and Al Bundy have been together for more than two decades. They have
a loser for a son and a whore for a daughter. Al is constantly being
heckled because of his occupation as a shoe salesman and his lack of
money. Al is drained everyday from long hours of work, while his wife
sits around the house doing nothing except spending all his income on
worthless items. How they survive their relationship through all the
bad times and then through even the worse times is the basis for "Married...With
Children." The sitcom represents a distinct departure from the sweet
television families viewers have known since the days of "Father Knows
Best." With rude jokes about sex, being poor and stupid, and masturbation
"Married... With Children" is a misogynistic view that paints a painfully
funny picture of a not-so-typical middle-class American family.
