TOW The Lesbian Wedding
-A good episode! An excellent job with the lesbian wedding. Gave Monica the chance to get some money and Ross the chance to ‘grow’.
-I enjoyed the way everyone believed Phoebe when she said the spirit was in her. Coming from anyone else it would have been nuts but from Phoebe it was just normal.
-I also enjoyed the way no one seemed overly frightened by the thought of Phoebe being inhabited. It seemed to be more of an inconvenience for them than anything.
-The issue of Rachel’s mom (who was beautifully played by Marlo Thomas) left Rachel in an emotional trap. On one hand she had the emotions caused by her parents getting a divorce. On the other hand she had to sympathize with her Mother because her Mother was trying to do what she had done years ago. The writers have set themselves up with an excellent way to build Rachel as a character, lets hope they don’t just forget the whole thing.
-When Monica kissed Ross on the cheek I’m pretty sure she didn’t make connection.
-When Phoebe was talking to Mr. Adleman was anyone else distracted by the wobbly cake stand?
-‘Pigs in Ross’ sounds good.
-If I were that navy guy and Joey came up and told me he was the one who had cooked what I was having, I would stop eating.
-So ugly naked guy plays a cello, he’s got a lot a culture for a guy who doesn’t wear clothes.
-Clothes Call: a couple this episode. First the ugly red dress Rachel’s Mom wore; it looked like a fancy bath robe. Second the hats Carol and Susan wore to the wedding.
-Best Line: “The world’s my lesbian wedding.”
