Texas Southern Baseball Takes Three from Pine-Bluff

Houston, Texas –Texas Southern (21-2, 19-9) overpowered Pine-Bluff for three victories 7-6, 16-20, 18-6 and 10-9, this past weekend at McGregor Park-Neagle Field.

Jeff Chavis scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to seal a 7-6 victory. David Bell went 3-3 for three runs scored and two RBI’s. Hunt Harris pitched two innings for the victory, striking out four batters. Pine-Bluff scored 20 runs on 21 hits to win game two, 21-20. John Moore was the top Tiger hitter with a 3-3 performance, one home run and five RBI’s.

Texas Southern Baseball Travels to Grambling

Houston, TX. — The Texas Southern baseball team travels to Grambling, Louisiana to play a four game series against SWAC rival Grambling. The teams will play a double-header noon, Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28. Jason Roy has been on an offensive tear for the Tigers with three home runs, 12 RBI’s and 19 total bases over the last week.

Texas Southern to host Student-Athlete Banquet

Houston, TX-Texas Southern Athletics will host its annual student-athlete banquet, 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, in the Sterling Student Life Center Cafeteria. Tickets are $15 per person.
