"...We can make a difference by helping those whose needs are most urgent."

Excerpt from letter to Congressional Committee on Runaways
Over the years I've contributed my time and resources in charitable works.

Runaway & Displaced Girls

When abuse, neglect or intolerance occurs at home, why do we allow teenaged girls to turn to the streets? On any given day, over 70% of all runaways are little girls* - Someone's daughter or sister or niece. It seems that each year their numbers are increasing, while at the same time there is a reported increase in violent crimes. Now is not the time to allow our most precious asset to tackle the world by herself. It may be impossible to help every displaced girl on the street, but by actively supporting those existing agencies (through funding and volunteerism) we can provide a warm, safe bed, a nourishing meal and possibly intervention thus reuniting families. Together let's do our part. Give of your time and service in assisting California recognized charitable organizations in their efforts.

Muscular Dystrophy

Each year, like many of you, I contribute to national Muscular Dystrophy and Spina Bifida organizations.** I now have the means of reaching thousands of caring, good-hearted people from all facets of life over the Internet. Continue to give of your dollars and/or service to those California recognized charitable organizations which provide an invaluable service for us all.

** Such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Disabled & Aging
American Veterans

They served their countries by placing their lives in harms way. For this we owe the Veterans of the World Wars, Korea and Vietnam not only our support, but our continued promise to help them as they age for preserving our states. What can we do to help? The US Congress is considering whether or not to cut the Veterans Administration budget. First, you can help by clicking here and sending the US Congress an automated letter supporting the increase of funding to Veterans Administration Hospitals and Veterans receiving disability stipends. The letter is written by The Disabled American Veterans as part of their effort to maintain medical facilities for our aging and disabled Vets. Second, continue making annual contributions to recognized charitable organizations of your choice which support:
  • Living expense offset programs for World War, Korean War and Vietnam War Veterans on fixed incomes;
  • Lobbying federal governments for cost of living increases in VA benefits;and
  • Lobby district and local governments for tax breaks for our aging Veterans.
Together, we can make a difference.
