To Live, Love and Loathe!
The Brevity of Life
photo

I am reminded of the brevity of life once again.

Coming to work today, my trusty Sales Administrator, Katherine mentioned that an ex-colleague passed away a couple of days ago. He was 46. His death was attributed to a heart attack. Colleagues were curious when he did not turn up for work and tried calling him but to no avail. His colleagues contacted his brother who entered his house and found that he had already passed away. Whether he went in his sleep or otherwise, it is not known.

In today's edition of the TODAY newspaper, we find a good looking young lad by the name of Paul Hunter, just died of stomach cancer in the UK. He was 27. Known as the 'Beckham in snooker', Paul was a top snooker player. He too married in 2004 to a beautiful wife (Sounds uncannily like me. OK, maybe I'm pushing a bit too much on the 'good looking' part).

Life is just too short to mess around. One can go fishing (like the poor S'porean chaps in the Perth accident) and not come back ever again to your family. One can take heart though, that one of the widows of the deceased angler had this to say about her husband. In not so many words, "My husband would kiss me before he leaves the house for work everyday. Before he left the house that fateful morning, he kissed me before he left, as always."

A kiss will always be a kiss.

Husbands, kiss your wives.
