1976

 Most of the lights were GEC side entry Fluorescent lanterns , GEC top entry Fluorescent lanterns , side entry GEC Z8691 ( INTEGRAL GEAR , 80W MBF BULB ) , top entry GEC Z5580 ( less gear , refractor bowl , GLS BULB ) .

All these lights were on GEC 5M concrete posts , telegraph posts and these lights turn off about 11-12 midnight and all the lights are mounted at 5M high .

 1977

Most of the lights were changed to side entry THORN BETA 79 lanterns ( 70W SON BULB , integral gear ) except for the side entry GEC Z8691 ( INTEGRAL GEAR , 80W MBF BULB ) .

1980S

The council is started using the SIMPLEX DIADEM MAJOR lanterns ( 70W SON BULB , integral gear ) .

All the old GEC 5M concrete posts and the GEC side entry Fluorescent lanterns ( Z8254 , Z8256 ) , THORN BETA 2 lanterns were changed with new lights and posts.

The new posts are 5M HERITAGE metal posts with post top CU PHOSCO P111 lanterns ( 70W SON bulb , glass refractor ) .

At the junction of THE ESPLANADE , BARTON ROAD and CHARLLACOMBE HILL ROAD some new lights were installed .The new posts were 6M metal posts with side entry THORN BETA 79 lanterns ( 70W SON BULB , integral gear ) .

 1990S

The council is started using the side entry WRTL ( DAVIS ) GR70 lanterns ( 70W SONT BULB , NEMA socket blanking photocell ) with blanking photocells which just link out the NEMA sockets and in these photocells is nothing and these are black in colour .

The council is started using the post top CU PHOSCO P111 lanterns ( integral gear , 70W SON bulb , HIGH BEAM glass refractor and a miniature 1 part photocell ) . The miniature 1 part photocells are fitted on the bottom of the lanterns .

The council is started using the side entry URBIS ZX1 lantern ( integral gear , refractor bowl , white tops , 70W SONT BULB , NEMA socket blanking photocell ) with blanking photocells they just link out the NEMA sockets and in these photocells is just some wire links and these photocells are black in colour .

2002

Alot of these side entry URBIS ZX1 lanterns ( integral gear , refractor bowl , white tops , 70W SONT BULB , NEMA socket blanking photocell ) are along the roads now.

BEACH ROAD ( B3343 ) YEAR SEPT 2002	Along this part of the road all the lights are on telegraph posts and they are side entry URBIS ZX1 lanterns ( integral gear , refractor bowl , white tops , 70W SONT BULB , NEMA socket blanking photocell ) and side entry WRTL ( DAVIS ) GR70 lanterns ( 70W SONT BULB , NEMA socket blanking photocell ) .
