This story is an alternate to that of the Cable-Askani story.
This story is mine. If you take it, I will be forced to sue. Charlotte Dayspring is mine. Everyting else is Marvel's.

Mistakes.

by Dimera Marka

---- 2083, A.D.

Her feet made no sound on the floor as she approched him. Charlotte pulled the sword from its place on her hip, and with a swift swipe, the gaurd was down, limp on the ground. His blood ran in a puddle on the floor. She continued to creep quietly through the compouund's halls. Her powers of flight sereving her well, she flew over the infered sensors and silently past the gaurds. She turned a corner and saw more of the them. They charged their guns and fired. The laser blast bounced off of the energy sheild and back to the gaurds. Now they were down, too, dead. She flew over the bodies and that is when she saw what she had come for, the prisoners. All five hundred and twenty-one of them.

Her only mission was to get the people out and back to the CR tunnels, or to Roma's citadel, where they could be safe.

All the while, Lidian and Hsing-Hsing, two of the Mystics, watched her from limbo. Not bothering to stop her direct insubordination of the Mystics Society, they helped seal her fate.

-----

"You had no right to do that, Charlotte! Do you have any idea what you have done?" Roma screamed at her. All of the other Mystics murrmured.

"I full filled my mother's dying wish, which is more than I can say for you!" Charlotte growled.

Roma narrowed her eyes at the young girl. "You are a dormat member. You were not to..."

"I am an honorary member, Roma. I am not subject to your laws."

"Yes, you are a honorary member, however you are to an extent subject to my laws, enough for me to do this: I am striping you of your rank and powers."

"What? Roma, no, please!" pleaded Charlotte.

"No, the decision has been ma..."

"You can't, you can't my mother, she's..."

"Dead, Charlotte. She is long dead. It was not her wish for you to be a Mystic, just to be taken care of. I have done that, I took you into my home and raised you as best I could raise a fourteen year old like yourself, indepentant, strong willed. You can very obviously take care of yourself now."

Charlotte's eyes teared up. "But, Roma, what'll I do? Where'll I go?" she sobbed. She wasnt that capable of taking care of herself.

"You'll go and take care of those prisioners you freed, they need you. You have a responsability to them, Miss Summers."

"But the tunnels are no place for people to live!"

"You should have thought of that, Charlotte, before you went galavanting off on that crazy rescue mission. You'll have to keep those people there. I most certianly won't have them here. You aren't to ever try and return here." Roma raised her hand and there was a flash of light.

Charlotte's body was drained of the powers Roma had given her. Flight, time travel, access to the Astral Plane, it was all gone. She felt unbearably empty.

"Loa, will you return Charlotte to her home?"

"Yes'm," said Loa Chirstensen. Loa stepped up to Charlotte and in a flash of light were gone.

---- 5 years later, 2088 A.D.

"Look, Charlotte, look at the cell's formation!" Dr. Polich pointed to the computer's screen.

"That looks like... I have no clue. What is it, Polich?" asked Charlotte.

Dr. Polich leaned back in his chair and put his hands behind his head. "I have no clue, that is just it. Look at it."

Charlotte twisted the pen in her fingers. "And that is why you drug me all the way down here, from a counil meeting?"

"Yes."

"Thank you, I couldn't stand another minute in that place," Charlotte said, very relived. "I owe you big time."

"You don't owe me anything. I owe you my life, your the one who got me out of the consentration camp," Dr. Polich said.

"I am so sick of..." Charlotte began to say, but was cut off by a flash of light. Roma stood before her.

"Roma, what in the hell do you want?" Charlotte growled and stood up.

"I have a job for..."

Charlotte couln't help but to laugh. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, what happen to the never again a member, on your own, stay away form here, Roma I know so well? Is that really you?" Charlotte cocked her head to the side and narrowed her eyes at the woman, studying her.

"Very intellegent, Miss Summers. I have..."

"It's Mrs. Dayspring now, Roma. I was married, a long time ago. If you'd read that letter I sent to the Mystic's Council, you'd know that," Charlotte said angrily.

Roma felt like an idiot. "Fine then, Mrs. Dayspring, I have a job for you."

"Once agian, Roma, we come back to the fact that I am not a Mystic. You threw me out, five years ago," Charlotte said. "So why the sudden change of heart?"

"I t is a matter involving your family," said Roma. "Your unlce, in fact, Nathan Christopher."

"Nathan? What is it?" Charlotte asked.

"He has been infected with tecno-virus poisoning. I need you to go and retirive him, so that he may be cured. You do, have a cure for tecno-virus poisioning, don't you?"

"Yes, of course I do, I was the one who found the cure. But why send me? Why not Hsing, or Ada, or Naomi, one of your good followers?" asked Charlotte angrily.

"Because, I think it is appropriate for you to do this, you are family to him, after all," said Roma.

Charlotte narowed her eyes at her, What in the hell was Roma up to? What was her motivation?

"Will you do it, Charlotte? I am willing to give you a position in the Mystics, again, if you would do this."

"I'd do it, even if I didn't get anything. What will become of Nathan after he is brought here?"

"I was hoping you would heal the baby, and then..."

"Baby?! Nate is just a baby?" Charlotte said shocked.

"Yes," Roma said. "Anyway, then you could raise him, take care of him as your own."

"I-- yes, there is nothing to decide. Of course I will," said Charlotte.

Roma smiled, "Good, I will restore your powers now." Roma raised her hands and the room was filled with a white light. Dr. Polich, who was still in the room, shielded his eyes.

Charlotte felt the power flow through her. It was amazing, she was back to her old self, before her dismissal. The transfer was over soon and Charlotte looked at Roma.

"Thank you, Roma."

"Of course, Charlotte. We need to go to the Citedel. I want you to take Ada with you and go to the past, she'll take you there," Roma said.

"You said nothig about..." Carlotte began. Roma looked critically at her. "Arrghhh, fine. I'll take Ada."

"Good, we should go to the citadel, then, the other Mystics are waiting for us," said Roma.

Charlotte nodde and turned to Dr. Polich, "Jamie?"

"Y-yeah," he stuttered.

"Will you tell David why I'm gone?"

"Uh, yeah, you went with the Omniversal Gaurdian Roma," he said, stunned.

"Yeah," Charlotte smiled at him. "I'll be back." She patted his cheek.

There was a flash of light and they were gone. Dr. Polich shook his head and headed out of the lab and into the tunnels to find David Dayspring and to try and tell him where his wife had diappered to.

---- Present Day

"You can't do anything for him?"

"I'm sorry, Scott, I have no idea how to cure him. I haven't ever seen anything like this," said Henry McCoy.

"There has to be somthing you can do!" yelled Scott, he was getting out of control.

"There is nothing I can do, Moria either."

"So your just gong to let my son die!"

"Scott, please," said Charles.

"No! You can't just let my son die!"

"We are doin' everything we can, boy-o, were tryin'," said Moria and put her hand on his shoulder.

There was a flash of light. Standing before the X-Men were two young women. Each wore identiacal dark violet robes, adorned with symbols, including the X symbol of the X-Men. One of the women was hispanic, and the other caucasian. The caucasin woman smiled.

"Who in the world are you!" gasped Storm.

"My name is Ada Muse," said the hispanic woman. "And this is Charlotte. We are from the Mystics, a future mutant organization..."

"We are here to offer our assistance in a very urgent matter, the life of Nathan Chistopher," interupted Charlotte.

"You-- Can you help him!?" Scott cried.

"Yes, if you would allow us to insepct the child," said Ada.

"Yes, yes..." said Scott.

"No, we don't now if we can trust them," Havok said.

"We can be trusted, and you have no choice. We know how to help the boy," said Ada.

Charles looked over the two women. "You could work for Sinister."

"Sinister isn't alive in our time," said Charlotte.

"Your time?" questioned Polaris.

"We come from your future, and in our time, young Nathan would be a savior of our people," said Charlotte.

"What are you gettin' at, lass," questioned Moria.

"We want to take Nathan to our time, where he can survive, and use his powers to help our people," said Charlotte.

"You want to take my son!" yelled Scott.

"Please, Mr. Summers, it would be for the best. In this time he stands no chance of living in this time, and even if he did, then he would have to run his whole life from Sinister and Apocalypse," said Ada.

"He would be safe at CR, my home. It is a safe house for mutants I run, no human knows of it, he would be safe," said Charlotte.

"I--I..." Scott stuttered.

"If it would change you decision, I am your..."

"Charlotte, no, the time line would be warped," Ada began.

"...grandaughter, from another time line." Charlotte completed her sentence. Ada groaned and smacked her forehead in frustration.

"My grandaughter?!"

"Yes, I am Rachel's..."

"No, no, NO! You'll say nothing more, Charlotte Dayspring! Do you have any idea what you could do to the timeline!?" Ada siezed her shoulders. "Say another word and you'll be out of the Mystics so fast your head'll spin!" Ada turned back to the X-Men. "Now that you know, what do you say, Mr. Summers?"

"I--I have no choice, but can't you heal and leave him here?"

"He is needed in our time, Mr.Summers, much more than he is in this time," said Ada. "He will be a savior to my people. I swear to you as a Mystic and a former X-Man, he will be safe with us."

"I--" Scott put his head in his hands. Storm put her hafnd on his shoulder. "Yes," he mummbled through his hands.

"Scott are you *crazy*?! How..." Havok began to protest. Polaris put her hand up on his mouth lightly to silence him.

"You have made a wise choice, Grandfather," said Charlotte. Ada let out a small groan at this comment.

"I can show ya t' 'im now," said Moria.

Ada and Charlotte nodded and fallowed Moria into the med-lab of the masion.

Nathan was in a tiny incubator. His tiny chest barly moved. There were tubes comming out every which way of his tiny body. One of his arms and one of his leg was turning silver, like a machine, covered in robotics. Charlotte frowned at the tiny body and a tear formed in her eye.

"How long has he been this way?" asked Ada.

"About six days." replied Hank.

"Days! It is worse than Roma said, I don't know if I can heal him with such an advanced case. How far has is spread?"

"Its in his arm and leg, as y' see," said Moria, who motioned to the limbs.

I could make a clone, thought Charlotte. She opened the icubator and began to gently tear the tubes from his body.

"Y' canna do that, lass, he won't survive!"

"I am a Mystic, I can use my own life force to help sustain him," said Ada, who picked his tiny body up. "Moria, do you have a blanket?"

"Yes," she grabbed a small blanket up and helped Ada wrap the tiny boy in it. Ada shifted him in her arms and turnd to Scott, who had just walked in.

"I swear to you, he will be safe. No harm will come of the boy," said Ada. Charlotte and Ada glanced at each other and there was a flash of light. They were gone, and Scott broke down.

---- The future 2088

Charlotte gazed at the tiny boy in the incubator. She turned to the heart and vital stats monitor and recored everyting on the chart.

A voice frm behind starteled hr into nearly dropping her clipboard. "What did you say," she turned to see her husband, David.

"I said, is he going to live?" asked the dark haired mutant. He wraped his arms around his wife.

"I should hope so, Dave, but if not, I have some insurance," she pulled away and lead him into the other room. An even tinyer baby, wrinkled and blue, was in a small fluid-filled chamber.

"What on earth-?"

"A clone. He'll be completely free of the virus, and if Nathan dies, then he'll take his place," said Charlotte poudly.

If she only knew the full error of her mistake...
