[Day, interior. Throughout: close-ups of people and medals during a Scout troop awards ceremony. The first scout is an adult. The others are big boys.]

MAN #1
Attention.

NARRATOR
This is Troop 555.

MAN #1
At ease.

MAN #2
Michael Halloran.

NARRATOR
Michael Halloran knows first aid as well as many paramedics. Michael is also what is sometimes called retarded.

MAN #2
Miguel.

NARRATOR
Miguel Ledvig could guide you home if you were lost in the Sierras. Miguel is also legally blind.

BOY
Thank you.

MAN #2
John.

NARRATOR
John Lasso has a defect that left his heart outside his chest cavity. He's also an eagle scout. Most of the scouts in Troop 555 are disabled in one way or another. But thanks to your contributions to the United Way, they seldom feel that way. Or act it. Troop 555 never asks for favors, but they do appreciate them.

[Medium shot: the troop assembled on risers as for a photo. United Way logo in white is superimposed over the lower left side of the picture (text under it says, "of the Bay Area"). They all to say all together:]

TROOP 555
We don't know you, but we love you.
