Graphic Expo 2005
THE Philippines has been called a nation of creative
people. Many big animation studios around the
globe get their talents from the country. With
the advent of new technologies for computer-assisted
publishing, graphics, and web design, the country
has also taken a fair share of this competitive
field with many local freelance and established
companies taking on major clients.
Assisting the growth of the graphic industry and
the professionals – graphic artists, animators,
creative writers, and photographers, among others
– are organizations that sponsor training
events and trade shows. Of the latter, the country’s
premier trade show in desktop publishing, digital
photography, pre-press, print production, large
format printing, web publishing, multimedia and
animation is currently being staged at the Philippine
Trade and Training Center – the 10th Graphic
Expo.
Graphic Expo’s 10th run will involve activities
that follow the unique concept of digital workflow
and process complementation involving various
stages of creative, printing, and multimedia/animation
production. With hundreds of trade buyers, decision
makers, businessmen, and industry professionals
in attendance as exhibitors, visitors or resource
persons for the seminars scheduled during the
event, Graphic Expo will help expand related businesses,
allow professionals and businesses to acquire
new technologies, upgrade existing tools, and
network with industry experts.
We expect Graphic Expo 2005 to surpass the attendance
of over 6,800 visitors in 2004 as the event clearly
exhibits the strength of the country – in
terms of human resources and up-todate technologies
– in the broad field of digital media arts.
