1986
Most of the main road streetlights were made
out of CONCRETE . These made by CONCRETE UTILITIES (CU PHOSO ) and
these are HIGHWAY X CONCRETE posts with 2M high metal brackets on
them. The lanterns on these were THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns ( SON )
,PHILIPS MA lanterns ( SOX ), GEC Z9555 lanterns ( SOX ), GEC Z9554M
lanterns ( SOX ) and some other lanterns.On some of these lanterns
were NEMA SOCKET PHOTOCELLS.
ALBERT DOCK had some 5m HERITAGE posts with
SQUARE post top HERITAGE lanterns with 2 or 3 GLS bulbs in them.The
posts were made in ST HELENS which is near LIVERPOOL. I seen a photo
of two of these lights ( 2000 ) and the lanterns have been changed
with new ones.The new lanterns on them are URBIS ABBEY lanterns with
modern optics in them.
The ROYAL LIVER BUILDING has got 0ne or two
10m metal post with 6 THORN ALPHA 3 lanterns on it next to it.
Near one of the catherals ( HOPE STREET
) the posts were 5m CU
PHOSCO BYWAY NX CONCRETE posts with 1m metal
brackets on them.The lanterns were PHILIPS MI80 side entry lanterns
(55w SOX ) with NEMA SOCKET PHOTOCELLS on them.
