Presidents Corner - September 2000

Theodore Roosevelt said, "In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing." Deciding not to take action is like deciding to keep the door locked to your self- induced prison. If your heart is racing, if you feel restless, if the depth of feeling startles you deep in your belly reading these words, the message to you is make powerful choices. Take action. Live your life as you were meant to live."

Are you living your life like you were meant to live it?

Are you living out the words of the Jaycee creed?

If you aren’t, you may be missing something.

Tuckahoe it’s September. This Jaycee year is coming to an end. Have we fulfilled all we have wanted to this past year? Have you been to the  project you said you were going to go to? Have you chaired that project you wanted to? Have you started a new project that you wanted to? If not, what are you waiting for?

July Heart Award – Thanks for coming out and participating – we can’t wait till you reprise your role as "DEATH" at the Haunted House.

Soul Award – Jim Watkins – for his undying love and participation at Project Warm. All you need to do to see Jim out is call and ask him. It’s that simple.

Thank you both for giving your Heart and Soul in July.

Second Quarter Chapter Awards:

Project of the Quarter – NASCAR – thanks to Kim Mullooly for making this day as successful as it was New Project of the Quarter – Meals on Wheels – thanks to Philip Perschetz for writing the CPG, presenting it to the Board and ensuring that this project happens – what a warm fuzzie good feeling project to continue for years to come

Member of the Quarter – Holly Kerr – for always making that special cake for the birthday bashes and stepping up to the plate to help the ID team

New Member of the Quarter – Connie Allen – for coming out and becoming a part of our family

Board Member of the Quarter – Trish Tyler – for her undying and selfless acts to make the Independence Day Celebration happen.

These 7 individuals have lived and worked hard in the second quarter. I know you can all do it. Fifty people one hour a week is better than 1 individual giving 50 hours a week.

Let’s make a pact to refocus and work hard at creating the best Haunted House that anyone has ever seen. Thank you Sandy for stepping up and help get this project off the ground.

Let me know how I can help you do the right thing. Remember the year is almost over and new leadership will evolve. Start now preparing for next year and to ensure the future of our wonderful chapter.

"The opportunities for enjoyment in our life are limitless. If you feel you are not experiencing enough joy, you only have yourself to blame."
