1979

Most of the posts are made out of CONCRETE . These made by STANTON AND STAVELEY and CONCRETE UTILITIES (CU PHOSCO ) . On the main roads the most of the lanterns are side entry GEC Z8430CM lanterns with MBF BULBS . There are some GEC Z8526 lanterns ( LESS GEAR , SEMI CUT OF BOWLS , 2 part photocells) and some THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns ( less gear , semi cut of bowls , 2 part photocells ).

Along the THE QUAY ( HARBOUR ) there were some 10M metal posts with top entry GEC ? unknown lanterns . In the late 80s , these were changed to new HIGH MAST LIGHTING . The council did not replaced all the lights along this road and there were some CONCRETE UTILITIES (CU PHOSCO ) OCTAGONAL 10M CONCRETE posts with THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns ( less gear , flat glass bowls , 2 part photocells) left along this road . In 2000 these were replaced with new 10M metal posts with post top THORN ALPHA 2000 lanterns ( SONT BULBS , integral gear , flat glass bowls NEMA socket photocells) .

On the side roads most of the lanterns are side entry GEC Z8896 lanterns ( less gear ) with 5M STANTON AND STAVELEY CONCRETE posts.

 1980-1984

1984 -- On the main roads lanterns all the MBF bulbs been changed to SON bulbs.

Along BANKS ROAD , SHORE ROAD ( SANDBANKS ) The posts are 8M metal posts and all the lanterns been changed to side entry THORN ALPHA 8 lanterns ( SONT BULBS , NEMA SOCKET PHOTOCELLS , METAL AND PLASTIC LANTERNS ) from post top GEC ZD10807 lanterns and the posts painted white.

In the 80s the lights along the HIGH STREET were changed from THORN ALPHA 3 LANTERNS ( SON BULBS , less gear , semi cut of bowls , 2 part photocells ) to HOLOPHANE MODULE 600 lanterns ( SONT BULBS ) . There is a lot of new 5M cast iron posts and lanterns were installed as well with SONT BULBS.

All the original 5M cast iron posts and lanterns that were near the PARADISE STREET ( HIGH STREET) were painted black from the old dark and light blue colour.

1987-1990

A lot of the GEC Z8430CM lanterns have been changed in the early 90s and these were changed to THORN ALPHA 8 lanterns ( SONT BULBS ,NEMA SOCKET PHOTOCELLS , ALL PLASTIC LANTERNS ) . With these a lot of the CONCRETE brackets have been changed as well to new metal brackets.

The COUNCIL has stop using CONCRETE posts and is now using metal posts with side arm brackets with THORN ALPHA 8 lanterns ( SONT BULBS , NEMA SOCKET PHOTOCELLS , ALL PLASTIC LANTERNS ) . The posts are painted light grey.

1990 - 1997

Alot of the side lights were changed to THORN BETA 79 lanterns with ( SONT BULBS , NEMA SOCKET PHOTOCELLS , ALL PLASTIC LANTERNS ).

1998-2000

The council is now using THORN ALPHA 2000 lanterns ( integral gear , flat glass bowls , curved glass bowls , NEMA socket photocells) and THORN RIVIERA 1 lanterns ( integral gear , flat glass bowls , NEMA socket photocells ) and these lanterns they can be side entry or post top mounted . The council most of the time mount these as post top.

2000-2001

The rest of the lights along the THE QUAY ( HARBOUR ) been changed to 10M metal posts with post top THORN ALPHA 2000 lanterns ( integral gear , flat glass bowls , NEMA socket photocells ) . The old lights were 10M CONCRETE UTILITIES (CU PHOSO ) CONCRETE posts with THORN ALPHA 3 lantern (flat glass , SONT BULBS , less gear ).

  2002

The council has started using the THORN RIGA LANTERNS ( SONT BULBS , integral gear , NEMA socket photocells ) and these lanterns they can be side entry or post top mounted. The council most of the time mount these as post top.
