VAGRANT STORY
Vagrant Story without a doubt, is the finest game ever made for the Playstation. You battle like this: you can switch in and out of battles anytime you want and for any reason. Push the O button to switch in and out of battle. Before drawing your weapon, you can open boxes and pick up crates. While in battle mode, you can, of course, attack. When in battle mode, you push O to make a wire-frame sphere appear around you, you can attack anything in the sphere. Heres a little strategy usage, if you hit the legs of an enemy, they will move slower. BUT, if you attack the arms they can't attack. Most enemies have multiple parts, but some smaller enemies have only one attack point. It combines Parasite Eve ideas with something completely new, Chain Abilities. by timing your button preses after attacks, you can unleash massive chain abilities.v But, if you time your button presses when an ENEMY attacks, you unleash a defense ability.
The story goes like this: You are Ashley Riot, a Riskbreaker agent chasing after an undead demon named Sydney Lassorot (both of you are guys). While chasing after him in a church or something, Sydney captures Merlose, some girl that has something to do with Ashley. So you follow him to Lea Monde, where Sydney unleashes a crapload of undead and living monstrosities. You fight everything from knights to giant fire-breathing dragons.
The graphics in vagrant story are just, WHOA!! They are the best the Playstation will ever see! The sound effects are also done quite nicely. Lastly, the music isn't fast-paced, it is a slow, tense sound to create a tense feel, and it is done practically perfect!
Vagrant Story is a fairly short game, but it has so much depth in it, you will be playing for months. This game is without a doubt the best game ever to meet the Playstation.
