Support local budding Cartoonist!
This X'mas (and beyond), support a local, young, budding cartoonist! An extremely talented artist, Favian's products (bookmarks, notebooks, etc) can be found in various book stores around Singapore. This is his first year launching his range of comics and X'mas greeting cards. Going by the brand 'Wen's World', he is also diversifying into other areas like cartoon caricature commissioning. And so, if any of you would like Favian to design a cartoon of yourselves on the wedding invite, just contact him! Having known Favian for about a couple of years now, I must say that he is an extremely deep individual with a penchant to pick up the learning of various chinese music instruments. Ask any of our church friends and we will readily agree that any source of music emanating from the background will likely be attributed to Favian testing his new Er-Hu, Di-Zi or thankfully, the more conventional Beethoven-esque piano banging. And may I just add, that his 'piano banging' is a rare gift as he can play a complete song by just hearing the tune once through! "We are not worthy! We are not worthy!" When Favian plays his musical instruments, he would be oblivious to his surroundings, totally enraptured in perfecting his notes. As you may already know, the Er-Hu gives a terribly mournful sound. Probably that is why it is most played at Chinese funerals. The Er-Hu has a unique way of making you want to shed tears even when there is no impetus to cry. One of these 'totally-oblivious-to-the-world' moments happened not too long ago. In one corner was a young couple undergoing pre-marriage counselling. (Ahh, the bliss of marriage theory....often comes crashing down during the honeymoon). In the other corner was Favian playing his Er-Hu, a sad mournful tune of sorrow and loss. Is Favian the death knell ringer (more like Er-Hu player) of a doomed marriage? Will the couple overcome their Er-Hu induced sadness and break Favian's Er-Hu? Oh well, let's not sweat the small stuff and just leave him be with his Chinese instruments. But yes! Do support Favian buy purchasing his merchandise. High quality products, exceptional illustrations and out-of-this-world reasonable prices. What more could you ask for! Check out his website: http://wens-world.com/shop/index.html
