Previous Jobs I have had many part-time jobs during summer and some while going to school. My first one ever was working at my uncle's company, Ontario Label Graphics. The work force there was awesome. I was a General Tasker, which meant I would do whatever needed to be done. My responsibilities would range from forming boxes, sweeping, weighing labels, stacking labels, shrink-wrapping them, too. I got so many paper cuts on my hands. There is not such a painful feeling as getting a paper cut on a paper cut. That REALLY hurts. The pay was great, I missed leaving. Then there was the dreaded job at TOPS. Never again! I was working 40+ hours a week as part-time, plus was gonig to college for the first time in my life. The last straw was not giving me the day off for my birthday. The customers were all old people who complained abot the prices. I hated them. Then was a dishwasher at a local restaurant called Apple Kountry Kove. They had me doing jobs that they should of hired a cleaning staff for. I don't know many dishwashers who scrub the floors with bleach. The place eventually closed because she ran a lousy restaurant and couldn't pay her bills. Then I found my longest lasting job, a dishwasher at another local restuarant called Mariner's Landing. I started out as a dishwasher, but was moved up to busboy. The only reason I was promoted was because I was slow at washing dishes. Clearing the tables was much quicker. I LOVED all the waitresses I worked with. I came out to them with the help of Elisa. It felt great because they would come up to me and point out hot guys who were there. The week before I left, I trained J.D. as my replacement. Jenny, my boss, told me he was cute, and he was. Dark hair, dark eyes, dark skin. That's usually the opposite of what my boyfriends look like, but c'est la vie. He told me that he used Bowflex to work out, and he flexed his arm for me. He said that it was a shame that I was leaving, that comment made me wonder. While I was working at Mariner's, I got a second job at another local restaurant called Creekside Country Cafe. I was a dishwasher/mopboy. That job was okay, but I HATED working Sundays because it got so busy! During the week was alright. Then had a job on campus as Grounds Crew. I pick up garbage, paint the football fields in Fall and Spring, and shovel snow in Winter. It's a very easy job, only work 3 hours a day, Monday through Friday. We get paid every two weeks, and since it is a state job, the pay is good. Those paychecks really add up! Summer of 2003 found me back at Mariner's Landing for a few weeks before I returned to Buffalo State for my senior year. When senior year occured, I went back to Grounds Crew. After graduation, I moved back home. I went back to Mariner's Landing until November 2004 when I moved to Endicott and in with Derek. I worked at a GIANT Markets on Binhamton. That job sucked! I took frozen foods out of a zero degree freezer and put them on shelves. After a month, Derek and I broke up and I moved back home, and back to Mariner's Landing after New Years Day 2005. In May, I worked for TruGreen/ChemLawn Lawn Services for three days selling our products and services door-to-door. I did not enjoy door-to-door sales. |
