Milagro
-I'm not sure who but someone really dropped the ball on this one. The whole way through I found myself wondering "When will this end?"
-But no matter how weak the plot was there was some excellent acting done. Gillian Anderson beutifully played a tortured Scully trying to figure herself out. David Duchovny was an excellent ignorant of the whole situation but still defensive of Scully' Mulder. Even Padgett was excellently done even though the actor didn't have much to work with.
-Our little friend Padgett. The typical tortured writer, no furniture the cigarette addiction and the view of the brick wall. There has got to be a mentaly sound writer out there somewhere.
-Why exactly are all the special powers given out to bad people? If Padgett can imagine 'the stranger' so well he comes alive what about other writers? What about the picture book guy who writes about the talking bunny giving hugs? The world would be a much better place if people got more bunny hugs
-Mulder is so lucky he found the body in the cemetary truck. If he didn't how else was he going to explain tackiling a guy and shoving a gun in his face?
-Scully said she felt uncomfortable in Padgett's apartment as she prepared to sit on his bed. Why didn't she leave? Our teenage friend in the car left her boyfriend in the car when she felt uncomfortable. And she had to walk home in the dark, all Scully had to do was go next door to Mulder's.
-I did enjoy the way Mulder played hero by kicking in the door(an episode wouldn't be complete without at least one door down)
and waving his gun around. The look would have been perfect if only he had worn the shades he has on later.
-I have to say that the ending almost made the rest of the episode worth it. The start of the good part is easy to pinpoint. Mulder says "Anything?" while spinning the camera, than the sound of Padgett's door closing. Scully's fight with the stranger is an edge of your seat moment. Mulder's fight with Padgett is nerve racking, your not sure what Padgett's trying to do but you know if Mulder would just let him do it Scully would live. Than Mulder finds Scully quite dead looking on the floor. And her reaction to Mulder, the man she's trusted with her life countless times, surprise than relief. She lets Mulder hold her as she recovers from her near death experience, an 'Irresistable' moment I don't mind reliving.
