Family/Life
Arahmaria was born at Cold Rocks
Hold, a smaller hold in the mountains outside of the Twin Weyr. She lived
under the care of her mother for a short time, but it was her older half-sister
Jalani who took care of her until she was seven, and Jalani was searched
for Firestone Weyr. The Searchrider seemed to think she could become a
candidate too, when she was older, so she came with Jalani to Firestone
Weyr. Unfortunately, at the Weyr, an accident caused Arah to become
slightly crippled. She herself doesn't see the injury, which causes her
to walk with a limp in her left leg, as very handicapping, but her caretakers
do.
Personality
Arah is adventurious and bold.
It was partailly what got her and Jalani to Firestone Weyr to begin with.
She is always full of energy and excitement, and is determined not to let
her injury hinder her. She always wants to have fun, and can find fun in
the most boring things. She can be foolishly brave, and foolishly childish,
but her caretakers are conviced she will always be a child at heart. She
can be very clever sometimes too, designing ingenious plans for adventure
and discovery without getting caught. Her one plan, above any other, is
to become a dragonrider no matter what Jalani says. She knows she
can do it.
Looks
Arah is medium height, with
long brown hair that she wears in small, beaded braids because Jalani would
not let her cut it off. She has a narrow, boyish face, and large brown
eyes. For a time she went through a stage where she wore boys clothes,
but when she turned thirteen and considered not such a child anymore, it
was considered impropper, and she was forced to wear a dress again.
