"Why look my lovely Ineth, your looking spotless and as handsome as me!" K'tay said, laughing as he and his blue returned from the weyrbown and his dragon's bath.
    The water there felt good, Perhaps you should bathe too.  Ineth said, ignoring his rider's egotistical statement.
    "No thanks lovely, I've allready taken one, and I must get to work. I have to record information about the candidate's we've found for the Weyrwoman, and for Yasina so she can find them homes in the lower caverns." K'tay moved across the spacious weyr, pausing only to look at his reflection in one of the many mirrors that lined the walls. He flattened his hair, arranged it to look just right.
    There's no one else here to see you.  Ineth pointed out.
    "I know, but you never know who might decide to pay a visit. Ineth did a draconic aquivilant to rolling his eyes as K'tay made a face at the handsome figure staring back at him. Finally K'tay drew his eyes away from his reflection and sat at a desk to work.
    Half of the records had been filled out by Katri, the other Searchrider. K'tay sneered. Katri was the only  female in the weyr who did not gawk at him or find him attractive at all, and everyone agreed that she was a better Searchrider. Just because they chose her to be Searcrider...K'tay remembered that day, one evening after Weyrling training Katri had spoken to the Weyrlingmaster about leaving the Weyr, and the next day she had gone out on Search! Well, Ineth had a certain Search ability too, and K'tay got him to prove this, and he became Searhrider as well. K'tay felt this was his due. He had been a young holdbred boy, counsin to the Lord Holder when the riders from Dragon Fang all but swept him away from his home amd brought him there. He hadn't realy wanted to leave then, though after he had impressed he was glad he did, and he felt it was his due to be able to do something at the Weyr he wanted, in between fighting thread and of coarse, fixiing his appearance.
    You got the job you wanted, but you must do the work for it too.  Ineth reminded his rider, taking K'tay away from his thoughts, His dragon was right of coarse, and K'tay set to work, determined to get these done and done well twice as efficiently and as fast as the other Searchrider had.
