Installing Turbo Oil Drain Line
The Turbo oil drain line must be lower than the turbo but higher than the oil level in the oil pan. You will punch a hole in the front upper drivers side corner of the oil pan. Don't drill this hole, metal shavings will enter the oil pan and cause engine failure. Start with a very sharp small punch and penitrate the oil pan. Increase your hole size by using a larger and larger punch. This will create a hole with threadable sides as it increases in size. Punch the hole larger until a 3/8th NPT Tap will just start. Apply grease to the tap and thread the hole you have created. Be sure to clean the tap often and reapply new grease to catch metal shavings. Check to see if the hose drain fitting will fit after you have threaded the tap in half way. If not, tap the hole further until the drain fitting will start in the hole. Clean off the hole with brake clean and rag, don't shoot brake clean in the hole. Never blow air into the oil pan through the hole. Apply silicone to the drain fitting and screw the 3/8ths fitting into the drain pan. Wait for the silicone to set up while you work on something else. Next, drain the oil and chase with mineral spirits through the new turbo drain fitting you just installed. Install your turbo drain line hose to the turbo drain fitting and hose clamp the hose. Attach the other end of the hose to the new fitting on the drain pan and hose clamp together. Next, make sure your oil pan has drained all the mineral spirts, and then replace your drain pan bolt. Fill your engine with oil to Honda spec's
Warning: Do not install your drain fitting where this guy did. Do you see the circle above the #1, this is a spot weld that holds your splash pan in the oil pan. There also is a spot weld where the drain fitting shown has been installed. These two locations are difficult to punch but are at the right height. So draw a line from spot weld to spot weld and punch your hole where the X is shown. This will avoid hitting the splash pan and punching the hole much easier.
