Flight of Green Rarranth and Brown Telketh

It grew late. Adlan was tired from a long day of doing drills. She was a searchrider, and still doing weyrling drills! Her Rarranth wasn't really a weyrling anymore, she was a grown dragon! But she and her sister still had the training, if only for a few more days.
"Well that was a fun day." said Rian from her spot in the mirror when Adlan entered the weyr. How could her twin have all that energy? I'm sure she enjoyed it. She thought to herself. She had all those boys to look at all day. It'll be interesting when her Sharranth rises.
Adlan herself had to wonder when her own green would rise. Rarranth had been proddy for the past few days, and Adlan knew all to well what that meant. Now the green had stumbled into her weyr had fallen asleep, proddy, but as tired as Adlan felt.
"That searchrider from Dragon Fang Weyr is handsome, isn't he Adlan?" Rian said, tossing her hair. Adlan sighed and answered "Yes Rian." without really thinking about it. It was still daylight, but Adlan wanted to sleep now as her dragon was doing.
I am hungry. So much for Rarranth being asleep. The green rose irritably, squawking at Sharranth audibly.
Get out of my way, I'm going to the feeding grounds. Come, rider mine! Oh yes, Rarranth was proddy. But it couldn't be time now! Adlan was just too tired. Still she stood, following her green down to the feeding grounds where, sure enough, the blues and browns were there blooding their kills.
Out of my way you puny males! Rarranth squeeched, scattering them, and a few herdbeasts, as she flutered to the grounds. She poised herself and pounced on a fowl, readying to eat it. Adlan knew what she must do.
No, no! What do you think you are doing? You are not to eat, only to blood. The green looked up at her rider, shrieked defiance and turned to eat, but Adlan was firm. You will blood it only! Rarranth relented and drank deep of that fowl, then another and a herdbeast before springing into the sky, the males after her.
Rarranth taunted them, outmanueverinig even the agile blues. This was fun! This was beyond fun! One blue dropped out of the race, and Rarranth roared her triumph. She wheeled and dove, wingfree and elated. You clumsy males! Learn how to fly!

Adlan sat, rooted to the spot, forgetting her weariness as she watched her dragon, felt her dragon's elation and carelessness as she flew ahead of the bulky blues and browns. She watched her dragon fly high, dive low, double back, taunt the males until two more dropped out. She also watched as one of the remaining browns did not fly after her as the others did, but dive down lower. As Rarranth folded her wings into a dive, the brown, brown Telketh, was there to catch the green, and twine his neck and tail around her. As Adlan, bone weary, fell backwards, M'tel, rider of Brown Telketh, was there to catch her.
