 | I started learning hockey in the Junior Hockey Promotion Scheme 1993 of Urban
Council. I attended the beginner course in the Summer of F.6. I had a classmate who learnt
indoor hockey in Aberdeen one year before but she didn't like that at all. However, I want
to taste a new experience of this 'strange' sports. As a result, I went to apply the
course at Lok Fu centre on my own. Miss Chu and Mr. Wu were my instructors. At that time,
I didn't think hockey is interesting. |
| After the Phase I training, my coach, Wu Pak Fu, persuade me and 2 other
students to go to the Boundary Street Centre. Frankie Yung was another coach there.
I made made lot of friends there although I didn't know how to control the ball. We
had many gatherings other than the courses. In 94 April, I was having my AL exam lar, but
HKHA organized a Youth hockey Camp at HKSI. I went there anyway and got my second hurt
(the first was a hurt at my head toe on my foot) in my hockey life - a boy follow-through
his stick to hit at my eye bow lar and Actually I didn't realize my bleeding until a
coach rush to me to use his hand cover my hurt! I went to the emergency room and returned
to have dinner late that night. In spite of that, I still felt happy in the camp. |
| Later, my friend in boundary centre Chan Hing Kai introduced me to the Tertiary
Institute Hockey (TIH)'s beginner course at 94 AUG. I joined the TIH and Club De Recreio
(CDR) team since then. |
| From 94 to 97, TIH played in the Division II of HKHA league. Since 97 Winter, HA
introduce a new league called mid-week and put TIH into there. I was in the TIH committee
from 96 to 99. I had been promotion officer, convenor, secretary and comittee member. I
learnt how to organize the hockey courses and helped to coach. The most difficult one was
the convenor post, I needed to organize the team probably in order to keep the team in Div
II. I tried the first umpiring at that year. I also played friendly match with
Glenlola-collegiate school from Australia at that year. In the TIH committee, I got many
good friends such as Kai, Cat, Sesy,
Nelson, Vicky and Rickie. |
| In 94-95, CDR was in Division III, it was promoted to Division II in 96. In 98,
we even got into Division I! I am happy to view the progress of the team. I got many
league experience there. In 96 Mid-Autumn, I went to Singapore to play matches with the
team. We were quite 團結 and 融洽in the
team. However, I was still 場上一隻盲頭烏蠅 at that time. |
| From 97, I joined the Hong Kong team squad training. I just want to play more
hockey and get some improvement. My current team coach Mr. Lee Chun Lay was the coach in
the trainings. I learnt the real hockey since then and got great improvements in my skills
under his coaching even I was not in his team. At least I know how to control my ball
calmly in the match game. |
| After invitations for 2 years from my current teammates, I joined the Zenith team in 99 Winter. It was the 5th
team in Divison I in 98-99 (The highest standing for all chinese team). It is a dream team
with the best coach and good players (many of them are former HK team members). All of
them have the same goal - to play good hockey, to support development of HK Hockey! I am
sure that I can get even more improvements in the future! |
