Tulku"In
the Tibetan tradition there are some people who are believed to be very
special and are known as Tulku,
literally meaning reincarnated, but are addressed
to as Rinpoche, meaning precious.
In their past lives they were very learned Buddhist monks known for
being realized persons from a Buddhist philosophical point of view.
All their actions were devoted to the sake of all sentient beings. Their
presence inside the various monastic communities was of great benefit
for everybody, and so at the time of death their reincarnation was looked
for to allow the continuation of the work they had begun in the previous
life. I had the fortune to personally meet one of these very much revered
figures of Tibet, to travel with Him for some months in Tibet and, in
the next years in Nepal and India. His name is Chagar Tulku Rinpoche.
I owe much to Him, for I would not have understood the different shades
of tibetanslifestyle without His help." |
