Advertising Anything, Tulsa Oklahoma, September 1997 - July 1998
Full service advertising agency specializing in television, radio, print media.
Director of Creative Services

Promotion Development:
Being placed in front of a microscope is something an artist must experience on a daily basis, but being directly responsible for the success or of a promotion, or being directly responsible for the total waste of a "whole lot of money" is something that brings out the best in me. When a sales person was stuck they came to one man. They came to me because they understood that I treated each clients project not as a job, but as a personal indulgence into a consumer related experience (what will make me buy, is this message to bold /not bold enough, what colors are people attracted to this time of year etc...).

Art Direction:

Public relations with your clientele is extremely important, but public relations within our own people is all to often forgotten. As Creative Director, I was not just incharge of directing the the daily production of art, but I was in charge of directing the daily lives of people, and these people just like a printing press have problems, and issues that need our attention.
Daily forces that control peoples lives, their families and their relationships are at work and we need to be able to adjust to these. It has always been my duty to keep a happy but disciplined work enviornment, but I always remember it starts with me first, A leader needs to lead by example not words alone.

Art Creation:

Here total creative freedom was our motto, no constraints create attractive art and promotions. Without going overboard large format graphics were our specialty. Every month the promotions and advertisements that would be used for the upcoming months were designed by myself and 2 other artists. We had in-house printing, cutting, and die-cutting. We also had a Gerber vinyl cutting machine that was used for cutting vinyl signs.

Print Supervision:

Anyone can look at a job and tell if the color is consistent and the message bold, but supervising pressman often means dealing with people who have years experience at their trade and are extremely good at what they do. I always tried to establish a teacher pupil relationship with printshop owners, sales teams and pressmen, this relationship building ensured high quality because they want to show off what they can do, this often kept our product very clean and our prices very low which made the overall experience the best it could be.
