[Hatchling] [Weyrling] [Adult]
Klira sat up on her ledge of the weyr looking as the dragons found there
way back to there own haven. The sun was going beneath the land and
it was growing darker by the candlemark. This is the happiest she had ever
been at in the days of her time, and she would often sit quietly and take
it all in. She was reunited with her sister and now had a chance to make
up things with her. She felt like she had matured so much over this short
time at Dragon Fang, and she was once told that you have matured if you
no how imature you have been, and she deeply believed in this. Klira climbed
down to the sands, but dared not go in them. She sat and watched as her
sister sing to herself as she petted her dragon. A smile grew on
her face, just seeing her sister so happy made herself glow inside. She
had never seen her sister that happy, she has changed so much her at the
Weyr, she had so much more cofidence that her foster mother wouldn't alow.
Just then something caught Klira's eyes, and then Katri's dragon jerked
to where the motion was coming.
"The egg's there hatching!!" Klira thought to herself.
Katri had hopped to her feet and ran out of the sands to find the Weyrleaders.
Klira ran back to her weyr and dressed quickly in the white robe that was
given to her for impression she could already hear the dragons humming
and she knew that she better hurry. When she got back to the sands, she
notticed that half of the other candidates were already there. All of them
looked nervous and scared and they gathered around the eggs with there
heads held low, but for some reason Klira didn't feel that afraid and she
kept her head up. She lined herself up with a group of girl candidates
and looked at the eggs.
The first egg hatched and revealed a blue who went to a male
candidate and impression accured. It was amasing how this happend, but
Klira found herself worried about one thing, how would she know her dragons
name. "Will it tell me, or will I just know?" She poundered to herself.
Soon another egg hatched revealing a magnificent bronze and a small green.
After the three eggs had hatched it had revealed for the first time
an egg that was different from the rest. A larger egg, with a golden
hue that Klira knew could only be a queen egg. A hush fell over the room
and Klira began to get nervous. As it split open and a queen waddled out.
"But it was impossible! A gold in a green's clutch!" a candidate beside
her said in chime with many other people in the sands.
Klira watched as the gleaming gold wandered around awkwardly, searching
the line of the remaing girl candidates that she was in. Klira notticed
as some of the girls crept up closer in hopes of impressing, but Klira
ramained where she had been standing, she knew that she would be happy
with what ever she impressed, all dragons to her were gyms, but to impress
a gold would been most wounderful. The queen than past her but backed back
up and there eyes locked a feeling of warth and happiness filled her as
the gleaming gold approached her, she streched out her neck to get a closer
look at the stunned Klira.
Why
are you surprised? Would you not have me as your dragon? Klira
petted gold Merieth fondly, even if her hand still shook. "Yes, of coarse
I would , Merieth what ever made you think that I wouldn't?"
