SEASON 2

The Golden Child
Baby goes on a sugar-bender and bumps his head. The bump turns into a golden horn. What does it mean? Is it permanent? “I made a big poop!” He is so cute when he kisses Roy!

Family Challenge
There is a meteor watch and the Sinclair home has been designated as it’s area of impact. The meteor destroys their TV, and Earl takes the family onto a game show to win a new TV.

I Never Ate For My Father
Robbie starts experimenting with an alternate lifestyle…vegetarianism (It is a huge metaphor for coming out, drug use, and racial injustice)!

Charlene’s Tale
Charlene is feeling self-conscious because every girl in school has grown a tail…except her (metaphor for girls going through puberty and the feelings they experience).

Endangered Species
Earl and Fran’s 20th anniversary is only days away, and Earl buys Fran two animals called Grapdelites, a very endangered species. Robbie ends up bonding with them, and faces a dilemma.

Employee Of The Month
Earl is named Employee of the month at work after making a good suggestion. Earl is forced to have a celebratory dinner at his own house with the boss. What could go wrong? Just because the family has temporarily adopted a cave-person as a pet…

When Food Goes Bad
While being babysat, Baby opens the fridge and the food escapes. Notice how, at the restaurant, Fran’s appetizer has a napkin on him. After Fran gets up to use the phone, the napkin is gone.

Career Opportunities
Robbie visits the Job Wizard (voiced by Jason Alexander) and gets told he will be a tree-pusher, just like his father, which makes Robbie less than thrilled.

Unmarried…With Children
Fran learns that you can get divorced simply by not renewing your marriage license. They go to renew, and find they are unable to get the license renewed. Statutory rape is funny?

How To Pick Up Girls
Robbie developes a crush but has no idea how to ask her out. This is the episode when Robbie becomes friends with Spike, even though someone named Spike was mentioned in the episode ‘When Food Goes Bad.’ A mess-up or two people named Spike?

Switched At Birth
The family discovers that the nest Fran had her egg in belongs to someone else and Fran remembers that there was a day she could have accidentally switched eggs at Lamaze. The other father is voiced by Jason Alexander. The man who does Roy’s voice is the scientist’s voice.

Refrigerator Day
This is an annual holiday celebrated by all dinosaurs. Earl was counting on a bonus to buy gifts for his family, but this year there is no bonus. Notice that one of the guys at the store is the same dinosaur as in ‘Switched At Birth’ but he is not voiced by Jason Alexander. Earl tells Baby he is sorry for ruining his first Refrigerator Day. It can’t be Baby’s first. Baby was already born in the first episode, and this is the second season.

What “Sexual Harris” Meant
There is an opening at Earl’s job, and Fran forces him to take Monica (Fran’s friend) for an interview. Her hiring and firing causes some waves. Listen for Jason Alexander yet again. This is a spoof of the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill hearing.

Fran Live
Fran calls in on a TV show and gives the host a suggestion. The show’s producer hires Fran as the new host. Of course, Earl has a problem with it. I like the spoof of ‘Double Dare’ in the beginning. The spoof if ‘Amazing Discoveries’ is also funny. Listen for the inadvertent gay marriage line. The “not so fresh” line is the best.

Power Erupts
Robbie invents a pollution-free power source. This episode reflects what is going on right now with George Bush Jr. and the oil price issues. It is like the gameshow ‘Deal Or No Deal’ near the end.

The Clip Show
The usual intro in interrupted by a pseudo-documentary with a real person. This episode uses clips from previous shows to answer questions about what really happened to the dinosaurs. It is quite a funny episode, the highlights of the past two seasons boiled down into one episode.

A New Leaf
Robbie gets his dad, his sister, and his friend Spike hooked on “a plant that makes you happy.” It is a HUGE metaphor for drugs. Listen for a riff from the song “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” by Iron Butterfly.

The Last Temptation Of Ethel(Ethyl)
Ethyl dies for a short amount of time and experiences some of the afterlife.

Nuts To War (Part 1)
Pistachios become rare and this angers Earl. A W.A.R. erupts against the people that control the pistachios and Robbie gets drafted.

Nuts To War (Part 2)
Listen for Jason Alexander as the military representative giving the W.A.R. briefing. Robbie becomes the leader of the troops. Will he make it back alive?

And The Winner Is…
Earl and Fran go to get an official name for Baby when an elder dies. Earl’s boss runs for the position. He chooses Earl to go against him to be assured a victory.

Slave To Fashion
Charlene learns a valuable lesson about fashion and prestige. ‘Totally Hidden Predator.’ Listen for Tim Curry as the coat.

Leader Of The Pack
Robbie gets beat up by a gang and decides to join one himself, quickly becoming the leader. On a side note: this episode teaches kids that the only way to solve problems is with violence. Listen for Tim Curry as the pterodactyl.

WESAYSO Knows Best
WESAYSO has a bad public image and launches an ad campaign to try to improve their image. Earl’s boss forces Earl and his family to audition. The family is chosen, except for one member. The one member that was not chose is forced to move out as long as the ad campaign runs so WESAYSO does not look like a lying corporation.
