Could it possibly get any hotter in this god-forsaken school?? |
This was the question on everyone's minds for the duration of our course. It was in the 90s most days (ok, let me see...that's in the mid-30s, Celsius style) and we had nary a fan to cool our sweaty brows. Except yours truly, who was saved by her Red Fan, thank god! The heat definitely took its toll on our bodies and minds, so please keep that in mind when viewing these pictures. After all, who can look their best when they *wake up* sweating, and that's the coolest they are all day? |

Ben--one of my fellow Americans (and another Midwesterner at that!) |
The always-lovely Cathy. |
Campbell (our resident Scot), looking rather peeved that I'm bothering him during planning time! |
Erlend, enjoying a much needed Gauloise |
Marika, the lovely Slovakian girl who kicked all our asses in TP. |
Mark, (the Englishman) who dared make fun of me for being from Iowa, yet who actually admits to living in a *village*. |
Sara and Dagmar, sharing some early morning conversation--and probably some fruit, as well! |
Yes, that's right. Elvis was really Scottish. |
My TP (Teaching Practice) Group, from L to R: Shannon, Rob, Marika, Mark, Erlend, and Campbell |
The front entrance area of Akcent International House |
A typical day in our sweltering classroom |
The lovely picnic area where all would gather to chat, smoke, plan lessons, and munch on vending machine sandwiches. |
The last day of teaching--and the most fun! |
One of our teachers, Betty, looking very eager to go home! |
The head of our course, Shaun Wilden, requested that I not take his photo, so I do not have one to share here. HOWEVER He did not request that I not look him up on the internet to find his picture elsewhere! AND SO If you would like to see a picture of Shaun, looking rather like a wanted felon, then please click HERE! (To Shaun--many apologies, but that's what happens when you're such a TEFL celebrity!) |
