It is through the use of technology that we are able to reach a far greater audience and having the ability to web publish has truly taught me how I can reach that audience. Activating and Engaging Habits of Mind Paragraph Explanation (comp 12) This books was an eye opening view of metacognition and the steps to put it into practice in every facet of learning. Having the knowledge of how to walk students through the steps so that they can monitor their own learning is invaluable information for the classroom teacher to possess. Keeping abreast of all of the latest information is integral to being an educator at any level. Things are not static in education, the professional educator can never rest for there is always something new to learn on the horizon. The teacher as facilitator in the classroom is also the learner. Competency 013 The teacher understands and adheres to legal and ethical requirements for educators and is knowledgeable of the structure of education in Texas. Although there was not an activity that demonstrated this competency it is by far one of the most important. If we are not ethical educators, serving only the greater good of our students then consideration for the conferring of any higher degree is out of the question. By reaching this level of performance along with that goes the responsibility to not only adhere to but also uphold all legal and ethical standards set before us.
