Fresh Fruit & Berry Crisp

- 2 to 3 cups fresh or frozen (thawed & drained) Blueberries
- 2 cups sliced Strawberries
- 3 to 4 Pippin Apples, peeled, corded & sliced thinly§
- ¾ cup Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
- Pinch of Nutmeg
- The zest & juice of 1 Lemon
-  About 2 cups Streusel Topping Mixture

Preheat oven to 350-375°

Veggie spray a casserole dish, set aside

In a bowl mix together the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon. Salt, nutmeg & the zest, mix to combine

In a bowl, toss the apples and berries together; add the lemon juice, mix to combine, add the sugar mixture

Pour the berry/apple mixture into prepared dish; sprinkle the top with the streusel topping

Bake in a hot oven until the top is slightly brown & the fruit is bubbling, about 45-50 minutes

Cool slightly before serving

Serve warm or at room temperature with powered sugar and/or
Chantilly Crème

Yields about 12 servings
When in season, peaches can be substituted, reduce baking time to about 30-35 minutes
