Houston, Texas-Rakim Hollis tied a career high with 33 points as Texas Southern defeated Prairie View in overtime, 93-90, Tuesday, February 5, in the H&PE Arena.
Hollis shot 22-29 from the free throw line for TSU (5-13, 5-5 SWAC).
Stephen Hoyer scored 17 points and seven rebounds. Marquel Timmons added 14 points, five assists and three rebounds.
Gregory Burks scored 26 points and added five rebounds for Prairie View (6-15, 4-6 SWAC). Kevin Jones posted a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Prairie View outshot TSU 47% to 39% and outrebounded the Tigers 47 to 45.
The Tigers return to action, 7:30 p.m., Saturday, February 9 against Jackson State in the H&PE Arena.
