Rum Sauce

           2-oz sweet butter
           ¾ cups brown sugar
           1 cup dark (or spiced) rum
           1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

In a heavy sauce pan, melt the butter & sugar together, stirring constantly

Cook until the mixture bubbles

Off heat add the rum & lemon juice

Over medium-high heat, stir in the rum and cook until the sauce thickens

Serve warm

Yields about 1 cup
