1984

Last time I been to BLACKPOOL WAS IN 1984. Every year BLACKPOOL have a lot of lights which they put up on the posts along the sea front in the autumn.

Along the sea front most of the posts were of 10M metal with unknown post tops lanterns.The bulbs in these were mostly SONT BULBS. Some of the lanterns gave out blue and green colour light from the lanterns.

There were some 12-14M posts with GEC ZD10517 lanterns with SON BULBS.All the posts were painted blue with NEMA SOCKET PHOTOCELLS.

Allot of the posts in BLACKPOOL were the concrete type, just of the sea front I can remember one concrete post with 2 doors in it and they were on each side of the post.

1990s

I seen in the TV programes that all the sea front streetlights were changed with new ones . On the new posts are post top UNKNOWN LANTERNS with SONT BULBS. The posts were painted cream colour with red bases.
