| I graduated from HHS and went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1948. In 1950 I married Jack Hubbard, class of 1947. Jack graduated from the Missouri School of Mines as a Civil Engineer and went to work for Mobil Oil Company. We lived in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Connecticut. Jack died of cancer in Dallas, Texas in 1980. We raised two sons.
Our oldest son, Jerry, is a neurosurgeon in Salem, Oregon. Our other son, Jeffrey, is a dentist in nearby Duncanville, Texas.
After Jack's death, I started college with a nursing degree as my goal. I grieved for two years and then decided to get back into life and took square dancing lessons with a singles club. Jack and I had square danced for years. Marvin Wammack was also taking lessons and it was love at first fright! We dated for two years and were married in 1984. "Red " (Marvin) is a retired dairy farmer. In 1971 he had sold off the herd and built a golf course on his land in Red Oak, Texas. He retired from the golf course in 1979 and his son took over the management of the business.
We are grandparents to five Hubbards and three Wammacks.
We enjoy camping, dancing, birding, gardening, fishing and traveling. We live on I-35 at exit 408 some 30 miles south of Dallas on the Red Oak Valley Golf Course. Stop in any time or wave as you pass through.
