Financial Management - February 2001

"Money Matters"

Where’s the money? What money you ask? The money to run this chapter and finance projects.

We will run some new projects and some old projects this coming year. Christine Hopkins is chairing a new project – "Million Penny Drive". At each chapter meeting, Christine will be collecting pennies, nickels, dimes… - any loose change. The money collected will help offset chapter expenses. Thank you Christine for developing and chairing this new project.

The chapter will again be running the Nascar beer concessions in May and September @ RIR. Also new this year, we will work the IRL race in June. These 3 events should net the chapter approximately $ 7,500. We are looking into running a Regional Haunted House in October and possibly Christmas tree sales in December.

Beginning in February, we will have a 50/50 raffle at the first chapter meeting each month. Tickets will be $1.00 or 6/$5.00. At the end of the meeting, we will draw 1 ticket. The winner will receive 50% of the proceeds and the chapter will receive the other 50%.

I am still looking for a treasurer and a chairperson or chairpersons to help run Nascar. If you have any suggestions or concerns for financial management, please get in touch with me.

Until next time,

Shari Himelbloom
