. This house claims to be haunted. We were looking out side the window, when suddenly we saw a flash as if someone had took a picture of us. We all turned around at once, and no one was there. We ran out of the house and told our teacher. We all got in trouble for " scaring the kids " when we were the ones scared! On that same trip, we were all forced to use the bathroom... every student had a story when they came out.. The water faucet turned on, when you sat there. The door flew open ( luckily not on me ), the window was a'flappin' and the toilet with a flusher, was automatically flushing. It was very scary. If you went near the stairs, you could hear belts being snapped along it.. and a gruff voice. Me and my friend Jessica ( the same one ) .. were looking outside near the bathrooms.. beneath the house was a girl. A young girl. She was crying. No one else could see her except for me and Jessica. We described her the same.. blonde hair, white tights, pink dress, pale.. Later we learned their younger sister had died, when she was just a child. It was really freaky. :-(
My friend Jessica, ( the same one yet again ), was over my house. I own a stereo system that holds 60 c.d's. You have to turn a knob to make it spin, and slide the c.d. in on its side. We were sitting there talking about our ghost stories. Everytime I talk about a ghost, something ghostly happens. Its really freaky. Something will most likely happen tonight as well. Anyhow, we were sitting there listening to music.. dancing. The c.d's started spinning rapidly.. no one bumped the handle.. It wouldn't have gone that fast anyway. The door to open it to put the c.d's in, opened. The c.d's flew out of their space, and got stuck in corners inside the stereo, I didn't know was so roomy. I grabbed my Mr. Bear and jetted outta the room. Me and Jessica were in tears. My mom said " It's on Demo " Stop being silly. She went back there, and it happened again. She refuses to believe in ghosts, so she didn't believe our story. It was crazy.
My Mamaw ( Grandma ) was in the hospital one time. She was messed up on some drugs they had given her.. She was hallucinating. She described a man.. that came out of the wall paper gave her a rose, and told her everything was going to be okay. She described the man to us. It sounded exactly like my dad's friend Scott. He was the best friend of the family's. He had died in a drunk driving accident. While my grandma was still in hallucination.. my dad showed her a picture of Scott he carries in his wallet for remembrance. She said THAT'S HIM!!! THAT'S HIM!! The whole family found it odd. She had never seen Scott before in her life, only heard about him.
Note:> All these stories are true. I wouldn't lie about something so serious. I'm a firm believer in ghosts. These things really happen, and it's quite scary. God Bless you all. Love yaz ~ Ale'

Haunted Colorado
I lived and worked at skyline lodge in Platoro, Colorado the summers of
2000
and 2001. Platoro is an old mining town in southern Colorado. The lodge
itself
was built in the mid to late 1800's to accommodate local miners of the
gold
rush. One of the best known tales is of little Eva, a young prostitute who
was
shot while standing on the balcony of the saloon which she worked. She
was
shot by a jealous wife. Her gravestone still stands in a field about 200
yards from the main lodge. Another tale is of Henry, a man in his late
50's
who was hunting deep in the woods with a group of men when he had a
heart
attack. They got him back to the lodge by horse to get help. He died in
the
lodge while waiting on the doctor to arrive. Henry is supposedly the
mischievous one responsible for things such as utensils getting thrown
about the kitchen area, slamming doors, appliances being turned off and
on, water being turned off and on, and the occasional cold spot. The most
spooky of the true tales I personally heard was of a young man who
committed
suicide in what is now an employee bedroom in the main lodge. He shot
himself in the head with his hunting rifle. All that stayed in this
room, I
slept directly across the hallway, experienced things from
nightmares, cold
air, the bed shaking during the night, feelings of being watched and of
someone being in the room. The former owner was getting ready to leave
for
the season, the lodge receives up to 15 feet of snow during the winter so
everything is shutdown from November through May, he was doing a final
check
and realized he didn't have his rifle in his truck. He was 1 of only 4
people
around for a 40 mile radius, and they were all together. After an
extensive
search the rifle was found where no one had been for days, laying across
the
bed in the room of the suicide! The sound of furniture being dragged
across
the floor in the middle of the night when no one is around, numerous cold
spots, curtains blowing with no wind, these all happen often.

My Great Grandma
I found your sight and think it is great. I have always been a
believer. I was not sure where to post my story. I hope here
is ok.
I never really had any experiences until I was eight years old.
It was right before my Great Grandma died. I am not sure exactly
how many days but a few days before my grandmother died I had a
dream. They were just starting remodel Bayfair Mall at the time
so some of the parking lots were still under construction. My
G.Grandma and I were driving down the rode. My great Grandma
NEVER drove, but she was driving. I looked over and saw what I
can only think of was a body bag in a mound of dirt. I remember
in my dream I just looked over at my grandma and said, “look
Grandma a dead body.” I remember not being freaked out by seeing
the body. But after I looked at my Grandma I was very upset. A
lot of my dreams are more about the feeling I have then about
actual events. When I looked at my Grandma I had the
overwhelming feeling that she was dead. She was alive in my
dream, just like I see her everyday but to me she was suppose to
be dead. I even asked her in my dream what she was doing there
and told her that she was suppose to be dead. I woke up
hysterically crying and went downstairs and cried to my mom that
I had a dream that G. Grandma was dead. And a few days later she
did die.
I do not know if this is so much an “encounter” or just my
intuition. I had forgotten about the dream and was lying in bed
getting ready to fall asleep. We were living with my Aunt who
lived about 2 miles down road from my Grandma’s. It is a
neighborhood that hears sirens all the time. Cop cars or the
fire trucks because the fire station was very close and it was a
pretty busy street. Well that night I heard the fire truck pass
the apartments and all I could think of was that something was
wrong with my Great Grandma. I do not know why that time was so
different except I could not shake the feeling that something
was wrong with Grandma. A few minutes after the Fire truck
passed the house I heard the phone ring. My mom came in to tell
me that her and my Aunt were going to go over to my Grandma’s
real quick so if I got up in the night it was ok they would be
back soon. I was left in charge of my Baby brother, 6 months
old, and my cousin, 1-½ years old. After that I went to sleep
but my mom woken me up the next morning and told me that great
Grandma died during the night. Of course I was extremely upset.
We were always very, very close. This was the woman who would
get up every night and rock my stubborn ass back to sleep when I
was a baby.
I think my Grandma knew she was going to die that night. She had
offered to baby-sit me that day and we spent the day together.
When my mom came to pick me up my Grandma gave my mom ALL the
money she had kept in her savings, which was an address book in
the closet. She told my mom to have it so we could find a place
to live. After my Great Grandma died we moved in with my Grandma
and moved to a different apartment in the same apartment complex
to get an extra bedroom. But Great Grandma came with us.
Every night when my Grandma would go to bed she would shut off
all the lights. Every morning when my mom or Grandma would get
up all the downstairs lights would be on. No one thought much
about it. They both thought it was the other person coming down
to get a drink and leaving the lights on. Finally my mom asked
my Grandma why she left the lights on and my Grandma said she
thought it was my mom who would turn them back on. She said she
was going to ask her the same thing. Neither one of them were
freaked out over it. They both laughed and chalked it up to
Great Grandma letting everyone know that she has not totally
left us. Weird things like that happened all the time. We would
go to the park and come home and the TV would be on static and
all the kitchen cubbers would be open. And the one pet peeve my
Grandma has is the cubbered door being open. She hates it when
they are left wide open. I think my Great Grandma was teasing
her youngest daughter. My mom would be laying in bed at night
and hear my small TV turn on in my room. She would come in to
tell me to go to sleep but always find me sound asleep.
I never really thought about any of it. It was all just normal
to me. Then one day when my brother was first learning to crawl
I was on the floor with him next to the dinning room table. If
you know anything about my family it is that my both my
Grandma’s were always at the dinning room table no matter what
time of day it was. Dennis was starting his first little scoots
across the floor and I looked up at the chairs to tell someone
and saw my Great grandma. I was not surprised to see her there.
I said, “Look Grandma he is doing it.” She smiled and
said, “Yeah, I see.” When I looked back up after it registered
in my head she was gone. I did not tell my mom until I was an
adult and I don’t think I have ever told my Grandma.
That was the first and only “sighting” I have had. When I was in
high school years later I would still lie in bed at night and
think about how much I missed her. I would always start to cry
and talk to her. I felt bad for not going to her funeral but I
was only eight and my mom left the decision up to me. I did not
go because I did not want to remember her like that. I was
scared. I would tell her I was sorry for not going. And I felt
like she would reassure me that it was ok. She understood why I
did not want to go. It felt like I had a hand on my shoulder.
Every once in a while she would squeeze. And if I needed a hug,
it felt like she would give me a hug. Maybe some people who are
uncomfortable in believing in ghost can say that I had a muscle
twitch in my neck that just felt like a hug or a hand on my
shoulder. Buy it comforted me and made me feel better and to me
that is all that really matters.
Thank you for taking to time to read my experience.

Blood Cemetery
My name is Drew, and in late August in 1966, two friends of mine Dan and Tom asked me to go with them to a party on the beach at Lake Michigan. I was about 15 years old at that time. Ghost stories were being told around the campfire by almost everyone their, most of which I had already heard.
As the night went on a young girl about 17 years old started telling a story about a family of Doctor's with the last name of Blood. It was out on Round Lake Rd near Dewitt, MI, about 100 miles from the beach party, but only 20 miles from my home in Lansing. The Bloods had a lot of land where the whole family lived. The most interesting part was that they had a private graveyard on the property and that the whole area was haunted. She said that she saw gravestones that dated back to 1800.
On their prom night she and some of her friends decided to go out to the Cemetery. They looked around at the headstones for a while. As it started to get dark the fog hung thick, and a full moon was rising so they started trying to scare each other. Then the young girls' prom date decided to go into Dr. Blood's house because he thought no one lived there any longer. They waited about an hour or so, and when he didn't return they got scared and headed for the Dewitt police department. When they went in to tell the police, the officer on duty said "don't you kids know any better, old Dr. Blood lives out there and he doesn't like anyone trespassing on his property". He also went onto say that he thought "Dr. Blood was harmless and he's in his 80's" so, he didn't think there would be any problem. They all returned to the property, but to everyone's shock when they got back, the whole house were ablaze. The fire department was called, but in vane, because the house burnt to the ground. The next day there was a search party, but the only thing that was found in the rubble were the remains of the young man that had gone into the house the night before. The paper reported that his hands and feet had been bound. Dr. Blood's remains were never found.
One of the searchers that afternoon found a freshly dug grave, when they unearthed it, a pine coffin was found. Upon opening it, they found the body of Mrs. Blood. She was dressed in a red gown, with her arms; legs and head cut off. There had been no coroner's report of a body being buried there, or any police report of any murder.
The girl at the campfire that night said that the ghost of Dr Blood; to this day roams the cemetery at night, with a shotgun in one hand, and an ax in the other.
That night was the last time I ever heard or saw the young girl who first told me about Blood Cemetery, but it wouldn't be my last experience with the Blood family.
My Story
After I returned from Lake Michigan, I told some of my friends the story I had heard, some told me there own stories, about how they had been scared out at the cemetery. Mark said he had seen a ghost of an old man wandering the graveyard as if he was lost. Another friend said that he saw an apparition of an elderly man carrying a body and it appeared to be headless and armless.
Another 2 years would go by, before I got the nerve to visit this so-called haunted Cemetery. You see I never quite believed these "ghost stories", until I saw the most BLOOD CHILLING things myself.
The first time I went there was with Dan and JC. It was a steamy hot July night. The moon was big and full and it lit up the night sky as if it were daylight, the fog was drifting over the Cemetery as it rolled in from the lake. The feeling in the air was electrifying.
At the entrance to the Cemetery were two old rusted iron gates, and hanging above was a sign saying Blood Cemetery. By the light of the moon you could see the old grave stones. Some had been toppled over, and some were broken. The weeds were about knee high. There was a smell of jasmine in the air.
After looking around for a few minutes, I decided to scare the two of them. I had taken one of my mother's old white nightgowns and I hung it from a fence post when I was sure they weren't looking. There was a slight breeze in the air that night and I thought it would look like it was floating in the breeze. Just as I was about to put my plan into action, I heard JC scream. Dan and I went running over, he told us that he had seen a woman's figure in a long red gown. He said that she appeared to be headless and armless, and was coming right toward him, when she disappeared into thin air. I thought that he had seen the gown I had hung on the post. I took Dan and JC over to see where I had hung the old nightgown, and surely what JC had saw was my little joke, but when we got there the gown was gone.
Feeling a little spooked from what JC had thought he'd seen we started our way out of the Cemetery to leave. On our way out I said to Dan, who was quit a bit taller that me, pull the sign down, and we'll take it home with us.
Our night at Blood Cemetery was pretty uneventful, except for the woman in the red gown. We went back to Dan's farmhouse, where he lived with his Mom, Dad, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters. It was late when we got there, so the 3 of us went to bed, after putting the sign on top of Dan's dresser. The next morning when we got up we had breakfast and got cleaned up, Dan told his father about the sign we took the night before. With instant anger, his father demanded to see the sign. But this task proved not to be so easy, because when we went to the bedroom to get it, IT WAS GONE. Dan questioned his brothers and sisters, and they all swore they hadn't seen it, let alone take it.
After a couple of day's, of looking we were sure that Dan's brothers and sister's had nothing to do with the missing sign. We drove back out to Round Lake. When we got to the Cemetery, there it was hanging above the old rusty gates was the sign we had taken two nights before, looking like it had never been disturbed.
Several more years had gone by, when I ran into some friends at a restaurant, on Halloween night. They talked me into going out there again. (After all it was HALLOWEEN) When we got there the weeds were about chest high and the fences were falling down. One of the guys in the group called us over; he was shining his flashlight on a headstone. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. There lying over the grave was a large piece of glass about 6 feet long, and about 2 feet deep, incased in it were a dozen long stem roses imbedded in the center.
Just about that time we heard a shotgun blast. We ran back to our vehicles, and the right side of Dan's car had been shot, and the windows had been shattered. Needless to say we got the hell out of there. With people seeing ghosts, hearing things, and the car being shot up. I swore I would NEVER go back out there again. But I've learned you should (NEVER SAY, NEVER.)
When I was about 26 or 27 years old, I was riding with some motorcycle enthusiasts. It was a beautiful June day; the skies were blue and clear. It was hot, but who cares when you're on your bike. My girl friend Chris rode with me on the back of my bike. She had heard so many stories about the Blood family, she decided to bring a camera with her. We looked around at the rundown graveyard, and Chris was taking pictures, after a few hours we decided to leave, and all of us started down Round Lake Rd. We were about 150 yards from the Cemetery and Chris and I hit a snapping turtle. The bike went out of control and we crashed into a tree. I suffered only minor injuries, but Chris had broken her back, and was paralyzed from the waist down. She was able to walk again after a couple of years, with the aid of crutches. (The curse of Blood Cemetery had struck again)
I've since heard lots of stories since our terrible accident.
In 1989, 2 high school girls were out to have some fun on Halloween night. The news reported that their car went out of control about a 1/4 of a mile from the Cemetery. Their car plunged into Round Lake and they (both drowned.)
The County has now put up hurricane fence around the Cemetery, with razor wire strung along the top.
And I've learned that at least 4 or 5 Blood son's from each generation have become Doctor's for the last 150 years.
And a couple of years ago, Lansing named one of their Halloween haunted house's after Blood Cemetery.
If you're ever out on Round Lake Rd, and you see a full moon rising, DON'T visit Blood Cemetery.

Casper Hates Dial
About 4 years ago my husband, 2 children, and I moved into our older home. All of us felt at home right away. And to this day we all call this place home. From the beginning "things" started happening. We kept the bread on top of the fridge. Whenever anyone would leave the room and come back we would find the bread on the floor. In the middle of the room, not next to the fridge. The most activity would happen in our daughter's room. We would put something down and go to pick it back up and it would not be there. After searching the room, and or leaving the room it would end up being right where we left it. My daughter has told me that from time to time she would wake up in the middle of the night and she would see someone in her room. Sometimes a woman and sometimes a man. One time she thought it was my son and hollered for him to get out. She said upon speaking the person turned to her and then vanished. Someone spoke my name one night right after my husband and I laid down to sleep. We've had soap containers (the Dial liquid soap containers) burst open and leak soap into our sink. Upon inspection there was a perfect round hole on the side about the size of a small fist. After some time it was really bothering my daughter, I had a talk with this ghost and explained that it was scaring the kids, would it please stop. And for the most part it has. Every once in awhile we will catch someone out of the corner of our eye. Or maybe go around a corner and have the feeling of being startled by someone who isn't there.

Haunted New York
My dad's in the army, so we move around alot, and I've lived in haunted houses almost all my life. And my sister and I seem to be the most sensitive ones to ghosts. Our mom is a little, but not as much as us. Anyway, there's one house that we lived in, that I think was definitely haunted. It was in New York state, in a little town called Watervliet, which is very close to Albany. And this house is the ideal haunted house, a big victorian house, over a hundred years old, complete with a basement, first floor, second floor, and attic. The first thing that happened to me in this house was, one night, not long after we moved in, I was in bed trying to go to sleep, and I had my head under my covers, and I felt some one either sit on the corner of my bed or pull them a little, and I felt 2 presences, and I heard two male voices whispering, and I had some feeling that one was the "master" of the house, and the one pulling my covers, the servant. I was so scared, I was afraid to do anything, but I finally got my courage, and screamed for my mom, and the pulling and whispering stopped. But that wasn't the scariest event, that was still to come. I was alone at home, my parents and older sister went out to a barbecue, and I stayed behind, while my brother was at a friend's house. I was sitting in a chair, reading, and I heard someone, walking around, heavily like my brother, upstairs, and I thought it was my brother, but then, I realized, that I would have heard him come in and go upstairs, even if he came in the back way, and up the back stairs. And the walking continued, and we had little lights on the walls that clicked when you turned them on, and I heard some one playing around with them. They stopped just before my brother came home, and I asked if he'd just been there, or if he'd been back since he left for his friend's house, and of course he said no. So I thought the noises were finished after he left, and of course, they continued, and finally ended just before my parents and sister came home. I told them the story, and no one believed me. And when we were moving, my mom said that even she thought the house was haunted, cause she always felt a presence, and she believed that it was the "lady" of the house, and she said that she always heard children call "mommy" there, and I remember that she would always walk around and ask if we called for her, and we usually said no, and she never did that in any other houses. I have had many experiences in other houses I've lived in, and if you would like to know more about them, email me back. Sarah

Short, But Creepy
Hello All
Well, this is rather simple but yet scared us pretty well. One night, this was back in the 80s, I was at my girlfriends house. My girlfriend, her brother, the family dog, and I, were downstairs watching TV. We heard someone walking above the basement in the kitchen. I asked my girlfriend when the heck her parents were going to go ahead and go out for the evening, as they did every Friday night. She looked at me kind of sickly and pale like and said that they had been gone for over an hour. What's more is she had just told me about a week earlier that she had seen her grandmother in her room with her one night around 2:00 am. Of course the grandmother had been dead for 5 years. So anyway we finally got the courage to go see if maybe her parents had returned earlier than they said. We searched the house. All doors were still locked and in place, windows too. We were the only ones home.

Sixth Sense
I will start by saying that I believe that my mother passed some of her "sixth sense" to me and I have yet to decide if this is a blessing or a curse. The way I feel my sixth sense is a very uneasy feeling, almost like nausea, before something happens. These have always been minor events and I have been able to deal with them. For instance, I was taking Kung Fu in a friend's house, but could never relax enough. I later found out that his grandmother had died there and people had seen her. Needless to say I never went back. The story I am going to share involves a very strange incident about 14 years ago in my parents old house way out on the east side of Tucson, AZ.
My mother and I had never really been comfortable in the house, but we both chalked it up to nerves about moving and trying to get settled. The only thing that would make our nerves theory disintegrate was the fact that no matter what we did, we could not get the drafts to stop. They came in from the windows and doors, even after we put weather stripping up...twice.
The night of the incident, my mother and I had been up watching T.V. and wrapped in blankets because it was Fall and the drafts were bringing a chill into the air inside. There was nothing good on, so we decided to call it a night. She went to bed and I cleaned up.
After everything was put away, I headed to my room to watch a movie. I fell asleep with the movie on and woke up to the sound of static because the movie was over and the tape didn't rewind itself. I got up, turned it off, and headed to the kitchen to get some juice. I didn't turn on any lights because I knew my way around and there was a nightlight in the hallway.
I got to the kitchen, grabbed my juice and drank it while standing in the middle of the kitchen. After a few seconds, I realized that the floor was freezing and my feet were like ice. I put the juice back and headed back thru the dining room. Here is the layout of the house: opposite the dining room, on the other side of the two-way fireplace, is a sunken den with stairs leading to the dining room and the living room on the other side. As I walked thru the dining room, another draft came thru. And I thought to myself, "God, I hate this house. Winter is going to be a pain." As soon as that thought left my mind, I passed the stairs and as soon as I did, I felt a single footstep fall right behind my left foot. Well, in the split second afterward, I knew for a fact that both of my parents were asleep and I was the only other living being in that house that was up. In the next split second, I started to run around the corner to the hall and continued full bore until I got to my room. Once thru the door, I slammed it, jumped in bed, yanked the covers up, and stayed that way until my mother came in the next morning to ask why I wasn't up.
I didn't tell her what had happened because she would be even more uncomfortable then she already was. Not to mention, I never walked thru the house without turning on every light I passed. To this day she doesn't know, and that is mostly because she would start in about how she knew there was something wrong with that house.
On a side note, at age 24, I have yet to step foot in a graveyard, but I am going to get over that next month when I go to New Orleans and visit St. Louis #1 and 2. I have to admit that these graveyards might be a little intense, but why not start with the best and then see the rest, right? Just say yes.

Ghost In The Orchards
My step father owns orchards and years ago we lived a few miles out of town, next to our land. This wasn't old farm land by a lot of standards. It had been settled only about a hundred years before I lived there, but I don't know who owned this land before my step dad. During the summer months I would take my gun out to do a little shooting, nothing much but rabbits and birds. On one particular day I had wandered quite a ways into the orchards without realizing it and it was beginning to get dark so I decided to head home via the "old Vantage highway" an overgrown and unused highway built in the late 1920's. It was a little under a mile walk home and the orchards aren't the funnest places to be walking during the night hours. I was about 3/4 of the way home, it was dark and the moon was just a tiny sliver in the sky, when I realized that there seemed to be footsteps behind me. Was someone following me? No, not this far out of town, I told myself. But I didn't have the courage to look. So I kept walking, a little faster this time. But the footsteps soon sped up and were louder, and louder. They were right behind me now. I was so scared that I ran all the way home without looking behind me. A few weeks later me and my dog were rabbit hunting in the mid afternoon, again in and around the orchards. My dog took off after a rabbit and I followed, toting my gun. We chased that rabbit for probably a hundred, hundred and fifty yards when suddenly my dog stopped dead in his tracks. His back raised up and he bared his teeth, staring off into the distance. I had no idea what was wrong with him, I didn't see anything that would frighten him. The footstep incident was still fresh in my mind so I called to the dog to come and was damn ready to head home. But he stood his ground. I had no choice, I walked over to the dog slowly and took him by the collar. "Champ, COME." I turned around and started pulling. Suddenly the dog jumped back and let out a howl. I turned and when I did I let out a howl also. About 15 feet in front of us stood an old man wearing dirty overalls, his hand raised and pointing at me, and two dogs. But they didn't stand, they seemed to be kind of floating there, just above the ground. The dogs were standing on either side of the man and both looked ready to attack. But that wasn't what made me scream and lose sleep for weeks after this happened. The old man's eyes were nothing but huge gaping black holes, and his mouth seemed to be open in a silent, agonizing scream. But I didn't stick around to find out. I turned on my heals and ran home as fast as my feet would carry me. Truth is, I don't even remember running home I was so scared. After that neither my dog nor I ventured far from the house, and my step dad had a hell of a time getting me to work in the orchards. But the next year we relocated and that was the end of that. Thankfully!

Ya Keep 'A Knockin'
Hello, a friend of mine sent me the link to your page and I think its one of the better ones out there especially with the ghost cams, too cool. Well Ill give ya another story for your page here.
Back last year at the end of July I moved into a house with my then girlfriend. The place was a wreck and needed a lot of work done to it. So we more or less just lived out of one of the bedrooms. It started right off the bat, I would hear footsteps in the hallway and not wanting to scare my girlfriend I never said anything to her about it. I would just get up and go look around the house to see who was there, and never did I find anyone. So this went on for about 3 weeks. I work third shift and was coming in about 3 or 4 in the morning at that time and she was here by herself. Well just about every night I'd get in, she'd get up and we'd sit there and talk for a bit and I kept hearing these footsteps going up the hallway, every time I went to check I got the same thing, nothing. Ok, so one night I come in and my girlfriend is asleep so I decide to take a shower before I wake her up. As I'm coming out of the shower I hear someone step away from the bathroom door. So I yank the door open and of course there's no one there. I walk across the hall to the bedroom and as I start to open the door I catch what looks like someone standing in the doorway to the spare bedroom, real enough I turned to swing thinking someone was in the house. Well there was no one there so I go on into the bedroom. My girlfriend gets up and we're sitting there talking and I hear a door open and footsteps in the hall again, but this time my girlfriend says, "There goes that door and the footsteps again." I'm still playing stupid at this point still not wanting to scare her seeing how she stayed at the house by herself through out the night, I say, "What are you talking about?" and she goes on to tell me that almost every night the door across the hall opens and she hears footsteps going from one bedroom to the other and then up the hall. I start asking her if anything else happens and she then informed me that just that day her an neighbor saw a mist IN FRONT OF THE BATHROOM DOOR. So then I tell her about my little experience just a few minutes before and start asking her more and she tells me that its funny that the door across the hall opens because the door is never shut. Well I go on to tell her that the reason it's never shut is because there is no door there, I took it off the hinges when we moved in because the door was busted and I was going to replace it. OK now we get to the good stuff. I ask her if she has noticed any type of pattern and she said all she noticed was that it never messed with our room. It went from one bedroom to the other and then up the hall, never seeming to mess with our room. And me and my big mouth says, "That's because it knows better than to mess with my stuff!" big mistake, VERY BIG MISTAKE! We laughed about it for a minute and then decided to go to bed, not 5 minutes after turning out the lights the bedroom door was rattled, actually it seemed like the WHOLE bedroom rattled. It was so bad it was hard to tell what was rattling and what wasn't. Well my girlfriend says she saw the doorknob turning back and forth and I have a habit of locking the door so she says, "Well, are you gonna go look?" I said "Hell No! It didn't get in the first time, it won't get in the second time around, besides you know what that was and it isn't someone in the house, that's for sure. Besides you're a cop, you're better trained at situations like this if it is someone in the house!" Well she went to look and of course there was no one in the house. After that the house had an even funnier feel about it. She asked it to leave and things quieted down for awhile until she left, then things slowly started picking back up again, but it seemed to move from the back of the house to the front of the house. I'm still here though, no ghost is gonna run me out of my home and I've had some really weird things happen since then but nothing as extreme as the door rattling incident. I've got pics of orbs around the house and not too long ago I'm sure whatever it is here touched me. Very strange. Things have seemed to have quieted down again but my current girlfriend who was staying here while I was at work said it stopped in to say Hello to her last week, started the banging noises late at night. She just told it that she heard it and to please be quiet and the noise stopped.
Well that's my story, not all of it but the most freakiest part of it anyway.
Hope you enjoy

Miss Kate
Hi;
I do not know if this is the kind of story you are interested in but this
is what happened to me.
In 1990, I was living in one of those cute but older apartment buildings
in a town near St. Louis, MO. This was a nice place with a 1920s kind of
flavor to it. The other tenants had been living in the building for years and
years. I had not met all of my new neighbors cause I worked in a restaurant
from 4pm till 1am, and would sleep late into the mornings.
Getting to the main part of the story... It was raining when I went to bed at
about 3am. The next day promised to be a gray overcast day. I normally sleep
like the dead, excuse the pun, but that morning something woke me. I was in
that foggy state of more asleep than awake when I felt a presence in the
room. It was like when my mother use to come in to my room at home when I was
a child to see if I was still sleeping. Nothing wild or threatening just a
figure of a woman walking by the bed silent and just checking things out. But
I lived alone at the time! Ok no big deal I said to myself. Too much pizza
and junk food before bedtime and too many scary movies about things that go
bump in the night. But this was morning-gray and rainy but still morning. To
say it nice I was waking up and had "to go" so still 95%in a state of sleep I
got up to go to the bathroom located across the hall from my bedroom.
Ok I am in the hall and to my right is the kitchen, out of the corner of my
eye there is this lady in one of those housecoats with the fuzzy slippers
standing just inside of the kitchen. "Can I help you?" I asked. I know of all
the things to say I had to use a line from work like this woman was going to
ask for a table for one or something. ...I was looking to see who was living
here now. This was my home for 40 years you know. She replied.
"I'm here to go home with Molly today. I'll go now." And with that she was
gone.
I went back to bed and fell fast asleep again.
When I woke about 90 minutes later red lights were flashing and I could hear
voices from a radio. Good the cops caught this loony lady who was walking into
peoples homes.
NO THEY DID NOT BUST THE OLD GAL WHO WAS IN MY APARTMENT!
Molly the older lady who baked cookies and was always nice to every one in
the building had passed away about 7:30 that morning. And yes I asked around
and old lady Miss Kate who had lived in my place and died there in my
apartment was her best friend.
I have not told too many folks this story. Some may say I was dreaming,
I do read Ghost stories and visit spookie web sites. Please tell me what you
think.
thanks

Indianapolis Ghost
This is a true story. In 1985 my mom got married to my stepfather, I was 12 years old. Right after the marriage we moved into a fixer upper house in Indianapolis, Indiana. The house was one of the first houses ever built in the area. Anyway my parents wanted to go to the paint store and the mall to find stuff for the house they asked if I wanted to come with them but at this time I was talking on the phone with a girlfriend about the up coming cheerleading tryouts. So both of them left and I stayed on the phone about another hour. Right after I hung up I was startled by the sounds of a loud argument coming from up stairs. The way the lots are set up on this street I knew it was coming from my house because the other houses were too far away to hear this clearly. So I went up stairs to see what was going on, when I got to the bathroom by my parents room right from behind me I hear the argument again. Needless to say I jump in the tub to hide. I was soooo scared. After about 5 mins. the sounds stopped. I ran down the stairs and out the door all the way down the driveway which is about 100 feet long and stayed next to the mail box till my parents came home. When they got home they didn't believe me. But as time went on odd things started to happen to my mother. About one month later I was in my room, in my closet was the entry to the attic. We never used it. I heard a baby crying so I called my mother in the room she also heard it. Off and on for the next 4 years I would hear the cries of a baby so would my mother. At the top of the stairs was a door that lead out to a balcony on two separate occasions I sensed someone watching me through the glass. As my parents slowly remodeled the whole house and made the place a work of art the strange sounds completely stopped. The best part about the remodeling was that that door at the top of the stairs was removed and replaced with a picture window and seat and I have no problem with looking out that window now. Weird! All True

The House On Harvey St.
I have just discovered your sight and wanted to wish you well and also to encourage you to keep up the good work. Enough said though, its time to tell my experiences.
My family and I moved into a one-floor home in the older part of Chatham and were quite happy there for almost a year. We even considered buying the house but upon deeper speculation my husband and I decided that it just wasn't big enough for us and our three children so we started looking for a larger home to buy.
This is when things started to happen. One morning after having sent the children off to school and hubby off to work I went back to bed to get some more sleep before having to go to work. I hadn't been in bed five minutes when I felt someone lie beside me. I was angry and rolled over to berate my husband for not going in to work but of course he was not there. I was stunned to say the least but chalked it up to imagination.
A few days later, same scenario everyone in the house gone, me back in bed when I heard loud (and I mean loud) banging and scratching coming from the living room which was directly off of our bedroom. Oh great I thought to myself an animal had somehow gotten into the house and was freaking out because it had no way out and judging from the intensity of the noise I automatically thought of a large dog and let me tell you I am terrified of dogs.
I pulled myself up out of bed and stared into the livingroom from my bedroom doorway. Nothing there, nothing knocked over. I then entered the livingroom no longer scared but curious. I checked the whole house even outside on the porch. Still nothing. It was eerie but again I dismissed it; trying to tell myself that it was squirrels or mice in the walls, yeah right they would have had to be the size of german shepherds to make all that noise. After that it was a regular morning thing. Banging, scratching etc. I became accustomed to it and was more annoyed than scared. One morning I got so angry that I yelled for it too stop all that ***** noise right now. Needless to say it worked the noise stopped right away.
I knew then that we had a ghost.
Approximately one week before we moved out something did happen that scared the daylights out of me. It was late at night and I was laying in bed doing a crossword puzzle. My husband was taking a shower. All of a sudden I heard someone call my name but directly in my ear. I said what; figuring maybe my husband was calling me. Of course he didn't know what I was talking about
and looked at me as if I was insane. This really scared me. I can honestly say that I have seen a few ghosts in my life, a young boy, a man and a dog but never ever have I heard someone say my name.
A week later we moved out. The strange thing was that no one else had any problems or reported any problems to me. Also I found it weird that nothing happened until we decided we were moving.

Just Saying Goodbye
Hey, my name is Terrie. This really did happen to me and of course I really do believe in ghosts and things like that. Well I help my mom at work and her office is downstairs where all of these cars park. My cousins were down there with us and we just left the door open to the office and we started talking and drinking pop like we always do then all of a sudden the lights start going off and on. It really did scare me at first but then I went and closed the door as fast as I could cuz I really didn't know what to do and then it stopped. It was really weird but I thought that it was a ghost and then the next day my mom's best friend died and we believe he was there with us and he really didn't want to scare us but he wanted to say goodbye. I just wanted to tell you that story but I do have lots of other stories that are true and if you want to hear them I would be glad to tell them to you, but I just had to tell you that one first.

I have always seen ghosts. But mostly when I moved to Napa. I remember when I was about to go into the sixth grade my dog King died. This dog was a beautiful huge collie. We had him for so long, he used to work with the police I forget what he was. My family loved him, and we had him for the longest time, but he died of a heart attack at age 13, when we were playing ball.
The day after he died I was asleep and I remember waking up, as if I hadn't been asleep at all. I looked at my door for some reason and there was my dog. Not aggressive, not old and bad looking, but he was perfect, looked like he did when he was young and healthy. He looked freshly groomed and everything, but I couldn't look directly at him. I had to look beside him, like how you sometimes have to look next to a star to see it, because there isn't enough light to look at it directly. But my dog just stood there looking at me, and panting, like he'd just run here to see me. I had another dog, Sadie. She raised her head, looked at him, whined once, looked at me, and then put her head back down and went to sleep. But I kept on looking at him, I called him but he didn't come. He just stood there looking at me. He didn't have any color to him he was just a fuzzy ball of white and gray in the shape of my dog. I called him again and he turned around and walked away. Quietly.
I remember him as the best dog I ever had, and I always will. And him coming back from the dead only for a short while to see me only makes him a better dog than the one I knew. This is my most emotional ghost story and every word in it was true. I think that ghosts think just like us. And I think my dog really lived up to his name, King. This is my best story, but also my saddest. Thanks for reading it.

Rearranging Furniture
One night, as my mother was sleeping, she was suddenly awakened by strange noises. Downstairs she could here loud sounds as if someone were moving heavy furniture around. And this was REALLY loud. Then she noticed that the speaker phone next to her bed was on but there was no signal. All she could here were strange sounds kind of like the ones a modem makes. She turned off the phone and went to see what was going on downstairs. She thought it might be a robber so she didn't go down all the way. The noise was still just as loud but when she looked, everything went silent and everything looked normal. No real sightings here but it is still pretty creepy.

Maybe He's Following Me
I have had many experiences with the spiritual world. I never knew I had a gift (or is it?) but I remember going into a New Hope Restaurant in Pa. when I was about 7 yrs old. Even then I knew there was something in this place that gave me the creeps, but I never mentioned it because I figured somebody would think I was a weird kid. Later, but not to my surprise, I found out this restaurant had several spirits haunting the place for over 100 yrs.!
In 1986, I moved in with my then husband, Andy. He lived over a store in New Jersey that was once a boarding house in the 1800,s. We always knew something was strange about the place and I never liked to stay in there alone. He felt the presence of an old man standing by our bedroom door. Later on I had covers pulled off of me, jewelry hidden and a white mist appeared across my bedroom mirror. Also, I had the sensation that someone was sitting on my bed.
Well, 6 yrs. later my husband and I separated, only to find out that my current boyfriends great-grandfather owned the house that I lived in with Andy!! I was pretty shocked, thinking maybe he was the spirit that would not leave us alone.
In 1992, I rented an apartment with my son. It was the third story of a large historic house. We adopted a little kitten for him to play with and everything was going fine. Until December of that same year. My kitten didn't look right. His eyes appeared to be sunken in and glazed over. It lasted about a day or two, then he was fine.
Not for long though. By February he appeared to be sick again and lost weight rapidly. Not only was he getting sicker by the day, but a presence in my apartment seemed to be getting stronger. We had furniture moved around, water turned on, mirrors broken, everything was thrown off my shelves in my linen closet and had things thrown at me. Eventually my kitten was so sick, I had to put him to sleep. I strongly believed that the presence drained my kitten of his life in order to become stronger.
That was enough for me!! Or was it?? I joined a Ghost Hunters Club because when I tell people about these situations they look at me like I am nuts!!
And the saga continues.... Now I have been in my house for almost 4 years, and I have several invisible visitors here. One is a cat. A tiger cat who is welcome to stay because I don't have to clean his litter box or take him to the vet. Having a "ghost" cat is the best kind to have..and no shedding. Then there's Mrs. W., the owner of the house. My fiancé and I bought this house from her three grown children.
Mrs. W is not a problem really. It's Benjamin!! He's the prankster. I am not sure if he is a child or a grown man, because people have felt the presence and reacted differently. Some guests say that he stands in my hallway or follows them upstairs. My dog loves to look at our staircase for long periods of time and he is often scared out of the kitchen.
Well, my fiancé found a picture shoved in an outside compartment of our house and it's a large photograph of a baby. I can't help but wonder who would put a baby's picture outside in a compartment with a dirt floor. Well, this picture is believed to be Benjamin. When I went to a séance, I was told by the psychic that Benjamin was ticked because we covered up his hole!! The compartment was covered by our newly re-paved driveway!! He is not a happy camper!! He left a blue streak of paint on the white moldings in our spare room.
I am on the move again and Benny has been busy. He hit me with a cabinet door, thrown an empty paper cup at me, and I spotted a large black shadow walking out of my garage a couple weeks ago. Over the years he has knocked over a couple pictures, turned on my porch lights, scared our dog and hides my things.
Ghosts don't like change. They don't like new residents coming in and out of their house, re-decorating, painting and all those things that we do when moving into a new place and making it our home. I was also told I have had one spirit with me for a long time--that would most likely be Benjamin, but I am not really sure.
The one thing that freaked me out was two similar incidents. One happened in my old apartment I had with my cat, the other one was here. Both times I was pinned to my bed, unable to speak. But the first time I thought I was dreaming, the second time confirmed that I wasn't!!
I worked a split shift at the time, a couple hours in the morning a few more in the afternoon. I remember getting ready to go in my afternoon hours, standing by my dresser. I had a fan on. Then I was pinned face down on the bed. Unable to speak or move, I was thinking, "Get off of me". Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a woman walking back and forth at the foot of my bed. My fan got louder and faster, I could hear it, the speed was changing and I thought it would break because it was going so fast!!
Suddenly, I was standing up again. This time on the other side of the room. Then suddenly back to where I originally started out. I don't remember getting on the bed or being in different parts of the room. But the one thing I did notice was that the spirit was behind me and as she faded away, the fan returned to its normal speed.
This scared the s**t out of me. I hope I never have something that scary happen to me again. Once was enough. Twice, in 2 different places, is way too coincidental. Oddly enough, I have dealt with it and realize that part of the spirit world has been with me for most of my life, probably all of it.
Now, I could go almost anyplace and feel spirits. I felt them when I walked through Central Park on a beautiful spring day. I get nervous at friends houses when I visit because I don't want to tell them what I feel.
And I feel them right now, as I am typing this letter!!!

Lady Ellenor
This story was left in my chatroom LadyEllenor: No one is here right now, but I would like to leave a story for who ever gets here next.
I was all alone walking in the woods by my house. I love going there it's so peaceful and quiet but today it was different. You see I always go to this certain spot where
there are old ruins from previous houses (and I'm the only one to know where they are and how to get there, but these houses are old, I mean they're from like the early 1900's)
anyway today things were different you see the house was actually there. It was standing between 2 trees and looked like it had just been painted. I mean it looked
new and that's impossible because it had been gone for decades.
As I walked closer I realized there was a girl sitting in a chair on the porch so I walked over and as I got closer I let out a gasp because the girl sitting there looked exactly
like me. She called out and said don't come any closer when I asked why she said Richard would be coming home soon and if he saw me he would kill me. I laughed nervously and asked what her name was when a man came crashing through the woods. He came closer and closer to me and I thought he was going to walk right over me when he passed right through me. I was so surprised I heard myself scream but it wasn't me who had screamed it was the girl on the porch. She got up and tried to run. When the man stabbed her she fell to her knees saying no Richard no. When he turned towards me I ran for dear life! I ran all the way home and when I discovered he hadn't followed me I went to the library to find out what I could about the girl it turns out Richard had been her father and that they had lived after the death of his wife for years until his daughter mysteriously disappeared. The strange thing was that I couldn't find her name so I went back to the house and standing behind one of those trees I saw a small gravestone and on it said the name LadyEllenor.

Trail Of Dirt
We were moving out of our house and my mom and I were staying after everything was gone to clean it. We had lived in the house for about 3 years. The house was built in 1921. Anyway, many things had happened to me in the three years that I lived there but this was the very last thing. I was upstairs finishing my room and I walked downstairs and then my mom came down and asked me what I was just doing in the basement? I told her that I hadn't even been in the basement. She said she heard me down there moving stuff around. We had already finished the basement so there was nothing down there to move around. So together we went down the narrow flight of steps and at the bottom of them was a trail of dirt that went from the steps over to the cellar doors. We both freaked out, grabbed our stuff and left. Thank goodness that the rest of the house was already cleaned cause we didn't want to go back and my mom wont move out of a house and leave it dirty.

Little Creepy Things
Ok, I wasn't so sure about this but I'm doing it anyway. I have lived in this house for about 10 years and nothing that strange had ever happened until about a year ago. My friend and I were listening to music and I was just sitting there so I don't get how it happened. I had my hands kind of folded in my lap and when I got up I reached across my bed and noticed there were some scratches on my arm that were NOT there when we started listening to music. They looked like cat scratches. The next day they were gone, though. They just disappeared all of a sudden. But about a week later there were some more scratches in around the same place and I still don't know where the scratches came from, because I don't even have any pets. My friends and I were joking around and said it was the ghost of my cat that had died a few months ago and he was letting me know he was there. Another strange thing that a friend has noticed too is a smoky white thing that floats around in my room every once in a while, but not all the time. When it's there I get the feeling that I'm being watched and I get kind of paranoid and I don't understand why, really. Also, the other night there was whispering in my room, and nobody was home except me. I kind of just tried to ignore it, but it was there all night long, and I had to turn on the t.v. so I couldn't here it anymore because it was starting to bother me. That night was also one of those chosen nights where the smoky ghost was in my room. Also, sometimes I listen to music in the dark cuz it's easier to daydream with the lights off. (at first I thought this was strange but then I found out other people like the lights off more too) anyway, if I leave the door open it creates a shadow outside of my room and if I look closely I can see a dark black figure that won't come out of the shadow. It watches me and looks like it wants to come into my room but can't for some reason, and it creeps me out. It seems like different strange things happen every once in awhile and I'll email some more if anything else happens that's unusual.

Little Creepy Things II
Ok, some more little creepy things have happened since I last sent in some of my encounters. At first I just thought it was weird things happening only in my house, but now I think spirits follow me, or just come out when I'm around. I found this out a few months ago when I was spending the weekend at some friends of the family's house. I had been napping in the master bedroom and I suddenly woke up. For some reason I didn't feel like getting up so I just lay there and stared around the room. Then I thought that I had seen something move in the walk-in closet out of the corner of my eye. At first I didn't think anything of it because they have a dog, and some cats, so I just figured it was a pet. But then I felt like I was being watched, so I looked back again and saw a mist-like-thing standing right in front of me, but I wasn't scared or anything. Then suddenly I thought 'stop it, Chester'. Then I was a bit scared because those words just kind of jumped into my mind. Then the spirit was gone. I just decided to ignore it, but then I felt like I was being surrounded by spirits, then they were touching me. I could actually feel them. I just stayed there for a minute, then I got sick of it and left the room. Since then I haven't come into contact with any other spirits... in that house, anyway.
Over the summer I decided to put my mom's hearn in my room. (my mom died about 5 years ago, when I was 8) The next night there was another white mist standing in front of my door and I got the feeling it was a girl and that it was watching me. At first I didn't think much of it, but then I thought that maybe it was my mom, which then made me feel a little safer. Then, one night I was in bed, trying to go to sleep, (facing the wall) when I felt something standing over me and it was freaking me out. Then when I tried to turn around to look I felt hands grab my ankles, which kept me from turning around. At this point I was really freaked because I had something watching me (and I can normally tell when it's a bad thing or a good thing and it felt bad because I had a real uneasy feeling about it) and something else keeping me from seeing what it was. After about 5 minutes, the thing let go and I whirled around to see nothing. I guess I kind of think there was something bad in my room, but my mom was keeping me from seeing it by holding my ankles so I couldn't turn around and look. Well... that's all I have for now, but I'll keep you updated. By the way, really KooL site!

Haunted House
About 22 years ago, my husband and I and our little girl moved into an older home that we had just bought. It seemed like a great place, but very early on I started getting the feeling that something wasn't right. We first noticed this when our dog would just start growling at thin air. And getting him upstairs was impossible, as soon as you got him up there he would whine and run back down the stairs. There was one bedroom upstairs that really had a feel to it, it was my husband's office and I hated going in there. Sometimes we'd hear things in the house, like there was someone in the next room, but you'd go in there and there's no one there. I can't tell you how many times I answered the front door, thinking someone had just knocked, but would find nobody there. The scariest thing to happen in the house was when I was fixing supper one evening. I was expecting my husband home at any minute when I thought I heard him come in the front door. I distinctly heard the screen door creak, which it did every time you opened it. Then I heard movement in the living room and a loud thump, like he had dropped something heavy on the carpeted floor. My daughter was next door with the neighbor kid and I could see her out the kitchen window as I was listening to the "person" in the front room. I called out to my husband and told him I was in the kitchen and thought I heard him step into the kitchen. I turned from what I was doing and was about to say something when I realized there was no one there. I was about to call his name again when I felt this strange cold come over me. It was a hot Tennessee afternoon so I didn't understand where it was coming from. I had never felt anything like it. There was no one in the room, but I could feel a presence. It scared the heck out of me. I went into the front room to see if I could find my husband and it immediately felt 20 degrees warmer. I was about to yell for my husband again, when I seen his car pull up out front. He was just getting home. I felt a chill go up and down my spine when I realized this. I ran out there to tell him about it and he helped me search the place but we found nothing out of the ordinary. Although he had heard many of the same noises I had, he said I had probably just imagined it. Ha! We moved out after only living there about a year. I haven't had any more things like that happen to me, thank goodness!

Haunted
Hi my name's Inez, I'm 18 years old. I have had many experiences that lead me to believe that I have ghost in my home. In one situation I was laying in bed it was pretty late. Everyone in my house was asleep. I heard my Chihuahua outside my door she was making a bunch of noise and I can hear her running around, then I heard a familiar noise from her a noise she made when she got her tail stepped on kind of a yiiiiiaaap and she came running into my room and jumped on my bed I then heard something, to me it sounded like a man and what I can make out of it, it sounded as if he said "ooooh nooo" I laid in my bed and I held my dog as she shivered. I was too scared to go out so I tried very hard to fall asleep. The next morning I told everyone about it nobody had gotten up in the middle of the night. Then a couple weeks later I was on my computer it was pretty late again nobody was awake. For some strange reason I looked over to my right and I saw a figure walk through my dining room right into the wall. I ran to my parent's room and they said I was dreaming, they didn't believe me. One time I was walking through my dining room and we have these huge windows that look out to the backyard, we have a patio table right outside and when I walked by a figure sat there in the chair. I looked and I ran I was screaming because I knew what I had seen. My parents were beginning to get worried about me, my dad went outside and the chair was pushed all the way in as if nobody had been there and when we went inside my Mom noticed that it was too dark to notice if any one had been there because not even the chair was visible in the dark. The other day in daylight it was in the afternoon I had just gotten out of school. I got on the computer to check my mail when I can feel someone next to me, then I felt as if they had softly brushed my hair behind my ear. I heard a giggle but I didn't think anything of it at that moment, I just turned around and said, "Stop it Mom" to realize that there was nobody there. I called for my Mom and she said that it wasn't her; she then said, "Maybe it was your special friend." But she believed me after one day she finally saw something. It was again outside at the patio table. Now she believes me but we still cannot convince my dad.

Man In The Closet
One of my friends use to live in a haunted house and unfortunately his closet is the one the guy was killed in. A while ago his wife got mad and killed him in the closet. Any way that isn’t the story. One night when I was spending the night at his house I fell asleep while he played video games. I dreamt that I was in his room with some kind of weird guy. He was: short, partly bald, and all tied up. I didn’t even think of it as a ghost or any thing like that because it didn’t cross my mind. For some reason I was pulled to it. He started making funny noises with his mouth so I started laughing. He got mad at me and ran at me from the closet and passed right through me like he wanted to kill me. Then I woke up and fell into some mushy stuff. My friend explained to me that I got up (I was sitting down) and started walking to the closet, then I got onto my knees and threw up. I didn’t believe him till the next day, when I went to his house and started playing video games and I looked into the closet and saw the same man in my dreams sitting on the floor shaking his fist at me, then he disappeared. I freaked out and ran out of the house. After that I barely went into his room.

My Grandad
My Grandad. On the 11th of January in the early hours of the morning I could not sleep because I was so cold. I got up to get a spear quilt out. I got back into bed and was still awake and had a strange feeling someone was in my room. I looked around but I couldn’t see much because it was pitch black. I saw what I thought was my Grandad in the corner (I was very puzzled because I did not hear anyone enter and my Grandad lives in the north of England and I live in the middle and he does not visit us much, we visit him, he can't drive). The figure soon disappeared and in a bit of a state I ran to my mums room and told her to ring my Grandad’s house quick, she told me to go back to sleep and that I was seeing things (she was very mad because she had work in few hours). The next day my mum got a phone call from my Grandad’s sister saying that my Grandad passed away that night in bed. I was very shocked as was my mum when she realized what happened that night. -Anonymous

The Ship
Hi. I am new to this kind of stuff and have not shared this with anyone except my brother. This is a true story. However, I am not closed off to the fact that I could very well have been dreaming. Here goes... I fell asleep, I remember that much. And I thought I was dreaming. I was in this hotel place and my fiancé (now ex) was with me along with my special kitty, Sugar. My then-fiancé said he was going into the other room. I said ok to him and went to look out our window. I saw a normal outside setting. Then this ship (I don't know what else to call it) noiselessly floated by. I mean...it made noise, but it wasn't noise like in the ears...it was a noise in my mind. My instinct told me not to look at it...but I did. And when I looked I know "they" were there and knew I was there. And suddenly I was completely blasted and overcome by this vice grip on my brain. It was the MOST TERRIFYING feeling I have ever felt. It was as if someone had netted me and my thoughts. I knew I had to get somewhere safe before I was too disabled to defend myself. I crawled into the bathroom...and my legs and arms felt dead and somehow I managed to get in the bathroom, and I remember feeling the hard tiles that were chilly and scratchy soft. It felt weird on me because usually you don't feel tiles on your legs and stuff. SO...I get in there...and I call Sugar kitty to get in there with me before they came up there. I closed the door, and just as I was about to lock it (it had a push-snap lock) they were there. I couldn't move. I couldn't do anything. I could hear their mind talking to each other, but I couldn't understand the words, the dialect or anything. It was maddening. Inside I could feel everything and terror, sheer raw terror was all that was inside. I started to thrash about, because I felt enclosed. But, when I thrashed more, they "tightened" more. It was like a reticulated python...the more the prey struggles the tighter the snake gets. I could tell they were disagreeing about something. I was screaming, but not with my mouth, with my mind I was screaming and saying over and over to them that I will not be had. I they just tightened me up...and left really fast. I didn't know what to do, but I was worried about my cat. I kept my thoughts on her...and slowly, very slowly...the "net" was loosening and losing power. I was still on the tile. Sugar was ok. And then it turned black. everything was black. I had my eyes tightly closed...and after what seemed like about 10 minutes...maybe I don't know....I opened my eyes...and I looked around my dark room. But I couldn't look in the window. They were there and I knew it, but I couldn't look, because to look would be introducing something so maddening into reality. They left finally. And I lay there in bed unable to move...I was panicking again because I couldn't move a muscle. Slowly like a drug was wearing off, I moved. My cat was in the window seat. And I stayed up the rest of the night totally freaking out and trying to make sense of it all. That is it. I know that all of that is crazy, it still is to me too. I'm only hoping that by sharing what I have experienced (whether it was a dream or some presently unexplainable encounter) that I and others can gain more knowledge of life and death. Thanks for reading and for your consideration. Yours Truly...Melanie

Grandparent's House
I'm about to tell you a story of what my friend encountered at her grandparents house. One day she was visiting her grandparents. Then they went out for an errand. So she was left all alone in the house. She went to the guest room, and turned on the television. All of a sudden the television was switching channels by it's self. Then when it stopped it was on the Sifi channel, and then when she switched to another channel, it went back to the Sifi channel. She got scared and jumped into the bed. She got up and went to the kitchen to get a get drink of water. She heard foot steps in the hallway! She went to the den to watch something. Then she wrote questions to the ghost on a piece of paper. She went somewhere else for 3 min. The creepy thing is that it wrote back! That's everything that happened to my friend!

Holly
This really did happen to me but I don't know if it's a ghost story or not. I'm 19 now so the incident happened when I was 12 years old. My little sister Jenny, my cousin Heather and I were all at my house and we were all in the living room because that was where we were sleeping. My little cousin Holly had also wanted to come and stay the night but her mom wouldn't let her. Anyways it was about 3 o'clock in the morning and I was lying on the floor and my sister and my cousin were on the couch. I don't know why but for some reason I woke up and my little cousin Holly was lying beside me flat on her back and her eyes were closed like she was sleeping. Well at first I was half asleep so I was just like Holly get away from me and then I looked closer and I could see through her and I tried to push her away from me and my hand went straight through her body. I totally freaked out and jumped on the couch were my sister and cousin were and when I turned on the lamp she disappeared. She wasn't dead but my Grandmother said that at night while you sleep your soul leaves your body and that Holly wanted to be with me.

The Lipstick On The Mirror
There was something all over my mirror in my bathroom when I got home one night. It was red lipstick and I don't wear lipstick nor any other type of makeup. I live by myself so no one else could have done it. Still a little curious I went to bed and thought nothing of it. The next morning I woke up and went in to the bathroom to take a shower and written on the mirror was "GET OUT NOW" in the same red lipstick...so I got out! I ran out of the house screaming at the top of my lungs. I ran to my neighbors house and told her about the red lipstick on my mirror and she said she would send for my things and I could stay with her.

Guardian Angel?
Hello, I'm Joe from Illinois…Here's my story…on Abe Lincoln's birthday my dad's best friend Tom died, he was buried on Valentines day…I think…anyway…I was torn up over him dying…so about 2 years later…1 year ago…my and my friend went out messing around, I had my scooter, my friend had my bike. He went down this BIG steep hill on his bike and my scooter with no brakes….so after he did this with no trouble he asked me to try it….I said sure, my first try was on his bike with no brakes…I made it, luckily. But on my scooter going down with no brakes I was not as lucky…I fell off…I hit a rock and hit jagged concrete. My left knee had the skin ripped off and nerves popped and my knee-cap was sifted, both my arms were scabs, and so was my right side. I'm fully healed now…all I have left from this accident is a nasty scar on my knee. The miraculous part of it all was…I wasn't wearing my knee or elbow pads, OR helmet. I noticed after I got cleaned up and bandaged, that NOTHING happened to my head, not a scratch, NOTHING. I also remember that when I fell that I felt something on my head, I don’t know WHAT it was…it was just a feeling, my guess is that Tom…my dad's best friend saved my life that day…because I am lucky to be alive right now. So now I am afraid of hills and scooters. Always wear pads when going outside.

Weird Stuff
OK…it's Joe again, WEIRD stuff has been happening since my last posting…and it's happening as I type this…we bought this house from 2 old people…the house was built in 1964, and was the first one built in the neighborhood. Anyway one day I was watching TV my dogs were playing around, my parents were gone. All of the doors were locked, I went into the kitchen to get a drink and when I came back…the front door was open, it was opened a little itty bitty bit…but I noticed it. I don’t know how or why it happened. Later on that day, my parents were home, me and my mom were watching TV…we were laughing because we were watching the 3 Stooges…the TV turned off and back on ALL BY ITS SELF. After that happened I ran to my room and so did my mom to hers. I don’t know what happened?

Violent Unseen Forces
Since I was about seven or eight years old, I have been having a lot of minor experiences. You know, hearing footsteps on my stairs after everyone is alseep, hearing my name being whispered by some unseen force. But this thing is so weird that even I have trouble believing it. One night, about a year ago, I was in my room getting ready for bed. Out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw something walk past my mirror. I ignored it, figuring it was just my imagination. Well I got into bed and as I was saying my prayers, I started to feel as if I was being choked. I couldn't breathe or move. It was as if something were on top of me. I opened my mouth to scream but no sound came out. I started to cry. I started praying. All of a sudden I felt as if I were falling through the air and just as suddenly as it had started, it stopped. I was so freaked out. I told my mom and she just said I had had a nightmare.
After it hadn't happened again for a while I did start to believe it was just a nightmare. Then it happened again. A couple of nights agao actually. I was lying in bed. I couldn't breathe or move and I stated to pray and it stopped. Then I sat up in my bed and looked around my room. I told the thing that it sucked and that I wasn't afraid of it. Big mistake. All of a sudden I felt this huge shove and I fell back onto my bed and it happened all over again. I started crying and I apologized. I asked God to help me and it stopped. I hope you believe me but if you dont then I don't really blame you. But I swear this story is true.

you . Im a Fireman and have been for the past 6yrs. The first Station
that I
was assigned to is a very busy one with my crew members being of the
life's
too serious crowd. That is why it struck me so heavily when I brought
up the
subject that one of the guys likes to eat in the middle of the night
when we
were around the dinner table.
I brought the subject up in hopes that whoever it was would take the
hint
and keep the noise down during his latenight binging. Everyone around
the
table looked at each other and the sharing began. My Captain who is as
no
nonsense as they come opened up in such a way that shocked me. He
asked me
if I knew the story of "Dave"( there is a flagpole out front of the
living
quarters with a head stone memorial for this past fallen brother) I
said yes
that "Dave died in the line of duty" however I didnt know the details
only
that his name is on the national fallen firefighters memorial "The Wall
of
Flame". Dave died in a way that isnt easily comprehendable. One night
two
teenagers fell off a waterfall that is closeby here in Arizona. twenty
feet
down the fall the teenagers landed on a rock outcrop, very lucky kids,
23
people have fallen to their deaths since the '70s with the last one
just
being 6mos ago even though there is a fence around the area that was
put up
in the late '80s. Back to Dave , Dave was one of the guys on duty that
day
and responded with rescue guys to assist. The two teenagers were
dropped a
"line" down to them to secure to until rappellers could reach them.
Dave was
yelling at them words of encouragement when he tripped over the
securing rope
that the kids were tied to. Dave was not teathered and went over the
side.
Dave fell 600 some feet to his death landing on what is called in the
service
as splatter rock. Dave's last words were of total shock. the words he
said as
he went over are not suitible for this site nor do I think that you
really
want to read them. After his fall another Station was assigned with his
body
recovery. They hiked in to the location (1 1/2 hr heavy hike from the
nearest
camp ground) with the time being what it was the crew had to camp out
with
Dave's body for the remainder of the night until sunrise when
visibility
would assist with the hike back with Dave.
After the kids were rescued and Dave was recovered did the extent
of the
situation sink in. A couple of the guys from Dave's crew found other
jobs
shortly after , one had a "break down" when they arrived back to
quarters and
saw Dave's truck parked in the lot behind the station and when they had
to
put Dave's stuff away that Dave left out during his 24hr shift. Now I
know
that this is getting rather long and I'll try to keep short. Anyways
shortly
after his death the station started to have strange happennings that
would
occure at any time of day but more noticable at night when most of the
guys
are asleep. One is the "banging" of pots and cupboards in the kitchen.
This
occures around 0200-0400 in the morning. the others include a phantom
phone
ringing(an old bell ringer type) that we dont have. All our phones are
digital and have that annoying bleep bleep sound. A shadow of a person
by
the door leading to the firetruck bays. This shadow is more apparent at
night
when all the lights are out and the glow of the stations main radio is
the
only light source. I got tired of seeing this so decided to see what
was
making the shadow one night. As I stood in different locations around
the
living room I finally stood right in front of the shadow figure and you
could
still see it even though it was in my own shadow and I was blocking the
only
possible source of light!! The lights go on once or twice a night
however if
Dave is talked about during the day or the night you can bet that
you'll be
up 5-7 times in the night turning the lights out. Every now and then
the TV
in the day room turns on always between 0300-0500 in the morning with
the
volume getting louder and louder till you think that it will blow the
speakers. This occures only once during the early hours when it does
happen.
Some of the guys have been gotten up during the night only to see Dave
sitting on the bed next to them staring at them as they slept. Dave
soon
disappears. Even my stern Captain with no sense of humor has seen Dave
walk
through the bunkroom between the beds in the night. Although he doesnt
like
talking about it. There is more to add to the story but like I said
I'll try
to keep it short. After talking with other crews and shifts that work
at that
station it became known that Dave is active with everyone. And when a
new
fireman is assigned to that station they are told of the activities
that
happen and not be scared because Dave is like a guardian making sure
that
everyone is safe and seems to be waiting for a call to go down (shadow
in the
corner) so he can go back to duty. But when the newby speaks Dave's
name and
says that we are just jerking his chain with our personal stories and
that he
doesnt believe in Dave the newby is assigned to light duty because you
can
count on them going on through the night. I have much more to add to
this
station and my current station that I'm assigned to. If interested just
let
me know.

Have You Checked the Children?
This is an actual strange event that happened to my mom when I was about four years old, I'm 23 now. For anyone who knows that old scary movie where the babysitter keeps getting calls saying "Have you checked the Children" you'll understand just why my mom freaked out.
My parents use to own some land and a small camper Up North, in Wisconsin. We lived about two hours away from it in Milwaukee. My dad and older brother used to go camping up there while my mom and I stayed home. My mom watched the movie I was talking about the day before my dad and brother left. Well the night that they left my mom got this call, and the person asked "Have You Checked the Children?" A little scared my mom hung up the phone. Then the phone rang again, she answered and the person on the line said "Have you Checked the Children" My mom getting even more scared started yelling at the person and hung up again. The phone rang againg and she answered it saying "If you call back again I'm giong to call the police", the person on the line asked "Can I talk to Bruce (my father)?" Thinking that someone else called she told them he wasn't there. Then he asked to talk to Steve (my brother), a little confused now my mom said "He's not here either" the person asked to speak with Jason, the only name Jason we had was my cabbage patch doll so my mom was really confused now. So the person asked to Speak with Elbert ? (I should let you know now that Elbert is my brother that died as a baby before I was even born). My mother shocked and quite shaken up said "Who the f*** is this?" And the person asked "Did you check on Kimberly? (Me) My mom slammed the phone down and ran into my room. I was asleep so she woke me up and we slept in the front room together on the same couch with all the apartment lights on. The next day she was thinking if it could have been one of her sisters playing a prank on her and she decided it couldn't have been because none of her sisters would have been so cruel as to ask for Elbert, besides nobody knew she watched that movie, not even my dad because he was at work when she watched it. And we lived in an upstairs apartment so nobody could have seen her watch it through the window. I know this is real because I remember her waking me up and being so scared and I remember her telling my dad about it when he got back two days later. Every time I am alone at night with children I constantly check on them, whether they are mine or anyone elses.
I hope you found this interesting, because I still think about it every now and then.

Scary Holidays
I am a nurse working in London, and so are two of my sisters. One of my sisters is a strong Christian as she found Christ a few years ago, when she was facing some personal crisis and been fine since then. We are from Malaysia, so each year we go home for holidays and to spend some time with our family. My family believe in Buddism especially my sister and mother, so we have altars display in some corners of our house, about 5 of them. Well, my Christian sister decided to chant and said her prayer to 'chase away those evil spirits' as she told me later on.....after I had the most scary night... She told me that at times during the night, while everyone is asleep, she felt there is a presence in the bedroom as she normally sleep very late, as she took her shower well in the midnight and then read her bible and said her prayers.I just ignored her and never pay attention to her talk. One night, I was asleep, suddenly in the middle of the night, I felt such heavy shaking of our bed, which I shared with my Christian sister, a double bed, it was coming from her side of the bed, thinking that my sister is having a bad dream or having 'fit' so I just shook her and at the same time I was scared to open my eyes as I wasn't sure, it might be something else!!! She was aroused and begin to say Lord's prayer and cast the 'presence' away, immediately the bed stop shaking. She told me that she didn't moved and the bed was shaking by itself. She told me to say a loud prayer and how to cast it away. So, I was petrified and tried to get back to sleep, while my other sister, from London too, she is a midwife, was sleeping on a mattress on the wooden floor below our bed, she was in her deep sleep, didn't know the event. About to doze off, I suddenly heard my other sister who was sleeping on the floor was making whimpering noises and more louder as though she was scared, so I quickly said, ' In the name of Jesus, I demand you to flee.....' as it was taught by my Christian sister, although both of us are Christians we are not strong and non-practising.. My sister stopped and told us that she felt someone was on top of her, she couldn't breathe, so she was so scared, as soon as I said my chant, it left her body,so she asked us to lean forward so she can see our faces and she said she was very scared, so she was relief to see our faces, and quickly climbed up to our bed and we were so 'squashed' in our limited bedspace and I sure didn't get much sleep afterwards, so when morning came, our mother found us so closed together. We related what happened during the night, we were so scared but not my Christian sister, later she told us what she has done and she tried to cast away the gods of all the altars in our family home. That night, we all went next door bedroom to sleep, it was so crowded but I will not sleep in that bed!!! A few days later, a telephone call from my brother-in-law told us our father and elder sister had a road traffic incident, my father was riding his motorbike and a car knocked his bike down, my sister was abit shocked and suffered some grazes and bruises, but my father broke his leg, so the following event, my father was taken to a clinic and confirmed suffered a few fractures and he was admitted to a private hospital as our NHS hospital provide poor service. Thus, my father has plate fitted in and stayed in hospital for a few days, so we take turns to be with him, day and night, it was quite challenging to look after him, as he was demanding. I rather nursed 10 babies than him!!! I am a neonatal senior staff nurse by the way. When he was discharged from hospital, we took turns to sleep near him as he woke up very frequent to pass urine, so he may need help to stand up as he was using a urinal bottle. Needless to say, we were deprived of our sleep and our holidays turned up to be scary and stressful. Up till today, we never experience that event anymore, as my Christian sister after spoken to a Pastor believes she has offended the spirits and she said she may caused the incident of our father too. I told her we may never know as it could be an accident but I truly believe our night was not an accident at all. While I am relating this event, I have some goose pimples in my body and I do have other ghost encounters but will send you maybe more in future. Mei Loh.

Grey Lady
In 1997 me and my wife and our trusty dog Bob moved into an old villiage house in Northen England. We had heard rumours that the house was being sold off cheaply because no one else would buy it but no one ever said why. For two years everything was normal until one morning when i was getting into my car to drive to work the neighbour said 'so is everything alright with the house, nothing strange happening?' so i said 'nope its fine thanks' and never thought anything of it.
After that things started getting a little more strange around the house, tv's would switch on and off by themselves and things would be moved and hidden. Until one night the me and my wife had gone to bed and all of a sudden we both woke up because of an extremely loud bang, we both immediatley looked into the corner of the room to what appeared to be a women dressed in grey facing the wall, obviously we were in total shock and then the women's head just span round really quickly and said 'GET OUT' and then disappeared.
This was unbelievably scary and me and my wife left the house that night and never went back, and our trusty dog Bob was also never seen again.

Haunted Dream
This is not a ghost story, but it's weird nontheless. I was hoping
someone had heard of something similar.
------------
Over a year ago, I had a strange dream. I walked up to an old
Victorian style house that was rather dilapidated. There was a confused man
outside, who followed me in. I walked in the house. To the right was a
parlor full of ghosts, walking around. They looked just like normal
people. But no-one spoke to me or acknowledged me. I walked up the
stairs, man in tow. When I got to the top, I had to walk down a hallway
with many windows covered with ragged curtains. They were made out of
the same material as a woman's sheer neck scarf. They were a color I
can't describe, red, pink, and blue all at the same time, but solid. I
walked a little further and came into another room with some ghosts, the
man curled up on a bed, and went to sleep. As I turned, a small woman
no taller than 5 feet, walked up to me. She was in Victorian dress,
and very beautiful. I started telling her how I had done everything she
wanted me to, and I rattled off a list of all the charity work, etc.
that I've done. She smiled, cut me off, said "I'm very proud of you" put
her hand on the back of my neck, made me bend at the waist, and kissed
my forehead. Then I woke up.
A friend and I had been talking earlier about why he left the church
and he told me about a dream he'd had years ago. But he didn't tell me
all of it, some parts of my dream paralleled the parts he hadn't told
me. When I woke, I thought of him immediately, and sure enough he had
rejoined the church. A good story. Lately I've been looking for work,
and houses. I have been searching some websites and found a picture in
the house in Indianapolis, I've never been out of Canada.

Voices From the Dead
Hi my name is Ryan and I am 11 years old and I love the paranormal. One thing that happened to my mum was scary.
She was in her bed and she heard someone shouting her name. She got up, but to her surprise there was nobody there. Another incident was my mum was cooking dinner in the kitchen and the pencil holder came flying off the TV.
Knowing me, my Mum shouted for me quickly and right enough the pencil holder was off the shelf and on the floor.
I hope this is the stories you want!

The Wailing of the Banshee
Yeah, I got a good one for you. Other than the dilapidated place on my Grandma's street that my brother and our friends and I used to sneak into and try to scare the pants off of each other in, I never really thought much of ghosts. A couple of years ago though, something happened that made me wonder. I'd gone fishing with a buddy of mine at our usual spot on the river. We'd caught a few and were packing up when I stepped into the bushes down near the river to do my business before heading home (it's a 45 minute drive, can't hold it that long). Now this particular spot happens to look onto a different area of the river and so all day I hadn't noticed the shack across the river until moved to the right spot. We'd been fishing here plenty of times over the years and new of the shack that's probably 50 yards off of the river up on a little bit of a hill. I'm not sure if it's somebody's hunting cabin or what but it looks as if it has been there for 100 years or better. I seen the shack and really didn't pay much attention to it, I was just doing my business when I seen something out of the corner of my eye. At first it didn't dawn on me what I was seeing, since we're almost in the middle of nowhere, but I realized that it looked like a dog hiding in some tall grass. But not the kind of dog you see out in the bushes. This was somebody's pet. It looked like a golden retriever. Now this wasn't too hard to believe, but for some reason I got such a strange feeling when I seen this dog. I zipped up and stood there watching for a minute and this dog just stood there and stared right back, very calmly. He was right in front of the shack. I decided to go tell my buddy to go look and turned getting ready to leave when my buddy appeared out of nowhere, without a sound right in front of me and nearly gave me a heart attack. He grabbed my arm and told me to "sshhh!" real serious like. You could see that he was listening to something, or for something. I tried to listen and at first I didn't hear anything, but then we both heard a sound that made my blood run cold. It was the most horrible wailing sound. It sounded like a woman, like she was in such mental anguish. It was so damn creepy sounding though. I realized it seemed to be coming from the shack across the river. I couldn't see the dog anymore though. The sound only lasted a few seconds and then it was just deathly quiet, like the whole woods were waiting for something. My buddy and I looked at each other and both agreed we needed to go see what was wrong, if there was somebody in trouble in that shack. I was still horrified at the memory of the sound of it and how creepy it was, but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't go look. So we went upstream a ways where it got shallow enough to cross without getting too wet. We made it almost all the way to the shack when we heard a dog growl from behind us. I remembered the dog and whipped around, but couldn't find it. But damn it sounded like it was right there. The closer we got to the shack the louder and more vicious it sounded and it sounded like it was coming from all over. Finally we stopped and I said hello, towards the shack, you know, trying to find out if there was somebody in there and I felt this rush of cold hit me like a ton of bricks. That was it, I took off and my buddy, he said, after he seen the look on my face he decided we needed to get the hell out of there. We don't fish there anymore.
