Australian Sport Page
Hello and welcome to this new web page dedicated to Australian Sport.  I'm your host Simon Seabrook and I will endevour to update this page with new articles on a regular basis and to add pictures.

Anyway enough of that lets get down to business.
Obviously cricket is the major sport going on at the moment in oz and as a huge cricket fan I am going to start off on the subject of Test match cricket.

The fourth test is over and it was another white wash in fovour of Australia. But as the winning streak continues to grow there are a few worrying things to consider. On the surface all looks rosy at the moment for the Australian side, and don't get my wrong I think they are doing an excellent job. However we are currently playing a substandard opposistion that has barely won a test outside thier own country(s) in recent memory. I do respect that old saying you can only beat the oposistion you are confronted with and at the moment the boys are doing so with ease. But there may lie the problem. Australian cricketers have a reputation of becoming cocky. Now under the leadership of Steve Waugh we have not seen this yet and I hope he can continue to drive his players to be the undefeated, undisputed heavyweight champions of the world. With a 3 test series in India approching there will be no room for complacency. We all remember the 3-0 thrashing of an enept Indian team last summer but I will remind you something that all the players should be aware of, India at home is a lot different than India away.
Now apart from the brothers Waugh the other batsmen have only shown the occasinal flashes of brilliance this summer and on the turning tracks in India Australian batsmen have a history of struggling. As for the bowlers, well nobody can fault any of them this summer. 5 wicket hauls have been going around like a record baby making us dizzy. Speaking of dizzy how good is it to see Jason Gillespie back and firing. But with so many quicks on fire, McGrath, Dizzy, the injured lethal Lee and even Bichel I hope the selectors don't forget their horses for courses policy. I'm sure the want seeing as our spinners aren't exactly struggling either. With Miller, the desperatly unlucky MacGill and a fit Shane Warne our attack should be potent.

With this West Indies series dead and Buried and the streak set to extend to 15 in Sydney, now who's cocky?, and the one day series against the poer houses W.I and Zimbabwe holding all the attraction of a fat chick in a bikini we look ahead to the battle ahead in India. Just don't expect the Aussies to go to England with a winning streak of 18. But if they go there with a winning streak of 5 series then applaud Steve Waugh's team as truly one of the greatest sporting teams ever.
