"She's coming." gasped Filia. "Ok." confirmed Drescara. "Filia, Xelloss, I'll--" "I'll attack her first, and you can come in once I made my first blow. Then, Filia can start chanting after we've wounded her." explained Xelloss. Filia and Drescara nodded, and started to move their way closer to the moaning of a creature ahead of them. The sounds of slimy tentacles were heard echoing through the room, as Filia tried to consentrate stronger, repeating her spell to overwhelm her fear. As they walked further towards the end of the huge room they always seemed to end up in, the room appeared to be darker. "Is it usually this dark?" asked Drescara. "How am I supposed to know?!" snapped Xelloss. "Just trying to make conversation...." he sniffed. Xelloss shoock his head and looked towards Filia. Her mouth kept whispering the chant she just learned, and he hoped she could remember all of it. "What's that?" gasped Filia. Her eyes widened in shock, as something ahead of her made her want to scream. "It's ugly!" smirked Xelloss. "Thanks. That's my mom." stated Drescara dryly. "Geez, I'm sorry pal." said Xelloss patting the folded wings on his back. "Must be tough to have a bitch as a mom." he smiled. Drescara faked a laugh, and looked seriously at his queen. The slimy noise should explain the horrifying tentacles of the huge mother. She was so big, that it looked impossible for the legs to hold up the enormous -not to mention fat-body. @_@ Her arms and legs were all covered in spikes, and her body colour was an awkward green, that shone numerous colours in any light. "Are you sure you're related to that thing?" asked the shivering Filia. "I'll take that as a compliment." Xelloss and Filia looked at him questioningly, but then nodded. Not only was this thing fat, it was armed all over her body. Scaled back, with something that looked like wings, and spikes on her arms and legs. Her face was so high up to see, but Xelloss decided to explain it for Filia. "Well, her face is worse... especially those eyes. Even though her tentacle hair covers them, they're definately hard to miss. Remember those bug eyed things? Well, this is the side of the family they got them from. The tentacles, too, I guess." Xelloss is talkative now, isn't he? "Yes, that's true. And the winged creatures, are descended from me." Drescara whispered coldly. His fists clenched, as anger rose from him. "For killing my father, I will kill you, my dear queen of the Gitulyss." "What did you say....?" growled the creature infront of them. Her voice was so echoing, it nearly knocked them over. "Now, Xelloss!" yelled Drescara, but Xelloss knew ahead of time when to attack. He plunged straight for her spiked chest, but then realized to go for her arms. That way she wouldn't be able to get that... thing that appears from nowhere. "Remember ME?" yelled Xelloss, as he aimed, and slashed her hand with a green attack from the ground. The queen simply accepted the attack without pain, and looked at her son. "Why are you attacking me, Drescara." it scolded. "Oh dear mother, you think I don't know? You MURDERED my FATHER!" his magnificent wings spread, as he sprang high into the air above the queen's face. "Oh? How sad.... Well, father like son! Prepare to DIE!" she laughed. The big thing on her back that only looked like wings, were more tentacles to use for defence. They shot out at the unprepared Drescara, as Xelloss jumped high to defend him. After all, he needed all the power he can get to defeat this thing. The big eyes of the creature spotted Xelloss attacking, before she had the chance to punish her son. Her... hair.. changed it's course, and headed for Xelloss. Xelloss, trying to disappear, fell back, but not in time. "XELLOSS!" cried out Filia. Drescara was too late, and he couldn't stop the attack. Xelloss watched as the tentacles neared his defenceless self, and felt stabbing pain quickly, and yet so slowly, enter his weak body. His eyes widened at the sting of pain, as it entered his body, and left it falling to the ground beneath him. He never felt pain that he couldn;t recover, and his first thought was rage. He smacked the ground forcefully, as Filia ran up to him. The impact to the ground made it crack, and made Xelloss moan in pain. "Xelloss! Xelloss! Heal Yourself!" yelled Filia, trying not to get too close. Xelloss didn't want, or need her worries. All that was in his mind was rage. He closed his eyes in pain, as his hand covered multiple holes in his chest. "Xelloss! Speak to me!" cried Filia. "Stay back!" snapped Xelloss. "Go!" out of his rage and piercing pain, he manaeged to curse Filia to stay back. "I can heal you!" "NO! STAY BACK!" Xelloss yelled. Filia saw the holes in him, and slowly looked down in sorrow. She could hear Drescara's screams in the air above her, and the laughter of the queen. Xelloss didn't die that easily. He quickly stood up, and charged for the monster. With a high leap, he knocked her unprepared head, and landed in the corner of the massive room. "HAAA!" Drescara's lazer breath pierced the queens cheek, and tore off some of her defending tentacles. Although it seemed like victory, Drescara was quickly weakening. The queen decided to go for Xelloss, who attacked first. The trickster turned to face the monster as he heard a crash against the ground. The mother's back tentacles grew back, and dug into the ground. Xelloss, shocked and confused tried to figure out what she was doing, but Filia knew first. The dragon girl quickly remembered Xelloss in a corner, and being attacked from behind, in her vision. She disappeared, and re-appeared quickly, infront of the queen. "BLAME BREATH!" she yelled, as the tentacles infront of her started to burn, and dissolve, as the queen cried out in pain. Xelloss jumped at the queen again, and slapped her with a magic blow from his staff, and landed back beside Filia, ready to defend himself. Drescara repeatedly attacked her arms, to make sure she wouldn't get a magic amplified spear. Even that wasn't enough. The queen suddenly started to glow bright blue, as she screamed out something that looked exaclty like the lazer breath. Xelloss was stunned, and didn't know if he could dodge. The attack blew him against the wall, and made him choke on what felt like his heart. He couldn't breath, and fell to the ground. The wind got knocked out of him pretty good, and he was now defenceless. It was up to Filia now. All she could do was the one attack she learned. Nothing else would work. She watched as Drescara tried the multiple dragon attacks, but nothing would work. Nothing, but her. "Please, let this work..." she prayed. Xelloss looked up at Filia, still full or rage. How could a mere golden dragon be more powerful than him! He still didn't know why Beastmaster was doing this. He was dying. So painful, because so annoying. Annoying to the fact that it's taking too long. He was supposed to be dead by now. He didn't have any recovery strength left, so who is keeping him still alive? The one who created him. Beastmaster. Xelloss looked up at Filia with pure white eyes. Beastmaster was keeping him alive for one thing. To amplify Filia. Why should he! He should just let her die! A piercing amount of pain struck his chest as he thought, which he soon realized meant "no". "Fine! FINE! I don't know what you're planning, my beastmaster, but I shall continue on with my orders. Even if I give up my life." Xelloss said, slowly standing a few feet back from Filia." Filia held her hands out infront of her, as she felt power around them. She has to try. "Hovering High and Low. Imbetween all things." A huge light surrounded her, as a wind blew her clothes, and hair. Her eyes kept closed, as she trusted Drescara to defend her until she's finished the chant. "To Take Away My Sorrow, In your power I Believe." Xelloss watched in amazement, as he finally realized what attack she would be using. It would kill her! "Calling upon the power of a the Gods, and the power of a monster. Lost to the dragons for centuries, and even to the monsters during the War of the Monster's Fall. How could Drescara know that spell! Could it be possible that people from the Overworld knew? That could cause a massive destruction to occur here! You need so much power to kill this bitch?!?" "To prevent all death and destruction, to prevent all these demands. All the power within me, gather into my hands!" Filia was now surrounded by a wind so strong, it turned into a tornado. Xelloss kept his ground, as he watched Filia struggle for control. He couldn't believe this attack still existed, and watched as the beauty of power surrounded Filia. Drescara watched, frightfully. Maybe Filia couldn't handle it, after all.... The queen cursed loudly, and tried to attack the chanting dragon, only to be stopped by the still fighting Drescara. "I Bestow Myself To Lightness. I Bestow Myself To Darkness." A huge amount of blowing energy appeared in Filia's awaiting hands. The queen struggled to get away from the flying Drescara, as Xelloss started to walk up to Filia. Filia needs more power. Xelloss needs to complete this mission. All he could do is give Filia his power, to kill the mother of the still defending Drescara. It would also mean his death, if Beastmaster will give up letting him live.... It's his only choice. And hey, maybe Xellas will forgive him, if he complete's his mission. "Well, here it goes..." Xelloss walked uneasily toward the whirlpool of Filia's power. He wasn't being attacked, or destroyed by her power... maybe because it wasn't fully active yet. Sounds of Drescara and the queen wasn't heard by Filia's ears anymore. The only thing she could think about now, was this spell. It wasn't fully functional, and FIlia did have her doubts, but the thought of atleast trying, covered up her thought of failure. With her eyes still closed and consentrating, she didn't see, nor hear Xelloss approaching her. He reached her back, and hair flew in his face, letting him smell her sweetness of shampoo. He felt his strength within her, and knew exactly how to set it off. He was almost leaning on Filia, as he began to place his arms around Filia. Filia's eyes widened, as she felt a huge amount of power flow within her, amplifying her attack. She felt arms around her waist, tight, but warm. And she felt Xelloss' cheek near hers, as he hugged her tighter, giving her more power. "Show this bitch what kind of team we really make, dear Filia." he said slightly kissing her cheek with his talking lips. Filia couldn't care less what Xelloss was doing now. It was her only chance, and she had to take it. "Both power combined, destroy what I am seeing!" Xelloss was losing his sight, as he felt his strength leave him. He kept his grip on Filia, making sure she'd finish the spell. The queen was raging, and nearly stepped on the still chanting Filia. Her enormous foot was ten times larger than Filia's body, but that wouldn't stop her now. Drescara noticed the spell was nearly finished, and he had to take cover. But he had to still protect her. He attacked his mother with all his power, and couldn't stop. He was too much in rage, and revenge. All he could think about was revenge for his dear father. "Xelloss Mettalium, grant me thy willpower! Grant me thy strength! Please..." Xelloss was doing what he was told, and was giving Filia all he had left, but kept enough for a little while longer. "LIGHTING......" Xelloss could feel the power in Filia, he could already feel her victory. As well as his end... Flashes of bright light blasted the queen, as Drescara escaped for safety. The helpless mother had no place to escape. She trying to form herself into a smaller creature, but Filia's attack gave her no time to do so. Blast after blast. But Filia wasn't done yet. "TORNADO......." The light suddenly turned into a tornado blast, and shocked the creature deeply. Her big eyes widened, and she screamed in pain and agony. Xelloss smiled at her pain, and completion of his mission, but closed his eyes in suffering. Filia still felt Xelloss, and still felt power. Now.. finally.. she will finish her off! "LIGHTING TORNADO DARK!" The room full of bright light tornados immediately turned perilous. Darkness engulfed the screaming queen, as Filia held her hands high, with angry eyes. Xelloss fell to his knees, with his arms slowly falling off of Filia. Filia felt a sudden rush of cold fear, as Xelloss slid down her back. Completing the spell, the blast of the attack smacked the two against the wall behind them, and killed the screaming Gitulyss. Xelloss slowly opened his eyes, not wanting to fall asleep. The pain was unbearable. He never felt it like this.... The monster forced himself towards the wall, and sat himself upright, so that he could easily breath.... for now.... Filia opened her eyes, as she felt her lip and stomach. Blood. She quickly looked at Xelloss, and saw his chest rise and fall. His eyes were open, and staring at her with a sweet smile. "Xelloss...." Filia whispered. She crawled over to him, "It's over, Xelloss. You saved me, and you saved the golden dragons. Thank you." she said softly, as a tear fell from her cheek. "Filia..." Xelloss finally replied. "I guess I have to go sooner or later." he let out a fake laugh. "I don't have much time..... to say goodbye...." "No... what are you saying?!" gasped Filia. "I gave you my power Filia, and I also gave you my strength. My life....." "Xelloss! No... no!" Filia wanted to shake Xelloss back to his senses, but realized she couldn't touch him. Or else she'd take away his remaining life...... "No! Xelloss.... you can't!" she smacked the floor with tears in her eyes, and didn't even want to think about Xelloss being dead. "Why Xelloss! Why!?!" "Now that's not a secret.... dear Filia.. didn't you know?" he smiled sweetly, and winked, as he held up his index finger. "Don't you know that you're my dragon? I like you, dear Filia..... I don't know how I do.... but I do." Xelloss felt his last breath coming, but he didn't want to die like this. He never thought of the day he'd die.... he didn't want to die without holding his biggest "nuisance" one last time.... "Filia," he started to say... "even if I do die, I don't want to die without you in my arms....." he smiled when Filia just answered with a soft cry. "I realized, and I was punished for my feelings for you. That's why whenever I hold you, my power is taken away as punishment." he sighed. "Who would have thought you'd be the lucky dragon. Too bad it couldn't work out...." "Please... don't say that..... you're not going to leave! You're not going to leave me here alone!" she sobbed. "You know, our child would have turned out to be Valgaav..." Xelloss smirked. Filia laughed, and cried at the same time. Valgaav.... and the others.... "You can't leave me, Xelloss." she said as she looked right into his soft eyes. Xelloss saw her sorrow, and felt his own eyes sting with a pain he has never felt. The pain of sorrow.... He quickly felt his cheek with his left hand, and looked at it, shocked. A wet tear.... Filia was also quite shocked. "Xelloss..." So much sorrow... is this how everyone feels at death? What comes next? What will beastmaster do... how will Filia live with the guilt of draining my power.... No.. Xelloss was the one that held her. "Filia, you didn't do anything wrong. You did everything right. It was me who chose to hold you...." explained Xelloss, as another tear fell down his cheek. Filia watched him closely, and saw the loss of life in his eyes. He was leaving.... he was really leaving. He looked so empty... so weak..... "So what am I going to do now? Xelloss? Who will I always be afraid of, or who will I always make fun of? Who will I call raw garbage?" she accused, as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I--" "How Xelloss, HOW?!?" "I'm sorry, dear Filia... for being a monster....." Xelloss started to shake, and he felt his eyes failing to stay open. "No Xelloss, don't be sorry. I'm sorry, for even caring about your race." Xelloss shivered with cold, and his face turned pale. "Soon...." he struggled to say. Filia couldn't imagine life without the trickster, so she just had to ask. "Xelloss..... come back to me....?" pleaded Filia. "Only if you do something for me, Filia. Please... let me die in your arms....." Filia sobbed, and didn't make any move to do so. "No! I'll kill you! I don't want to kill you! I want-- I want to love you....." she confessed. Xelloss didn't smile. He just shed another tear. "Filia. If you do something for me, I'll do something for you, my dear dragon......" Filia wiped her eyes from tears, and looked at the awaiting Xelloss, but as she looked at his helpless, frail body, she couldn't help but cry. Xelloss embraced Filia as she sobbed in his arms. "Arigato, thank you..." he whispered, as he kissed her slightly on her soft, blond, head. "You promise me you'll be back, right?" asked Filia. There was no response. "Right?" repeated Filia, as she let go of him to look at his face. Xelloss' head was limp, as the rest of his body. Filia gasped, as she put her hand to her mouth. She cried, as she touched his soft cheek, only making one last tear fall from his sorrowful, and yet happy, eyes. Filia sobbed, and couldn't believe her senses. "No.... You didn't say I PROMISE! You can't leave me, XELLOSS!" she pleaded. "Xelloss...." Filia covered her face with her shaking hands, as she heard a slight twinkle infront of her. She looked up, and saw Xelloss' body slowly disappearing before her eyes. "You can't.... leave me all alone.. Xelloss......" she cried. "Please...... O-negai...." The monster Xelloss, kept the smile on his face, and fully disappeared out of sight. "Please.. Xelloss......." "Xelloss..." repeated beastmaster. |
