Rosemary Roush-Schneider

I graduated from Missouri University in 1952 and married Bill Schneider in 1954. We had our babies 2 years apart, so we had some BUSY years. We had two girls and two boys, Michele, Laura, John and Bret. All are married now and have children of their own except for Johnny, who was a passenger in a car accident in Springfield, MO during his third year of college. The driver and one other passenger weren't hurt, but Johnny was killed. What a loss for our family. He was smart, handsome and a great athlete. This happened in February 1979 and my grief is neverending. Children shouldn't die before their parents. I grieve for any of you who have gone through this experience.
As a grandmother I need to say something about my 7 grandchildren. Lindsey is smart, beautiful and turns 21 this June, 2001. She is in MU summer school starting her senior year. Her little brother Tav, will be in sixth grade in the fall. Some of his teachers have told me he is one of the brightest students to go through their school. His vocabulary astounds me whenever we are spending time together talking about things going on in the world today. These two belong to our oldest daughter, Michele who is married to Jim Brown. Jim and his brother own Brown's Furniture in Palmyra, MO.
Bret lives in Edmond, OK and his wife's name is Beth. They have a boy Eric, who wants to be a professional golfer, and a girl, Haley who has the potential to become an Olympic quality gymnast. Our youngest, Laura and her family, live in a suburb of Cleveland. She has a 10 year old, Katie who has to be tough because of her twin brothers named John and Perry (not quite 3). Laura's husband, Carl is Chief Financial Officer at Rossborough Steel in Cleveland. He's a golfer also. All are well and healthy.
I selected Camelot as background music because, to me, Camelot is a magical, mystical, beautiful place where everyone seemed special and our wants and needs were simple and few. We had our own little Camelot in our school years and didn't even realize it until much later. I have had a wonderful life and am enjoying it to the fullest while I can. I taught English in Hannibal for 20 years and loved every minute of it. You can tell I was a teacher because I've talked too much already. Wish I could see more of you at the lunches on the first Monday of each month. Bill (my husband) still enjoys flying airplanes and playing golf, so he is easing into retirement....still drops in at his office, but allows time for these important pastimes.
