Here it is:
Chandler: Monica, are you coming over tonight?
Monica: You bet I am.
Phoebe: Aw, aren't they so cute together?
Monica: Shut up.
Rachel: So, what are we doing tonight?
Ross: I heard there's a good movie at the Cineplex tonight, let's go.
Joey: I can't, I have to go to my grandmother's for dinner tonight.
Monica: Me and Chandler have a date tonight.
Rachel: I'll go.
Phoebe: Me too.
(Door opens...in walks Lily Abott, played by Kathryn Johnston (If you haven't heard of her, that's because it's me.)
<Lily looks disoriented, she pulls a picture from her pocket, looks at it, then looks around the coffeehouse. She approaches Phoebe>
Lily: Hello, are you Phoebe Buffay?
< Holds out her hand for a handshake>
Phoebe: Yes, I am. Who are you?
Lily: I am your sister, Lily Abbot.
<Everyone freezes>
Opening Credits
Phoebe: You, you, you're my sister?
Lily: Yes, mind if I have a seat?
Phoebe: Sure
<Scoots over and invites her to sit down)
Monica: Hey, look, it's the ice cream man! Let's go get an ice cream!
Chandler: Okay
Ross: Okay
Joey: I don't...oh, okay.
Rachel: Right behind you guys!
(All five of them leave, leaving Phoebe and Lily on the sofa)
Phoebe: So, uh...how old are you?
Lily: I'm fifteen.
Phoebe: Oh, who are your parents?
Lily: Phoebe Abbot, and Frank Buffay. I was born about a year after Lily Buffay killed herself. Daddy was very
upset, so..uh, well, he and mom ended up together, and then nine months later I was born. Mom named me Lily
in honor of her friend.
Phoebe: Wow, I guess that was right after I went to live with my grandmother.
Lily: So, uh...do you want to know about me?
Phoebe: Sure, I guess.
Lily: Okay, well, I was born fifteen years ago, in Montauk, and when I was five, mom sent me to boarding school
in Maine. I was just kicked out for lighting the gym on fire.
Phoebe: (edges away from Lily) Oh.
Lily: And when I went back home to Montauk, I was looking through some old pictures, I found a picture of you
and mom. Do I have any other siblings?
Phoebe: Yeah, I have a twin sister Ursula, and we have a half brother named Frank Jr. Upstate.
Lily: Cool. Are you okay with this?
Phoebe: With what?
Lily: Oops, I forgot, mom wanted me to spend some time with you here in New York.
Phoebe: Oh, yeah, sure, I guess that's okay.
<Cut to Monica and Rachel's apartment. The whole gang is there except Phoebe>
Monica: Oh my God. Poor Phoebe.
Rachel: Really. First losing her mother, then finding out she has a half brother, then finding out the person who
she thought was her birth mom wasn't her birth mom, and then losing her grandmother.
Joey: Really? When did all of this happen?
<They all glare at Joey>
Joey: I mean, poor Phoebe.
Chandler: I wonder how Phoebe’s taking this.
<The door opens, and Lily is leading in a weeping Phoebe>
Chandler: <to himself> Oh, that's how.
Ross: What's wrong?
Lily: I asked her if I could stay with her for a little bit, and then she just broke down.
Rachel: Oh, Lily dear, Phoebe’s been through a lot on her life, this isn't your fault.
Lily: I know that, but I need somewhere to stay.
Monica: You can stay here.
Phoebe: NO! She will stay with me. I need to have a sister that I can actually know.
Chandler: Hey Joey, Ross, I think I hear the phone ringing in our apartment.
Ross: I don't live with you, but..uh, it could be something that deals with me.
<The guys leave>
Lily: Is there anything I can do?
Monica: No honey, you can just have a seat on the couch.
Lily: No, I want to help. This is my sister. I think I know what she is going through. She isn't the only one who just
found out she had a sister. And I didn't tell her this, but mom kicked me out. I have no where else to stay.
Monica: Oh, Lily, I am so sorry, did you bring any clothes?
Lily: I have a few things, but they are in an alley, I didn't know if Phoebe would let me stay with her.
Monica: Okay, honey, I'll have Rachel go with you to get them.
Monica: Rachel, can you come here?
Rachel: Okay..what do you need?
Monica: I need you to take Lily to go get her clothes, she'll tell you where they are.
Rachel: Okay. C'mon Lily.
Lily: Coming.
<Rachel and Lily leave>
Phoebe: I want to get to know her so bad, but why did she all of the sudden just realize that I am her sister?
Oh...
Monica:What is it honey?
Phoebe: My toenails didn't grow yesterday, I knew something bad was going to happen. I just didn't know that it
would also be good. Oh, Mon, I am so confused.
Monica: Oh, honey, it's okay.
Phoebe: I know it's okay...but I don't know if it's okay.
Monica: What do you mean?
Pheobe:Well it's okay with me, but I don't know if it's okay with her. She seems like she is covering up
something.
<Cut to the guy's apartment. All the guys are there>
Chandler: This is huge. I have no clue how Phoebe can take it all.
Ross: And you think the rest of us can?
Chandler: Well, I thought maybe you might understand, but Joey, uh, yeah, right.
Joey: Heeey, what are we talking about?
Chandler:Uh....
Ross: Understanding quantum physics.
Joey: Oh yeah, I defiantly don't understand those.
Ross: Don't you mean that you don't understand that?
Joey: Huh?
Chandler: Nevermind.
Ross: Hey, you guys, do you think that we should do something nice for Phoebe.
Chandler: Like what? Tell her that we have magically made all her problems disappear?
Joey: That would work!
Chandler: Yeah, it would. All we need is some magical pixie dust.
Joey: I wonder where we could get that....
Chandler: You numbskull! I have been lying this whole time!
Joey: Really? So you mean I actually can understand platinum fizzies?
Chandler: Uh...
Ross: I think maybe it's time we went back over to Monica's.
Joey: I think I'll stay here. I am going to read up on platinum fizzies. They sound really interesting.
<Chandler groans and rolls his eyes. He and Ross leave the apartment while Joey is flipping through an
encyclopedia.>
Ross:Okay, let's knock first, we want to make sure they want us in there.
Chandler: Okay.
Ross: You knock.
Chandler: No, you knock.
Ross: No...you knock.
Chandler: Okay! We will both knock.
<They knock. Monica silently brings them in. They see that Phoebe is sleeping on the couch.>
Ross: So, uh...what happened?
Monica: Well, Lily brought in a crying Phoebe, and she told me that she had to move in with Phoebe for awhile,
but when she told Phoebe that, Phoebe broke down.
Ross: So, uh, where is Lily right now?
Monica: She went with Rachel to get her belongings.
Chandler: Are you sure it's a good idea to send her with Rachel? Doesn't she have your credit card right now?
Monica: Yeah..so?
<We cut to a scene with Rachel and an armload of clothes waiting in line at Saks Fifth Avenue. You can just
barely see her and Lily behind the enormous pile of clothes>
Ross: You never know with Rachel. Is anyone here remembering what a shopper she is?
Monica: Oh, she wouldn't go shopping on my credit card.
Chandler: As Ross said, remember what a shopper she is?
Monica: Oh, come on, she wouldn't do that, would she?
<Time lapse, we forward an hour or two, and Rachel and Lily enter with a huge armload of full bags>
Rachel: Hey guys!
Commercial Break
Monica: Rachel! Why did you use my credit card to buy all of these clothes, you know I don't have any money.
Rachel: I am sorry Mon, but I will pay you back!
Monica: Rachel, you don't have any money either!
Lily: Uh, I am sorry, but am I being too much of a burden?
Phoebe: No! C'mon sis, lets go back to my apartment.
<Phoebe and Lily leave>
Rachel: Mon, I only bought the clothes because she had, like, nothing. I felt really sorry. All she had was this
disgusting plaid school uniform, and everybody knows, plaid is WAY out.
Monica: Whatever, but you owe me BIG.
Chandler: Hey, Mon, wanna go back to my place.
Monica: Okay, let's go.
<Monica and Chandler leave holding each other>
Joey: Aw, they are so cute together.
Rachel: Remember when you hit on me? Now THAT was cute, annoying, but cute.
Ross: (Yawns) Hey, I am kinda tired, I am gonna get going.
Rachel: See you tomorrow
Joey: See ya man.
<Ross leaves>
Rachel: Joey, I am going to bed, shopping always tires me, but you can hang out here, if you don't want to go
back to your apartment for awhile.
Joey: Thanks Rach.
<Rachel goes into her room, Joey sits back on the couch, and flips on the TV, we cut to Phoebe’s apartment>
Lily: Thanks for letting me stay with you.
Phoebe: No prob. I am going to call mom and tell her you got here safely.
Lily: No! I mean, don't bother. I already called her when I was out with your friend shopping.
Phoebe: Okay...
Lily: Okay, where do you want me to sleep?
Phoebe: Just go right in there.
Lily: Thanks.
<Lily leaves and goes into Phoebe’s guest bedroom>
Phoebe: I wonder why she doesn't want me to call mom.
<Phoebe goes into her room>
(The next day, at Central Perk, Phoebe, Lily, Chandler, Monica, and Joey are there)
Lily: I think I am going to the bathroom.
Phoebe: Okay.
<Lily goes back the bathrooms>
Phoebe: Hey guys, Lily doesn't want me to call mom, and I have no clue why. Do any of you know?
Monica: No.
Joey: Nope.
Rachel: Uh-uh.
Chandler: No.
Phoebe: Huh, do you guys think that I should call?
Rachel: Yeah, I think you should.
Phoebe: Okay, I will.
<Phoebe goes over to the pay phone>
Monica: Rachel? What the heck is wrong with you?
Rachel: What? I just told Phoebe to call her mom.
Monica: Okay I really do know why Lily doesn't want her to call their mom.
Joey: Why?
Monica: She told me yesterday. She got kicked out her school for trying to burn down the gym.
Chandler: Whoa...
Monica: That's not all...
Joey: Jeez...
Monica: She got sent back home to live with her mom in Montauk, but she didn't just come here yesterday, she
has been here for about a month. Her mom kicked her out. She's been living on the streets.
Joey: Hey...both of them are street people. <Everyone glares at him> I mean, aw, that's really sucks.
Rachel: It does.
Chandler: What are we going to do?
Monica: I don't know, she doesn't have any place else to go, and when Phoebe finds out, she's going to blow
the roof.
<Lily comes back from the bathroom>
Lily: Hey guys, whatcha been up to?
Chandler: Nothing much.
Lily: Where's Phoebe?
Rachel: I don't know, where DID she go?
<Phoebe comes back>
Phoebe: Hey guys. Lily, let's go back to my apartment.
Lily: Okay. Bye guys.
<Lily and Phoebe leave, everyone else has horrified looks on their faces. Ross enters.>
Ross: Hey guys.
All: Hey Ross.
Ross: I have a problem.
Monica: What is it?
Ross: Susan and Carol are moving. To California.
Rachel: Oh my God, are you okay?
Ross: No, I don't know what to do. I mean, they should keep Ben, since there are two of them, but when am I
ever going to get to see Ben? What am I going to do?
Monica: Oh honey.
Joey: This is awful, what are you going to do?
Chandler: Joe, I think he just asked himself that.
Joey: But I haven't asked him.
Ross: I guess I am going to let them take him to California, but I am going to miss him.
Rachel: Well, maybe they could send him out here for summers, or you could visit him.
Ross: That's an idea, but I just want to be there when he comes back from school. I want to play baseball with
him and his friends, I want to teach him how to make a soapbox racer car.
Chandler: You don't even know how to make those.
Ross: Well, if he was here I could learn.
Joey: How? Would he teach you, or something.
Ross: Thanks for the support Joe.
Joey: No problem.
Ross: So, uh, let's put my problems aside, how's it going with Phoebe and Lily? I saw them leaving.
Rachel: Well, I accidently let Phoebe call her mom because I didn't know the whole story, and I think Phoebe’s
about to chew Lily out.
Ross: W-what whole story?
Monica: Lily didn't just come here yesterday. She was kicked out by her mom, and she has been living on the
streets for a couple of weeks.
Ross: Wow, I had no clue.
Joey: She also tried to burn down her school's gym. But I wish I had thought of that when I was in school. That
would have been cool.
Chandler: Ah yes, the role model of the millenium...Joey!
Joey: Thanks, I am not really that good, but...thanks.
Chandler: <softly> Does this man never get sarcasm?
<We cut to Phoebe’s apartment, they are just arriving in there>
Phoebe: Hey Lily, I have something to ask you.
Lily: Sure, what?
Phoebe: Why didn't you want me to call mom?
Lily: Uh, well, no reason really. I just already called her, and I didn't want you to have to go through all of the
trouble.
Phoebe: Oh, well, I called her.
Lily: What! What did she say?
Phoebe: She told me that she kicked you out! When were you planning on telling me this?
Lily: Look, I'm sorry, but it's not my fault. Do you know what it's like to be away from your family for ten years,
and when you finally see them, they just throw you out? How do you think I felt? You were my last hope for a
home. I just want to have family that cares about me!
Phoebe: I am sorry, but...
Lily: No buts! Look, I am sorry, but I already told your brunette friend, whatever her name is, but that's only
because I was afraid that you wouldn't want me! <Lily starts sobbing>
Phoebe: Oh, Lily, I am so...
<Phoebe puts her arm aroung Lily, but Lily just shrugs it off>
Phoebe: Lily, I am sorry. I just want to know what is going on in your life. I still want you to be here.
Lily: No you don't ! You are just saying that out of sympathy. I am leaving.
Phoebe: Lily wait!
<Lily gathers up her stuff and walks out, Phoebe picks up the phone>
Phoebe: Mon? Hi. I just had a fight wih Lily. I think she's headed over to your place. Fix her something to eat. I'll
be over later. I want to give her time to cool off. Thanks, bye.
<We cut over to Monica and Rachel's apartment, Monica is just hanging up the phone, only Monica and Rachel
are there>
Rachel: Who was that?
Monica: It was Phoebe, she had a fight with Lily, and she thinks that she'll be heading over here.
Rachel: Oh, poor Lily. This must be really hard on her.
Monica: And Phoebe too, she has had so much happen in her life, and she just keeps going.
Rachel: I know, I could never do that.
<There is a knock on the door, Monica answers it, and we see that it IS Lily, as Phoebe had predicted>
Monica: Hi, what are you doing here?
Lily: Me and Phoebe had a fight. Can I stay here for awhile?
Monica: Sure honey.
Rachel: Are you hungry?
Lily: Yes, do you have any macoroni and cheese?
Monica: Yeah, sure, it will be ready in a couple of minutes.
Lily: You can actually cook?
Monica: Of course, I'm a chef. Do you want me to teach you how to?
Lily: Sure.
Rachel: Okay, while you guys are doing this, I am going to go out for a walk.
Monica: Why? Oh...okay.
<Rachel leaves>
Lily: So, uh...what do you put this stuff in?
Monica: Well, first you have to read the instructions, to make sure you get the right amounts of what you need.
Then you have to put the ingredients together in te order it says on the label.
Lily: Oh, okay. I think I'll just let you handle this. Mind if I watch your TV?
Monica: Sure, go ahead.
<We cut to a shot of Rachel waiting out in front of Monica's building>
Rachel: Oh, where's Phoebe, I am getting bored here.
(She spots Phoebe coming up the street, and runs to talk with her)
Rachel: Phoebe!
Phoebe: Oh, hi Rachel. I didn't expect to have a welcoming committee, this isn't the first time I've come over.
Rachel: Look, Lily did come, but what exactly did you guys fight about.
Phoebe: I was just mad that she never told me about what happened with her and mom. I wouldn't have kept
her out.
Rachel: Well, I think she is still pretty mad at you.
Phoebe: I know, I don't blame her. I mean I totally forgot to think about how she was feeling. Oh, God, I feel
awful. Can I go up and talk to her?
Rachel: Sure. I am going to go get a cup of coffee, because Lily thinks I went for a walk, and I don't want her to
see both of us coming in together.
Phoebe: Okay, thanks Rachel.
<We cut to the Joey and Chandler's apartment, all of the guys are there>
Chandler: So what are you going to do about this?
Ross: I don't know. This all just happened so suddenly.
Joey: Hey, maybe, you could move out there with him.
Ross: I already thought about that. But then I wouldn't have you guys to talk to, and I would have to find a new
job and, that's just too much to handle.
Chandler: Well, what do Susan and Carol think about all of this?
Ross: They said I could always come out and visit him, and they said that they could send him out here every
summer.
Joey: That might work.
Chandler: It's not the same, but you'll get to be with him for three months. Isn't that a little bit more than you
already see him?
Ross: Yeah, I guess it is. I think I am going to let them move.
Joey: Hey, why are they moving out there in the first place?
Ross: I don't know. I think there's this lesbian lovers' support group out there or something.
Chandler: Ah...the little known, Lesbian Lovers Anonymous.
<We cut to the hallway outside of Monica and Rachel's apartment, Phoebe is there, and ready to knock on the
door, she knocks, and Monica answers>
Monica: Hi.
Phoebe: Hi, me and Lily had a fight earlier, I have been looking all over for her, is she here?
Monica: Yes, she is, come on in.
Phoebe: Hey Lily.
Lily: What do you want?
Phoebe: Look, I am so sorry about earlier. I wasn't thinking. I was worried about you. I don't care that mom
kicked you out. That doesn't make me love you any less.
Lily: Y-y-you love me?
Phoebe: Of course I do. We're sisters.
Lily. Wow, this is the first time I've ever felt that any one loves me.
Phoebe: Hug?
<Lily nods, and they hug each other>
Monica: Macoroni's ready! Anyone hungry?
Phoebe: I am.
Lily: Me too.
<Rachel opens the door>
Rachel: Hey guys. How's it going?
Lily: Good. Really good.
Monica: Rachel, sit down at the table. I made macaroni.
Rachel: Okay.
<They all sit down at the table. Monica hands out the plates with the food on them, and then they all start
eating>
Commercial Break
<We open at an airport, everyone is there, including Lily, Carol, Susan, and Ben>
Ross: I guess this is good-bye.
Carol: Don't worry. We'll try to call twice a week.
Susan: We are just as sad about moving as you are. We have to leave behind everything we love in the city.
Rachel: Well, I will miss you guys. Write to us.
Monica: And we'll be seeing Ben in the summer, so it won't be too bad.
Phoebe: Hey, Ben here's a Teddy bear for you. It's from me and Lily.
Lily: We hope you like it!
Ben: Thank you.
Chandler: Hey, Ben, when you come back this summer, me and Joey will teach you how to play foosball.
Joey: Yeah, and we will teach you one rule right know. Never let your Aunt Monica play with you.
Monica: Hey, it's not my fault that you guys suck at foosball.
Ross: Hey, watch the language. We have little ears here.
Joey: Sorry.
Voice over loudspeaker: Flight 165 is now boarding for Los Angles ay Gate 17, repeat, flight 165 is now
boarding at gate 17.
Carol: I guess we have to go now. Goodbye.
Susan: Good bye everyone.
<Susan and Carol give everyone hugs>
Ben: Byebye daddy.
Ross: Bye Ben.
All: Bye ! We'll miss you guys.
