After graduating from HHS, I attended HLG and MU and graduated in June 1952.
I served in the military and upon being discharged went to work in retail. I worked for others until 1975 when I opened Fun Fashion's (Women's Junior Fashions) in a major mall in Baton Rouge. The next year I opened a second store in another major mall in Baton Rouge.
With good timing I retired at the end of 1986. Fun Fashion's was a good business and we had fun every day. We sold 100,000 sweaters of one style in one year. After retiring from the retail business I counseled at Service Corp of Retired Executives and helped others with their Business Problems. The Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge took a lot of my time. For a number of years I looked after my parents. My dad lived to be 88 and my mother a wonderful 94.
In 2001 I married Jeannie Simmons from Hannibal (Sarah Jane Sauer's little sister).
We are now enjoying life together in Baton Rouge after a great Honeymoon to New York City. We also found time for an outstanding Canadian train trip in 2002 and another trip to the Grand Canyon and the Grand Tetons this year.
