The history of Twin Acres Collies

Twin Acres Collies is located in the rolling hills of northern Illinois.

Our interest in Collies began in the 1980s, when we first began exhibiting and breeding these noble dogs.

Our foundation bitch was Twin Acres Gilded Lily. Although she was not shown herself, she went on to produce many show winning Collies for Twin Acres, and is behind everything we have today.

It has been a long road to get to where we are today, but it has been one of many rich rewards. Our first homebred champion was CH Twin Acres Deliverance, Register of Merit*, who lived to 13 1/2 years and produced 25 Champions.

Ch Twin Acres Concert Master ROM BOV CCof A 1996. Concert Master has produced 22 champions --he is one of the few collies in history to earn a Register of Merit -was a national winner and also became a Top 10 CCofA winner.

Ch Twin Acres Dark and Dashing ROM. Dark and Dashing was a Top 10 CCofA winner. He was Best Stud Dog CCofA 1999 and was the sire of 32 Champions.

We have several Register of Merit (ROM) dogs with one more very close, and in 2000 we had a CCA Award of Merit winner.

Aside from the pride we feel when one of our dogs excels in the show ring, we also love them as members of the family.

Sharon and Frank Edler

*Register of Merit (ROM) - indicates a dog has produced 20 champions or a bitch has produced 7 champions.
