There were some 8M FLUORESCENT lights along
MARINE PARADE ( B1143 ) along the sea front .

There are some THORN BETA 5 lanterns (

entry , side
entry ) , CU PHOSCO P178 RIX
lanterns and some other type of lanterns.

1978 - 1989
The old 8M FLUORESCENT lights along MARINE
PARADE ( B1143 ) along the sea front and they were changed in the
early 80s .The council installed new 10M metal posts with the first
type of THORN
ALPHA 8 lanterns ( SON bulbs
, metal lanterns , RT P42 photocells )
.
Early 1990S
All the lanterns were change from
THORN
ALPHA 1 lanterns ( 90W SOX , less
gear ) to PHILIPS MA 90 lanterns ( 90W SOX , less gear ,
RT P42 photocells ) in the earley 90s along LAWN AVENUE ( A149 ) and
the posts are 8M metal posts.
Along the REGENT ROAD the council installed
new 5M metal HERITAGE posts (modern post with cast iron bits on it )
with post top DAVIS PT1048 heritage lanterns ( SON bulbs ,
RT P42 photocells ) .
2000
I noticed some new HERITAGE lanterns
installed along MARKET PLACE.
Along a path which links NORTH QUAY ROAD and
GEORGE STREET carpark there is a 5M GEC square concrete post with a
top entry BEELCO OPEN TYPE CONICAL No 671 BARE LAMP lantern with a
GLS bulb in it.

YEAR 2000

This section of the road has got 8M
posts because there is a airport which is the next to this
road and all the top halfs of these posts and lanterns been
painted bright red . They done this because of the aircraft
. A long the rest of this road are 10 M metal posts and they
just got grey paint on them .
On the 8M posts are THORN
ALPHA 9 lanterns ( 90W SOX
, less gear , RT P42
photocells ) and PHILIPS MA 90
lanterns ( 90W SOX , less gear , RT P42 photocells ) .
In 1978 there were some other
lanterns on these posts and the top half of these posts
painted red . There were some top entry CU PHOSCO P157
lanterns ( 90W SOX bulbs ) and during the years these have
got replaced with new side entry lanterns .

Z8526 lanterns ( SONT bulbs
, semi-cut off bowls , less gear , 2 part RT P42 photocells ) along TEMPLE ROAD in the town centre .
This GEC
Z8526 lantern is also known
as a SIEMENS MRL5RA lantern .
GEC did made a integral gear
version of this lantern and it was a
GEC Z8536 lantern and is
also known as a SIEMENS MRL5A lantern .
