My Article on Track 7

OK, Now I know you all are wondering why I am writing a whole page dedicated to Track 7, and also just what "Track 7" is.Well, here's here's my story: Last summer (the summer of 2005), my friend David from my old school copied a CD for me that came from Matt B, who got from Ori (I checked, the names are in the right order), but that's about as far as I was able to trace it. Anyway, when I got it, David (who I'm really close friends with), didn't know much about any of the tracks (execpt the Weird Al ones; he's a fan too, to say the least). When we got to track 7, however, he called it "The Chipmunk Song". Now, this isn't my favorite song, (though I can't say the same about Nikki and Ali, who I showed my whole CD to on a really long trip from Virginia, and really liked the whole album), but given my obsessive compulsvise nature, I still had to find out who wrote it, the lyrics, where it came from, etc. So I had it on my website for a while until it stopped working and I had to delete it. Now, what's interesting about track 7, as opposed to the other 29 tracks on my CD is the following: I had spent a lot of my free time trying to find as much information on the music as possible on my computer. For every track execpt seven, I had been able to find some information on them (lyrics, artist, origin, original song [if any], etc.), but this one was different. No matter how much time I spent looking or asking, I could not find any scrap, fragment or piece of information on this song (although I certainly found some interesting stuff, like what a chipmunk (a real one) sounds like when its high on sugar. Not one single thing- no artist/band, no original song, no lyrics, no origin- no clue as to where it may have came from or what is. So I ended up listening to listen to it over and over again, constantly analyzing and writing down the lyrics and idea while the rest of my Virginia roommates played Magic or listened to the Colbert Report while playing Kemps (I forced them to, but they had they're revenge, forcing me to watch "South Park")anyway,- no results (Though I did figure out some of the lyrics, which still didn't show up on Google, but at least I corrected myself from my original interpretation). Nothing at all, no one had even heard about it. Now- amongst my friends and I, its known as "The Chipmunk Song" (and it always will be, regardless of 'real' title or the fact that it was sung by hamsters, not chipmunks, and the fact that that's probably not it's real name I looked up "The Chipmunk Song" on Google, and all I got was a weird Christmas song, written by Alvin and the Chipmunks, who I have never seen and barely heard of.), but officially all it can be called is "Track 7". But, no matter how hard you look or where, I guarentee that you will find nothing, though you're welcome to try. Therefore, I am making history by being the first to recognise this song on the internet. So that's my history and reason of significance for this song (Not that my other songs aren't significant, most of them are pretty good actually) Also, chipmunks are so much cooler than hamsters, not counting my two ex-hamsters. Even if the chipmunks did invade my basement walls and steal our candy (true story). Actually I take that back, hamsters and chipmunks are both cool. So are penguins.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR:

OK, Now's the time I ask you to help me with this one. I think I will star a chatbox or somethng on this page specifically for Track 7. If you know any information, please immidiately post it on the chatbox. An origin, lyrics, on original, anything, please put it up on the board. Hopefully, with your help, we can unravel the mystery of track 7. Thank you.

NEW!!! I FOUND IT! Okay, here's what I found. A webpage written in Swedish that mentioned the chipmunk song, but I could not understand it, so it was useless. But, it had three sentences in english, all of which were from the chipmunk song (Click here to see it) I don't know what it is, could be just a scary coincedence. I'll put up the online translation, just because it's funny, and it makes no sense. But I found it. It's the 9th track on "Hamsterdance: The Album" and its called "Spin the Wheel" (which is what I thought it was called in the first place". To hear a sample, go to http://www.altavista.com/, click on MP3/Audio, and type in Hamster "Spin The Wheel". I still don't understand why I can't find the lyrics or pretty much any mention of it on all of the search engines I tried. I still would like to find something like that, so keep looking. And, to dispell any roomers or preconcieved ideas (some of which were mine), "The Chipmunk Song" (which is what I will always call it), has absolutely nothing to do with "Alvin and the Chipmunks", or " The Chipettes" (which are the same show). All that work for nothing, I even memorized their names..., but obviously its from the same source as the famous and imfamous "Hamster Dance", Which was sung by a band called "Hampton and the Hamsters". So sayeth your ultimate chipmunk authority! And for the record, ultimate hamster authority too. And even though we have and will discover this mystery, I will always leave this page up, and won't change "WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR". Just call it obsolete, and regard it as "a historically important document" (it is history because as far I can tell, I'm the first to post the lyrics to the song on the internet [in english, at least]). But anyway, just ignore "WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR" as anything but history. Interpret for yourself what "the wheel" is, and what this song is supposed to mean. Anyway, click this link to hear a sample of the song, or just search for some place where you can hear samples of "Hamsterdance: The Album". The five songs I have from this album are the following, in order: "Spin the Wheel", "The Hamsterdance Song", "Dance to the Music", "Thank God I'm a Country Boy", and "The Birdie Song" (AKA "The Chicken Dance").

Anyway, if you want to get the original album yourself, you can get it at a music store or on the internet. All of the songs on the album are:

1. The Hampsterdance Song
2. Hampster Party
3. Even Hampsters Fall In Love
4. Thank God I'm A Country Boy
5. A Hampster's Life
6. Dance To The Music
7. Dreaming
8. Birdie Song
9. Spin The Wheel
10. Hampsters Get The Blues
11. Round and Round
12. Everybody Feel The Groove
13. Jingle Bells (Bonus Track)
