battered and broken i lay, my lifes blood ebbing away into the cold night...

i watch in a paralized silence...

there is nothing to ease the pain...

inside i am screaming, "you foolish, foolish child!!

to put your faith in something as fickle as love" if you could only see how grand it was...

i put on my sunday best...

we danced by the light of the moon...

content to swim in the depths of eachothers eyes....

what did you see in mine???

must have been revolting for you to cut me so deeply...

you slammed the door in my face after i held it open for you...

rejection after admittance is far worse than never having known the joy of belonging...

empty of life and all desire to live, i vow never to bleed again, for no one...

never believe in love where ther is no love to be found...

alone and battered, i slip into the shadows, forgotton....
