            What would you do if you knew that your life was on the line every second of everyday?  Experiencing life through the eyes of Jennifer Garner’s character, Sydney Bristow on the television show “Alias”, would be both intriguing and terrifying.  Sydney has great athletic ability, extraordinary intellectual, and has a strong character, which aids her in the fight against evil and corruption.  Having the opportunity to walk in her shoes would be a very unique experience because of the rare life she leads. 

            Sydney Bristow is multitalented.  She is a double agent working for the CIA to bring down SD-6 which is posing as a covert branch of the CIA.  SD-6 deals with the sale of intelligence, weapons, medical technology, military secrets and computer advancements, in exchange for profit.  Sydney is successful because she is well trained in the areas of martial arts, surveillance, high-risk retrieval, firearms, sophisticated technologies, pursuit and evasion, and linguistics.  These skills make her the top field agent for both the CIA and SD-6.  Her athletic ability aids her in her job which in turn contributes to her captivating character.  Sydney frequently wears disguises, which help her to seduce enemies, infiltrate facilities, and blend into crowds.  She has even played dead to save another agent in trouble.  Sydney is considered a very attractive individual which is a desirable quality.  She uses her extraordinary beauty to entrap the enemy and obtain what she needs to complete her mission.  It is apparent that the diverse physical abilities of Sydney Bristow aid in her virtuous fight against evil. 

            In addition to her physical traits, Sydney’s strong willed character and ability to obtain knowledge also contribute to her job.  Sydney is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Russian, Japanese and several other languages.  Her multilingual abilities assist her in disguising her identity.  She also posses a keen intellect and is a quick learner with extraordinary problem solving abilities.  Sydney can memorize codes and number patterns almost instantly and has a very spatial mind.  In addition, her ability to think fast on the spot has saved her life numerous times during secret missions.  She has to be intuitive and think a step ahead of the game at all times.  This is necessary so that she does not expose herself as a double agent to her SD-6 boss or slip anything that would reveal her involvement with United States intelligence to her friends.  It is evident that Sydney’s intelligence makes her successful in her work.

             Sydney Bristow’s ability to excel at her job is the most intriguing part of her life.  She combines her strong physical abilities and tough character to serve the United States.  Her job as a double agent is very challenging and she is very good at what she does. Sydney is a very self-assured person and appears completely fearless.  This is necessary in her dangerous fight for what she believes in.  It takes pure strong will and a set mind to accomplish her goal to annihilate evil.  When she is faced with a difficult situation, it takes both her quick thinking and physical effort to conquer the enemy and complete the mission. 

            The opportunity to walk in Sydney Bristow’s shoes would be a wonderful and mind enriching experience.  Being in her place as she is constantly mindful and apprehensive of her surroundings, yet continues to pursue her goal, would be an unforgettable adventure.  Having the chance to acquire the skills and confidence Sydney posses would be extremely rewarding.  With all new abilities filling my mind and different physical traits and capabilities, I would be set to try my luck in the dangerous and noble field of work Sydney mingles in every day.
