Katharine Parr

Already twice widowed, Katharine Parr was married to King Henry in 1543. She managed to bring some stability to the King's declining years, and was a kind stepmother to his 3 children.

Interested in religious reform, Katharine was almost committed to the Tower of London for disagreeing once too often with her husband on theology. Luckily, she managed to outlive him, and subsequently married Queen Jane's brother, Thomas Seymour. Katharine Parr died in childbed in 1548.
