Internet Var!

Finally--it's installed!  Actually, we finally got it hooked up on Saturday, but I was afraid to write it in public domain for fear of angering the gods and having it taken away.  ;-0    Anyway, so now we are buzzing along and I can no longer claim ignorance with the state of the world's affairs.

We have our first meeting with the midwife tomorrow and we are all looking forward to it.  I don't really know what to expect, except some conversation about what we want, what she wants, etc.  I'm a pretty simple and straightforward gal, so I don't imagine that we'll have too much trouble describing what we're looking for.  I hate to think about it, but I suppose if this doesn't work out, then we'll just have to keep looking or prepare to go it alone.  We have our next doctor's appointment this week, too, so it will be an interesting week.

Meg starts school next week.  Ekrem and I have an appointment with the director on Wednesday to discuss some of the problems that were apparent last school year and to see what the plan is to "fix" them.  We met the new principal today, and I'm sure he's a nice fellow, but how smart is it to have a principal at an International school who doesn't speak English?  Color me not impressed.  Strike one.  I'll be making a list of concerns to take with me so that I don't forget anything.  I tend to get side-tracked easily and besides, I'm a compulsive list-maker anyway.

The animals are better behaved these days.  They still "play," more like Sari barks and Askim swats her nose, but it doesn't seem as hostile as it was a few days ago.  Askim seems like she might let Sari stay, if only because she likes to eat the dog food.  Sari is getting to be quite a fat little roly-poly thing.  We are having to ration her food so that she doesn't overeat.  She still has the starvation mentality of not knowing if she'll eat again, so I can understand.  We have tried putting her in the basement at night and blocking the steps so that she couldn't get up, but that didn't work.  I finally gave up and just bring her into bed with us.  That way, she wakes me up at night when she needs to go potty.  She hasn't had any nighttime accidents since I started doing that and it's getting me trained for when the baby comes, too.  Twenty six weeks to go!
