Control Box relocation
For you that are really excited and just can’t wait the control box can be removed all together but your e- prom light will light. The car will run a little richer also. For you with patience mount the Control box on the frame just in front of the radiator to the far right bottom corner or drivers side. With the original mounting brackets laid flat on the frame, mark through the holes and predrill the screw holes. Screw the control box into place after you have fitted all the wires and vacuum hoses. You will have to lengthen all the wires and vacuum hoses. I suggest that you unplug the control box and number all the hoses before you unplug them from the manifold. With the control box out of the way untape the control box plug wires as far back as you can on the wiring harness. There are 8 wires and 2 plugs. Where ever you feel comfortable cut the plugs off making sure you leave enough wire to crimp your connectors to the harness. Decide where you are going to install the control box, measure the length of wire and vacuum hose you will need for relocating the control box. Crimp your new wire extensions to the harness and feed them to the new control box location. With the straight barb fitting extend each vacuum line back to the intake manifold. Crimp the extended wires to the control box plugs and plug them into control box. When all connections are made you may then screw the control box bracket to your pre drilled holes.
