Love Hurts

People say that love hurts,
At first I didn’t understand why,
But now I know how it hurts.

I was with him for almost a year,
We had plans to marry one day,
But now those plans are broken.

All the promises we made,
To stay together, forever,
Are now just heartbreaking memories.

I will always love him,
I will remember the way he loved me,
And the way he held me in his arms.

The way he kissed me sweetly,
And his gentle touch,
I will never forget him.

He was my first love,
He was my only love,
He was and is my last love.

I miss him more than anything now,
And it hurts to think about it,
The heartache is much.

Forever and For Always we said,
But for how long is forever?
Is this as far?

I hope we get together again,
But as long as I live,
Forever he will be in my heart.
